Talking from a UK perspective, not many people bought it because they were put off by the price. I think it was £50. I work full-time and earn a good amount from UA-cam, and still didn't consider it worth my time at that price, so I can't imagine what their target audience (13-21 year olds) would have thought about that price tag. At £10, or £15 max, it would have been considered reasonable, but £50 was a joke. Millionaires like Austin who are running Social Gloves clearly are out of touch with the fans if they think they can just throw £50 on something which they can probably find for free.

Everyone I know didn’t buy the paperview 😂 people were streaming the fights with titles under “Fortnite battle royal” and pulled 60,000-120,000 viewers. UA-cam had no idea it was live on their own platform and neither did social gloves, streamers kept it perfectly hidden and so many people watched. However I do believe majority was illegal

imo this event panders to an audience of younger viewers who are much more in tune with technology and social media, and because of this are more likely to find ways to beat the system and watch it without paying compared to that of an older generation watching a more traditional sporting event. I know tons of people who watched the fight and not one of them payed for it but it makes sense considering the whole thing was being livestreamed on youtube.

Credit to Logan and Jake, they said that Social Gloves was over estimating their PPV because they were not taking into account the piracy.
They should of invested in a experienced company that deals with piracy. 50-100k and they would of had everything down forcing millions to buy the pay per view. You didn’t even need a sports streaming site. That shit was on every platform on live stream.

3 reasons why the event didn’t sell:
1. Targets a younger audience that likely has no money to pay for it to begin with.
2. Said audience is internet savvy and knows how to stream the event for free.
3. The fights were uploaded to UA-cam for free anyways so why even bother to pay 🤷🏻♂️
4. The audience who made the influencers famous in the first place have grown up watching free content and expecting these influencers to be paid by other people, not their problem.
5. The previous amateur boxing events were a joke, a laughing stock, people were mocked for buying it, there is genuine reason to be hesitant now.
6. The price was outrageously out of proportion to what it was, $60 or $50 or whatever it was is ludicrous to watch a group of amateurs box. I'm relatively well off and I refused to pay that. It was a $10 event at best, I don't care about the music acts they were utterly dreadful anyway, that was the organisers choice to do all that and go for a high production value, but as an entertainment event this was a $10 event.

I remember hitting the “Live” tab on UA-cam and EVERY single video I clicked on was a livestream of the event. This event was MASSIVE. Unfortunately I think it was too expensive and too easy to watch it on UA-cam. Oh and honestly having all these influencers livestream a portion of the event for free just funneled everyone to UA-cam where they could than just get on someone livestream and watch the rest for free.

The event was SHADY af since day 1. The weigh in/meet and greet was NOTHING like it was promised. Everything was disorganized. The stadium held 30k people and by looking at the crowd when I was there, probably only 10-15k seats were filled. We're not nefarious, and we wanna know the results, we just check the next day. There is little incentive to buy the $40/$50 PPV when I/we can check the next day and know the result, you know? this event was a mess being organized to begin with and i heard from an insider that austin organized it all. I paid to go to the event with a meet & greet right when the tickets came out. flew from louisiana to miami for it. it wasnt until TWO DAYS before the fight that an email was sent out saying that the meet and greet was the next day. totally UNFAIR for most people involved since when the tickets were purchased, no other date was mentioned but the date of the fight. So i could not attend a meet & greet a paid for because my flight was not til the morning of the fight.
NOT TO MENTION you had to pay for 4 tickets, no more no less. i only went with one other friend leaving 2 tickets unused, wasting my money.
