Mostly i use heavy bottomed stainless steel for most of the cooking. I have Bergner kadai which is really good. For some stir-fry i use circulon non-stick kadai. 🙏😊

Thank you very much 🙏😊 You can use regular vellam. I get powdered jaggery in the indian store near my house and feel it easier than the circular gud. The result of the puttu is same if you use regular or powdered jaggery 🙏😊
The only reason is the consistency of the jaggery syrup. the syrup should be thick and should not dissolbe but it should not turn crispy. crispy jaggery syrup makes the puttu like chikki.
I see garlic as a medicinal ingredient. It has more medicinal properties and i don't think there is nothing wrong to use if i'm from a brahmin family. Also i always specify that adding onion, garlic are optional.
Brahmins no longer stick to their norms. This is the reality. Fact - once in 2-3 months Brahmins used garlic or onion. Then it serves as medicine. But using onion and garlic in regular cooking serve s no medicinal purpose other than taste.
