Hey, he definitively felt bad about making him slow down, and for misha to drive it is the whole reason why they were here, there's no way he was sayng no, he probably was excited to see the video too XD
True but getting a semi professional to drive your car and potentially give you feedback is super awesome. You can only learn so much but driving. You have to step back at least once.
Go easy on him. We haven't seen him drive. There are plenty of videos of F1 drivers being scared shitless riding as passengers on the Nord. It's scary when you aren't in control when that's what you are used to. Quit dumping on him and praise him for his incredible car he let Misha solo hot lap for us. You guys are rough!
reminds me of me and my friend, we were both a bit of knuckleheads on the road, but the one time we got legit scared was when we road with this random guy showing us his car for sale. No matter how crazy one can be, if you dont trust your driver, you're gonna shit yourself
Kudos to him for recognizing his fear and tapping out, but to still let you do a hot lap in his car gave me full respect, not to mention being humble enough to let you use the footage of his fear lol
Hahaha! Misha is the man, asked the guy if he could go without him 😂😂 The owner is a G, I can understand being nervous as a passenger and respect to him for allowing you to go on your own 👍🏼
I am a pretty decent driver and can be known to drive my f80 very hard but the second I let a friend drive it or hop in someone else’s fast car I get anxious about not being in control of what happens. This guy is fine in my book and thank you for letting Misha hot lap it solo. Go easy on him please. He loves this channel enough to risk his bmw for our entertainment.
Ok but being anxious is one thing. This guy said he doesn't even let his wife drive him. To me that means he has deep issues about control. There's a line between liking to drove, being anxious and NEVER letting someone else drive. The fact people can't see the distinction is crazy.
i love these comments, people need to understand that just because you are scared doesnt mean you cant handle it. Props to the passenger for not being ashamed to say its too much and props to MIsha for respecting that like always
I can definitely empathize with being more fearful as a passenger because you're not in control of the situation. Even with a trustworthy driver it can be overwhelming.
Imagine having a car this seriously well built and then being afraid when the car is actually doing what it was ment for by you in the track, you'd expect him to have more confidence on the car at that point, misha is rarely the failure point. My point isn't just calling him a coward, rather to point out that this thing is a SERIOUS track machine and people with far less track ready cars were perfecly fine with going fast.
I see the benefits of doing a trackday, almost the entire track alone to enjoy ...still the ones you caught up on wasn't aware of a speeding car behind them and BMW ...it's something special with the sound it creates...love it !
Wow! What a car. I can totally understand what the passenger was feeling. Going mach jesus on a racetrack you aren't that familiar with in the passenger seat must be pretty nerve wracking. If it was me getting nervous I probably wouldnt even be able to vocalize that XD! Nice lap Misha!
most people are like this..very rarely do you find people test the limits of anything they have or own, they barely can test themselves mentally and or physically before giving up.
I have been in passenger of my 1LE 2x and just cannot relax or enjoy it.. For some reason, I know they are not going as fast as I do thru the same corners and are braking earlier, but the anxiety is real.. Amazing car, thanks for bringing us along..!!
Props to the car owner, sometimes you have those moments where your gut instinct tells you not to do something and I believe you should always listen to that. Misha is a great driver but in racing some things are out of the drivers control, tire can blow, suspension can break, another driver can cause an issue. The fact he even let Misha do another lap without him after seeing how fast he was going to go was mega, huge props for that and awesome car.
100% full understanding to the passenger. None of us are gods, all of us have limits; there's never a shame about it. Serious build. Yoko A052, absolute best you can get before full slicks. Suspension seemed mega hard, as Misha said himself. Would be a good GP track setup. For the Nordschleife, - 20% or so less stiff would have taken probably 10s off the laptime.
Fernando Alonso said in an interview that when he is driving a formula 1 car, he feel it like driving a normal car at normal speed, but when he doesnt finish the race and stop to watch the race from the side of the road, he thinks that the f1 drivers are crazy and he cannot believe how fast a f1 car accelerates and turns watching it from outside.
