Me and my dad ride over to B&G in Iuka to buy teeth for our 643D cutter. Whenever they’ve got a new track cutter on the yard that I can climb up in and look at it makes my day.
I always have liked seeing heavy equipment, especially farming and logging. I have never seen a processor in person but I know it’s BIG. Stay safe doing the tree work.
Only Tigercats around here are mostly knuckleboom on trailers and the only trouble I have heard them having multiple times is turntable bearing trouble. Which people say that about Deere too with the turntable but my 437e is up to 6000 hours and doesn't have an ounce of play. A grease gun cures a lot of problems...lol.
Awesome video Tim and the tigercat H855E is very nice. And the Appalachian Mountain area of Virginia where I live we see mostly John Deere Timberjack Barko and other logging equipment brands. But I have noticed some of the logging companies around in here are running tigercat equipment now.
They make the Waratahs in the town just north where live, they used to make the southern star processors here in my town but I think that they closed down, processors are extremely important here on every forest operations,
That is a big investment hope it's a work horse for you guys. Hope the rain moves out and the mills stay running so you guys can make headway. Stay safe
Nice machine Goodson All Terrain runs a lot of Tigercat equipment and they seem to have held up well through the years I think you guys will have many good years of service from this processor
We have two of those 865e's and they are fast. Ours don't have heads on them just grapple and heel but they are very fast. I imagine that one will run that head very well.
That Deere processor was such an excellent machine and held up. It will definitely set the bar high for the Tigercat. That being said the Tigercat could still turn out to be an excellent machine and still not last as well as the Deere. Gonna be interesting to see none the less.
Heavy equipment in general interests me. I have never ran any heavy equipment but i have always been in impressed with just how massive and powerful that stuff is.
Me too. I run smaller stuff but I'm impressed every day by what iron and hydraulic power can do, and how little effort the controls need. I've loved it since I was a little kid.
Interesting machine, alot of steel an moving parts, curious to see the speed an movement of the machine, it's most likely gonna be a hoss, your right about holding up as long as the Deere, because you have got your money out of the Deere processor, thanks for sharing Tim, 🌲💪🇺🇸
Hopefully it’ll be good and I’m sure that it prolly will. Deere has and is good but thank goodness we have still been moving away from that dealer. Tigercat dealer is a much better choice to work with.
@@cotontop3 gotcha, seems tigercat machines are just tougher in the forestry equipment side than all the other manufacturers, durability, power, overbuilt, I mean it seems that way,
Slick lookin tigercat there tim i like it. Can’t believe that waratah head weighs around what my 1500 silverado does😂. Lookin forward to seein what happens with the ol machinery rescue. Thats gunna be cool stuff there. Thanks for the content tim, good stuff 🤙🏼
Yeah waratahs are definitely heavy. When you're used to a lightweight, tough, snappy head, the heavy clumsy waratahs are a real pain in the keester. I know people seem to make money with them, but for the money and how much they weigh, they are definitely underperformers.
I run one just like that. Except we have the higher pedestal. I really like it. Especially since we do 16.4 cut to length. The piles really get high for us.
Do your forestry companies prune the lower limbs off their trees to improve log yield ? Here in Tasmania trees are pruned up to a height of 6 metres so good log is in the bottom for milling.
With fuel going up, are y’all confident with the industry to pull the trigger on a high price tag machine? Or was it ordered and committed to and now it’s here? Things look a lot different 4-6 months ago.
LOL, no this could be the straw that breaks the camels back as they say. No turning back now. Yeah it was ordered a while back and like everything else took a while to get. Things are super sketchy now and could go down the tube at any second.
Too bad your dealer is bad. Does John Deere know this and don’t care? We wouldn’t be able to go TigerCat up here because of no dealer. Our John Deere dealer is pretty good. I put a waratah 623 on a 2454 log loader. Love the combination of reach and visibility. Have the 6’ cab riser as well. Good luck with your new machine.
It's cool that you are getting new equipment but with fuel costs isn't it a bit risky especially when from my understanding loggers are not getting paid more to help offset this and other expenses?
You gotta think that fuel did make the jump like it did until March and then also think that this machine was ordered long ago too. No one can figure what the future might be with the economy and that is why being in business is a risk with every move you make.
@@cotontop3 the time to get the machine was something I forgot to consider and it makes a lot more sense now that you have brought it to my attention thank you for that.
How long did it take for y’all to get the 855 and how long to get 624 head. I’m looking at a 855 but I would like to stay with the 623 head that I am running now. My dealer is pushing for the Tigercat 575 head to go with the 855. They have a few loggers running the 575 on 250 loaders. My dealer really can’t give me clear answer on a time frame of getting a 623 head. Just getting a little info. Thanks again and great looking machine.
@@cotontop3 10 4 I went up Rodney Waugh job Thursday and looked at his 855 and 575 run. It seems like a good head. Just throwing some feelers out there to get peoples thoughts.
You may have already answered this question. But with the Deere machines being so reliable over the years what was the reason for switching brands? Either way that tigercat is a nice looking machine
We’ve just received our Tigercat LH855E running a 24” head. Awesome machine. Plenty over power all round. Does the job with ease. Really enjoying it.
It’s good to see you invest in your company in this business climate. It gives me confidence to do the same. Log on.

I'm looking forward seeing the new processor run! Nice looking machine right there!
Nice looking machine. I’m sure that will help with efficiency getting those logs processed. Now if you could just control Mother Nature 😀
I’d rather have some control over the economy. I can deal with the punches Mother Nature throws.
Man those things sure have changed since I worked on them. Those scrapers are more my era. Great video!!

It’s always a gamble and huge risk. With things the way they are, you can collapse quick.
That things a hoss, the head weighs about what a skidsteer weighs plus swinging a tree around beast mode
That processor looks awesome. Looking forward to seeing it in action. Keep up the good videos. Me and my family sure enjoy watching them.
We just got a 855e cutter and pics and videos dont do it justice it is massive

The tigercat processor, looks like it's got a longer reach

That's good looking machine. It looks a lot bigger than the John Deere
It weighs around 10k less than the deere does.
I'd never thought it. That's a substantial difference for what they do. That dang lowboy sure would appreciate it being 10k less.
Beautiful lumber.
I wish Uncle Sam would start subsidizing loggers like they do farmers ... I would buy a Tigercat the first day!
They just don’t look at logging as being in same category as farming.

I can smell the new pant from here!
All shiny right now

I actually ran that machine in the yard at the store
They build them 7mins from where I live In Brantford Ontario Canada

It’s been good and sometimes tough to keep up with shipping.
Beautiful Machine, Have you guys ever considered a Southstar head? Guys love them up here in western Canada
I have looked them over good. With what we’ve done with Waratah, its hard to even consider a southstar.
Is there much of a wieght difference between the johndeere and the tigercat? She is a pretty machine
Tigercat is around 10k pounds lighter.
Why the Tigercat instead of another Deere? I thought the Deere had the hydraulics you all preferred?
Mainly dealer preference over the other

Difference between dealers.
Hello, how much m3 can 635d pull in one day on average distance of skidding and what is that distance?
Awesome :-)
