I'm very glad I bought my R32 GTR before the automotive enthusiast market went berserk. Definitely one of the best handling and feeling cars I've ever driven.
Was eagerly to finally see this video, ever since Matt was talking about it. I might be one of the more rare ones that love the R33 GT-R the most, am a tall dude as well. An R33 GT-R in Midinight Purple, Nismo LMGTs and the whole Nismo catalog thrown at it would be such a dream. Nicely done, Hagerty. I am thoroughly enjoying this series.
I drove a heavily modified version for several years in Japan (BNR 32 GT-R with most every Nismo part in the book)... it was phenomenal... I never should have given her up...
I've had three R32 GTR's, believe me guys, you need deep pockets to keep one of these on the road. ALL of mine had issues, nearly every time I drove them. Don't get me wrong, they are an awesome experience to drive, but the constant oil leaks, splitting rubbers, rattles, squeaks and groans get very tiring. Also, beware of rust. There is some crazy law in Japan that prevents welding the chassis or something, hence they are VERY good at using filler to look like original steel panel work, especially around the front strut tops and front end of the sills, where they are normally crushed from jacking.
@@mohitme1234 Maybe but with the advent of global governments pushing to ban all internal combustion powered car sales (depending on the country between 2025-2035) I don't see any of the bubbles bursting. And I had the pleasure of working, repairing and driving these machines when most of them were under 10 years old. Good times!
The R33 is a wonderful car. I remember driving one in Japan and was blown away with how fast and how smoothly it built speed. Still dreaming of that R34 GT-R. (:
The only negative in a sea of positives about Hagerty's featuring specific cars is they spike the values a fair bit lol. Other than that the videos are fantastic.
@@starrja true but I think r35s are gonna hold their value a bit and be out of reach. I think they’re gonna devalue for a little while and then shoot up in price

Drove an R32 NISMO last week, very first time behind the wheel of a GT-R. I have never been so smitten with any after a first drive as the GT-R. I need to have on of my own. They are so incredibly well balanced and drives like a car that is far newer than it actually is.
I had a r34gt, sold it for £2800 back 10 years ago and regret it every day since, its worth £20,000+ now. The guy that bought it i see still driving it with smile on his face. I've had so many cars that are worth a small fortune nowadays.
Loved everything about my 32, except the lack of information available for fixing the little quirks that owning a 30 year old vehicle brought to the table.
This brings back great memories but. Also me importing cars selling them for 20-40k and then suddenly after I sold the best GTR I HAD HKS EVERYTHING WHEELS And then became illegal which made soooo pist everyone I sold cars too where in heaven and I was in hell. I used to get A GTR R34 v spec for 40,000 mint condition low mileage. It was fun still love them. I still have evo 5 Tommy addition and left hand steering just need to look around especially Middle East
I actually like the R33 a lot. The rear end is the best looking out of all three (32, 33, 34) in my opinion. I don't think there was an R34 in the first Gran Turismo, so I was seeing that rear end quite a bit.
i would love to own an R33GT left hand drive converted...I've had an emotional attachment since i seen it in Japan in real life back in 1997. HEY MATT FARAH, ONE TAKE MY CAR BRO!💪
R33 is for me the prettiest of the 3. Headlights are just the right shape, has a good looking face, all 4 tail lights have the same radius, it’s just pretty
The uk were getting over 1000bhp out of skylines 20 years ago. The USA socks, you missed out on a lot of cool cars, the Ford Cosworths xr4x4i escorts etc, the skylines and supra
Everyone talks about the gtr, but the gts are just as good and lighter. Sure you need to tune the rb25, but what Skyline isn't? You could also get the gts-m which is a gtr lite. Has awd but not the same amount of power

yes they are and no they aren't, they are because the potential for greatness is nearly unlimited in Australia we have 6 second 1/4 gtrs and it almost becoming normal, they really aren't though because to get them to make this power costs more than it does to buy a Lamborghini and twin turbo it.. ask me how I know i have owned both an r32 gtr and and r33 gtr starting price for a 30 plus year old rusted out nugget is nearly $100,000 now days and every single mod no matter how insignificant starts at $5000, forget a gtr but an exotic
Dear Hagerty: keep doing this without adding pay walls or moving to traditional TV networks.
I hope that happens but unlikely with how much these shows cost to make and the revenue they get from them
