I remember playing the PS1 version of this mission (Retaliation), i tried to save the spy using the nuke cheat. He made a very daring sacrifice canonically.

Man i had some bad luck in this mission:
1- One of the dogs didn't die to the barrels, no clue how that even happened, i went the same starting route as the later tries.
2- Instead of the dog not dying to barrels, we all died, spy included, again same route taken.
3- Spy of course got stuck on the rocks on the way to the beach causing the "reinforcements have arr... mission failed" bug.
4- And when i finally made it, the first transport, instead of going to the left, went to the middle of the beach, causing all infantry to die to those dogs before they even got out and the second transport went further right causing the V2 to destroy my Tesla Tank before it even got out.
I did finally made it, but damn was it infuriating.

The spy part is PURE RNG, I failed this mission over 50% of the time because of this 😭

I didnt go assault the base right away. Instead I tried building a base and doing it the old fashion way. Only to be bombarded by planes, troops, and naval units. I thought it was damn near impossible

Yeah, this mission is ridiculously hard if you do it the intended way. Attacking the AI base before establishing your own base is bay far the easiest route.

I wondered why you delayed building for so long. It was to avoid an AI trigger. Have been playing all evening can't get within range of Tesla coil without it striking back straight away.

The dogs getting the spy is really unforgiving, but I found more success moving the game speed down from normal to moderate, I have a hunch that the scripting is intended for that since that was the default in the original

Nice and cheesy. I remember this mission being quite hard if you play it straight.

i didnt think game speed would matter but holy crap. I am turning my speed down ha i get destroyed before my reinforcements leave the boats
