    I'm glad to hear this, because I love nuts and seeds. Interesting counterpoint to Dr. Esselstyn, who eliminates all fats from the diets of his heart patients, including nuts/seeds/avocados.

      The reason why dr. Esselsten did that is because the body arteries were so clogged that any fat would make it worse.

      Yes…to his heart patients not healthy patients! His rationale: nuts/seeds are addictive and Dr E is afraid his heart patients will be stashing nuts/seeds everywhere to snack on.

    😮 WOW‼️THANK YOU DR FUHRMAN‼️1oz of Nuts & seeds is not enough! 1.5 + is needed! I’m 55, and athletic. When I was avoiding them, I had a BMI of 17. Now with them it’s 18! 40-60% more ♥️ disease - without nuts & seeds‼️

      With a little oil you can easily leave the ED kind of BMI zone. E.g. with canola, which also or even more contributes to the magic ALA omega-3 supply (Lyon Diet Heart Study: CVD risk reduction by factor 4 with canola!).
      Also soy stuff with its protein + fat (incl. ALA) is anabolic in a healthy way.
      Most people, even vegan, are struggling in opposite direction BMI-wise.

    Do fats have a second meal effect in assisting with the assimilation of nutrients?

    • @xcast1
      @xcast1 2 роки тому

      Fats activate the "ileal break", but after some 6h max fat digestion is well over.
      A drop of oil assist more than a huge chunky nut - and tastes better on salads.
      Canola is also high in the magic ingredient, ALA n3 acid - showed 4x CVD risk reduction in the controlled Lyon Diet Heart Study. 5g of ground flax seeds cover the daily ALA need already fully (and more good stuff) - there will likely be no more extra magic CVD effect for people who go nuts on top of that...

    It makes me wonder why it’s not a common knowledge that almost any quality food has more benefits than harm under the right amount. Any kind of diet that eliminates one kind of food causes more harm than good. The same are true with vigan diet where a person doesn’t eat any animal products and kito diet that heavily restricts carbs. If you want to get the maximum long term health benefits, you must create your own personalised diet plan that includes your preferences, reactions to certain foods, lab data if possible. It will take years and decades to perfect and it will work ONLY for you. However, this approach will suit you FAR better than any person can recommend you with their limited knowledge of you, your health condition and other personal factors. For me it’s unthinkable when people blindly follow health advises of others with fanaticism. I won’t do that even if my father asked me, let alone a stranger on the Internet.

      No not really actually and you’re assuming everyone is blindly following here. There are better degrees of evidence for sone approaches over others

    • @AtEboli

      Not true. Numerous studies have shown that animal products are unhealthy and will cause you harm, less longevity, more cancer and CVD, etc. So yes, eliminating one type of food from your diet can be a very good thing to do- if that thing is animal sourced foods.

    Sounds BS. Life expectancy of India is about 70 years which is way less than developed countries. Indians consume way less amount of animal protein than developed countries. What does it prove!!?

    • @gelbsucht947
      @gelbsucht947 2 роки тому

      Higher infant mortality may explain the lower average life expectancy. I‘m not sure because I know very little about India but I imagine that is one possible cause.
