Hi guys! We're rewatching this video a year later as we're in Johor Bahru now and we're planning our next stop in Malaysia! This video is making us so excited about visiting Kluang!
Wow... It's my hometown.. Kluang is a best place for food lover.. Guys, here have lot of food shop that you can visit and I think you guys really love it..
That's good the pork wasn't too salty. So awesome you're going exploring today. What a quaint little coffee shop. That's awesome this place has been here since 1938. That bun is something Butters would LOVE.. we aren't coffee drinkers, but it looks delicious!!
I know I say it often, but it really is special to talk to the owners of family owned businesses like that, now more than ever it is super important to support the family owned shops like Tangkak Beef and glad to see all of their locations were kept in the family. That soup and roast beef looked so damn good.
That's awesome guys. It's great that with the time you are spending there, you are truly finding so much delicious food. And as you find, we learn more about Malaysian food. Soooo cool
We are enjoying taking it slow and now incorporating some of the smaller towns that have cool things to see and good food. Been great to learn more about different foods all over the country. Glad you guys are learning more about it too!
Wow!!! The way u guys present the foods in your vlogs is awesome. Definitely definitely will gain more success in near future. I can see lotsa effort n souls given in all your vlogs. Definitely underrated. Keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hye,im from kluang, johor and i loved how u enjoyed your stay in kluang,i hope u come back here and can try more interesting place here, such as box park
Its my hometown! Its very famous for Kluang coffee and toasts with kaya and butter. Our railway station /Kluang Rail serves one of the best black coffee in town!
That beef soup... love that it's farm to table, and that it's from their own beef ranch. That's cool they have coffee in teabags!! Those biscuits look tasty.. we'd eat the whole contaienr LOLOL!!! The cendol looks really interesting. You guys always are eating things we haven't seen before. Thanks for taking on this cool adventure today and lots of love to you guys!!
Kluang Rail Coffee is not just any nondescript coffee shop that it is; it's a Kluang/Johor institution in itself. It used to be my favourite breakfast place when I was living and working there in the entire decade of the 1970s. Wonder if they still have the very cheap newspaper-wrapped nasi lemak now. The sambal was something to die for. And the 'roti bun kahwin' was delectable ... something that I always returned to whenever I'm back there. Btw Kluang = Flying Fox, a bat species. Hence it is sometimes referred to as Gotham City - in tribute to Batman and Robin 😄.
We loved the feel of Kluang Rail Coffee - we would definitely go back. Can see why it is such an institution. Believe they do still sell the nasi lemak bungkus there. Ahh good to know about kluang being a flying fox. We saw a lot of them when we were in Tioman. Haha Gotham City!
We are not straight black coffee drinkers, need that little bit of milk to mellow things out, but would for sure give it a try when we make it to Malaysia. Really appreciate how unique Kluang Rail Coffee seems, a spot in Malaysia we'd never know about if you two didn't bring us there!
You guys would be fine in Malaysia then - there are plenty of options to have it with some condensed or evaporated milk. Kluang Rail Coffee was awesome! Loved how it is tucked into the actual railway station
Really cool you met the owner of that store. Really cool to see business grow from a cart to a full out restaurant. So glad to hear that it is so good and the ingredients from their own farm. That's nuts. Has to be good since you went there twice. All of the food you guys had looked so good. That soup you had in the end with the beans was pretty cool. Thanks for sharing guys. Have really enjoyed your content!!!!

Hello, hope you guys enjoy when visited kluang. Im originally from kluang and Yes! The cendol was since my childhood. Even my dad told me its been there since his childhood too. One more about the kluang rail coffee and the factory u visit, they are different manufacturer. The kluang rail coffee famous because of the royal johor love it, but the best coffee for kluang people is 'television' brand which is the factory u visit. One more u should try the original menu from kluang was 'Nasi Ujang' at Lagenda Ujang Restaurant. Which is fried chopping chicken fry with chiliies, a bit spicy but most celebrity come here. U guys should try! Just near the ktm station. Come to kluang and visit again!
Thank you! We did enjoy our time there. Great that cendol is still going strong! Yes realized that the rail coffee and factory are different - both tasty in their own way. Oh that Nasi Ujang sounds good! Thank you for the suggestion.
On your next visit back to Kluang, don’t forget to stop by at Cheese U Bandar, right near The Box Park that you guys visited! They have the best Ayam Penyet and Cheese U Grill chicken in town!!!
Love the switch up added travel aspect of this one... definitely had a bit of the Grand Central/Penn vibe with the train out.... though much more palm trees than Westchester or Long Island 😂
Thanks, guys! Figured it would be fun to show more of the journey since it is a nice short trip away from Johor Bahru. Haha true - most of those are plantations for palm oil