I'm also a terrible passenger, I can relate haha. Great video. Feeling all the seat-of-the-pants forces and seeing the road coming so fast while having no connection or control of the vehicle is pure anxiety for me.
So many people here already shitting on him, thinking he built this car but doesn't dare race it himself? Just because he hates being a passenger doesn't mean he can't race the car himself and go fast around a track. It's not uncommon for good drivers to hate being passenger in a car, it's all about the fact that they themselves aren't in control of the situation.
this videos hits hard, i love motorsports and the ring but my heart starts to have issues during high velocity and tense situations. Ill happily stay in the garages and pits lol
i drive like a mad man and no fear. but second u put me in a seat its a big nope. my mind knows im in control and trusts it'self. its natural instinct to not trust someone else.
Driving on the Nordschleife is a dream of mine, that I hope comes true next year. I doubt I'd enjoy being a passenger though. I'd most likely have the same reaction as this guy.
Misha is the only driver I would ever be able to let loose and enjoy the ride. This guy is so scared and he must not know in how good of hands he’s in with Misha. 😂
I think he said he felt like he was having a panic attack. It can be hard to not be in control even if you're fine with putting yourself in the same danger I guess.@@tlsammich
Probably his nerves get to him while he's a passenger. I know a friend of mine who's literally one of the safest drivers. And he's definetly up there in terms of speed too... But as soon as he's passenger, he's scared shitless cos as he says "I'm not in control and I start to over think, then nerves get to me"
Nice to see that Misha slowed down as soon the passenger requested it. It should be fun. At the same time: I don't think Misha was pushing the car to the limit in the first place. It seemed very controlled.
Hopefully people don't hate the guy too much. What people need to realize is for some folks, it's not a matter of being "too scared' but more like "I might have a panic attack" "Or I might pass out". Sometimes they don't word it in that way since it's easier to just say it's too scary. Anxiety is a whole different beast. Better to say something than end up having a health emergency on track.
The man said panic attack this is something involuntary, i wonder why psychologically. Admitting youre scared takes serious balls and being comfortable in your own skin. Fair play. Being a passenger is not always easy but id be cool with someone like Misha
My first lap at the Ring was in a McLaren driven by Tim Morley. He's an amazing driver, but it was frightening. The passenger experience is very different from that of driving the track. I totally get Jame's reaction here. 🏁
I hate being passenger too, doesnt matter if the drivers better than I am, its just the feeling of not being in control, also feels a lot faster from the other seat as well
Crazy how our brain works, drivers are so used to being in control that when they become passengers they completely freak out, it really humanizes them. Especially clips of pros like f1 drivers also going through what this guy did
The guy seems really tired. If you arrive there knackered and do a lap it is certainly going to wake you up. The second lap was spectacular! Misha in form as usual! The car makes a great noise. The power and handling are impressive! I think my old Opel Ascona would keep up though in my dreams!
What a waste of an amazing experience, so many of us wishing to go on a lap with misha (a proper one!). I perfectly understand the feeling (I had it myself onboard of an M3 F80 arround the track with a professional race driver), but newing Misha and having watched so many videos You just have to know that that is just Your mind tricking You :)

Misha would you lap an Opel Corsa from 2006 with a missfire on cold start?
Misha please fly me over there to ride with you,I would sit there smiling ear to ear the whole time
sadly I live all the way down in new zealand, I'll just watch from the cameras when the day comes!

"Do you mind if i do 1 more... But without you" 😂😂 props to the owner for letting Misha take it out
Great line. Even greater response.

@@brokenmember1658He probably didn't know he was going to be scared
If he knows this, and he obviously does, then why go with Misha for a lap?
Can't blame the guy, car feels 2x faster when you are in a passenger seat 🙃
And every pothole looks 10x bigger than it actually is 😂 or is it just me?
Definitely

Takes courage to deal with panic and anxiety especially in the public eye.