Kluang Rail Coffee looks like a great spot to start the day in Kluang. Oh yes kaya toast/bun with half boiled egg. Love the choice of telur kampung, look at the bright orange yolk, so good! 😍
Glad you love Malaysian food.. Just a tip thou . When you order the Roasted Char Siew ... always ask for half meat , half fat . That's the best part . That Roasted pork / Siew Yuk looks incredible .. Wow that roast pork! and yes we will also forget about cholesterol etc for a moment lol, we would be super fine to find roast pork for our late night food!
Wow you really nailed it with how to eat the toast and half boiled egg! If I didn't already know, I'd assume you both are Malaysian. Tangkak Beef is goood! Two of their branches are in KL and that's where I go to get my beef goodness without having to travel too far.
You guys really great that able to find these foodies! But actually there are still a lot foodies you guys might interested, for examples, Botak curry mee, The famous Ramly Burger, Teoh Heng Bah Kut Teh in Taman Intan, Central Chicken rice, Herbal tea near UOB bank, Nasi Briyani in Taman Desa...many more! There’s a Hakka cuisine called Lei Cha (擂茶in Chinese, basically it’s kind of like green tea soaking rice?), there’s a famous one in Kluang Baru area, it might be a challenge for those who first try this! And there’s a fushion cuisine Lei Cha Pizza, located at 1st floor of Kluang bus station! And if you guys could drive in Malaysia (or maybe grab?), UK farm (feeding little cute lamb is the attraction), and Zenxin farm are good places to visit too! Both with great view, great animals and great food!
The Ramly burger stall was on our list, but sadly it was closed the night we went. Even went back a few times later on to see if they would be open, but no luck. Lots of great suggestions there - thank you for sharing! Maybe a round 2 would be in order someday

There is some similarities in taste, though the coffee here usually isn’t made with fresh milk, usually condensed or evaporated

Definitely! Always like to take the train when we get the chance to, nice change of pace from the bus
Wow that roast pork! and yes we will also forget about cholesterol etc for a moment lol, we would be super fine to find roast pork for our late night food!
Finding it late night like that made it even more enjoyable
Wow you really nailed it with how to eat the toast and half boiled egg! If I didn't already know, I'd assume you both are Malaysian.
Tangkak Beef is goood! Two of their branches are in KL and that's where I go to get my beef goodness without having to travel too far.
Thank you! Glad you like Tangkak Beef too - nice you can get it in KL
You have the ways of eating n drinking like malaysian. Dip the bun with the egg n Kopi O kosong . 😁 enjoy !
Ahhh that is good too! Love the Malaysian ways
That's a nice rich hearty bowl of beef ribs broth! Looks almost like a bak kut teh, but the bak is beef! Love how nicely the meat tears apart, lovely!
Oh man this was delicious! There are locations in KL + Selangor too, you guys should try it one day!
Wow more coffee.. I can tell it's strong! Old school vibe with that cafe shop!
Oh yeah! This was nice and strong - really good stuff
Love these travel vlogs ....nice train..hopefully no one uses those motion sickness bags! Haha
Thank you! Figured it would be nice to incorporate some travel vlog moments into this one. Haha true!
Spicing things up nice we like it 😊✌️ ohh man that crackling of the pork skin
Thanks guys! Jumi’s old school editing + new school = more spice 😅
Oh yeah, I need a good strong coffee in the morning! Savory and sweet breakfast, perfect start to your morning!
Absolutely! Breakfast of champs
@@FoodandFootprints You're welcome! Hope to see you guys again in Kluang! =)
