Welcome to the world of postcards. I've been selling postcards (and vintage photos) now going into my third year. There is plenty of room in the pool for everyone and they are a great way to make income. There will always be a market for them. I wish you all the best in success and thanks for sharing your knowledge and your story.
Thank you. I’ve cleaned up the storeroom. Executive decisions have been made. Selling grannies old collection. It seems like I’ve got some learning to do.
I am a buyer of roadside Americana- gas stations, motels and diners. I collect other topics, main street, Miami Beach, Pittsburgh. Ironic you showed the Curve. I have several of Logan House in Altoona. I think I would consider myself a Deltiologist. I used to attend meetings at Pittsburgh Deltiologist Club on W. Lib. Ave. re. real photo cards, look for the EKC upper right. I would've never known about your video. When I clicked youtube, your video was on the recommendation videos. Cheers.
Thanks sir for the informative videos. Here in the UK postcards are hard to sell it is like a hit or miss category in reselling. Appreciate your video. I subscribed🎉
Thanks for making this video! I’ve actually been on the hunt for better mailers so you answered my question about those and I do watch other postcard sellers but I learned a lot of stuff I didn’t really know watching this! Thank you 🙏
These new videos are great but you have the best sold videos and I enjoy them and I'm sure nobody disliked them so can we have maybe a few of those again please and all you other subscribers speak up
I greatly appreciate you taking the time to make this video and I would 100% watch more of these types of videos! I guess postcards are just the new resale itch I have because I'm ready to head down that rabbit hole. LOL Thank you again for the bomb of postcard knowledge! I'm ordering those supplies as we speak 😁
Nice to see postcard content from another youtuber! Postcards are my main reselling focus. Continentals can actually be good sellers, not all of them, like any era. I have several "what sold" videos where I've sold them at nice prices. I have even purchased new postcards off the rack and sold them for $5-10 or more. Anyway, hope to see more postcard info from you!
Totally agree loads of continental are worth great money. Those not in the know end up selling them so cheap in lots thinking they are worthless so profit can be better as well. So keep telling everyone they are not so ehhh cause some of us are profiting well off of ehh. 😂
Disclaimer or not this is a great intro! After coming to your channel last week, watching, and checking out your store, I bought at local auction my first lot of postcards on Monday (70 pre chrome mostly old photo postcards).
Thank you! So I try not to go any higher then 30-40 cents per card. But that’s on the upper end. I averaged about 13-15 cents per card. Some are certainly worth more and I’d pay up for them but as you list them you’ll learn what ones those are. Postcards are a numbers game you gotta list more and you’ll sell more. But it’s good that your trying. I find it fun seeing our country and it’s history captured in these images. Post cards are slow sellers so don’t get discouraged they all sell!! 😁
Hiii!! Some postcards have a small number in the corner, for example 08921/6. What does that mean? Is it the number of postcards that exist of that one?
Great info, I recently listed 14 1940s white border (I didn't know that was the term until I watched this video!) postcards from Copenhagen Denmark. I've probably listed them way too high but I don't mind waiting and learning and having a sale later. A couple of questions; what scanner do you use, what sku system or filing system do you use (especially if you have thousands for sale) and, when listing, do you call up one of your similar active listings to reuse and populate the specifics to save time listing? Thanks for the great content.
So I have a canon R40 I use to for postcards and photos. A lot of people like the Fujitsu scanner. So how I list is I have a template with most of the particulars saved for the type of cards I am listing. Then I add the photos and change the ones I need to to match the listing. Takes me about 4-5 min or less to list them. But I sort all the cards I get into types (chrome linen ect.) our sku is by type and letter. So examples are chrome A (about 40 cards) linen white border B (about 40 cards) so fourth and so fourth. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching 😄
Postcards are really hard to sell. especially ones that don't have any info on them, However CDVS and Cabinet cards can make a lot of money.. I bought a whole CDV album for £20 and sold just ONE card for £80. it can be a hit and miss game with postcards. TOPOS can sell for a lot, But the social history ones sometimes can be a mind field.
Doesn’t change our shipping. We use eBay standard envelope. It’s essentially a tracked stamp. So nothing had really changed for us except for a 3 cent rate increase
Hello, greatings from st petersburg fl. Great video! Quick question I have a post card from 1818 with a Red George Washington 2 cent stamp with a 1818 cancelation stamp, please tell where I can get it verified??
Hi, great video! Im thinking of starting selling vintage postcards, but all I see on YT is (mostly) Americans buying American themed cards. Are European vintage cards popular, what do you think?
I can only speak to my experience. But being a seller from the US foreign cards are slower sellers for me. But that could be because shipping to other nations cost so much. Also postcards have been around in Europe for longer then here. But the seller in me says that there has to be a market. I think I would check sell through rates on popular places that people visit and see how the cards sell. For example if you live in the UK maybe see if Stonehenge or Big Ben sells well from the UK to UK buyers. That would be how I’d start. Hope this helps.
We don’t we just list the ones that can be used as decoration mostly large letter and greeting card like (postcards) and people buy them. They mostly bundle them.
Just bought 3000 100-years old postcards for $400 from an estate sale last week. I have cumulated about 13,000 100 years old postcards. I like to buy vintage, black/white photos as well. Just bought the epson es-400 scanner last week to start scanning and uploading to eBay. previously, i was using my mini ipad to take the picture. IT WAS HORRIBLE, PHOTOS LOOK UGLY AND TAKING TOO LONG. For the scanner, i can post about 300 listings on ebay per day. min Ipad was taking me like 40 per day or something like that.
I listed 100 post cards old non split back for 8-5 bucks sold 3 or 4 in the last 2 months. I wasted a day listing. Seems like a waste of my time. Same with old trucker/ farmer caps.

The only time that is scanned is the last post office.
Thanks for putting yourself out there and sharing your knowledge.
I love your breathing it’s contagious jaja binks

I am very glad!!! Thank you for watching
I had another reseller just give me about 2,000 postcards (he didn't want to mess with them), so your video was very informative. I also subscribed.
Nice!!! They are a long sale for sure but they do sell well. Good luck! Thank you for watching and the sub

I will try my best.
Requesting 5 videos a week

Oh sweet! Thank you for the information. I will have to check them out.

Thank you!!
A question-How do you inventory your cards?
We used small bins. We sleeve them and put a number sticker on the sleeve.
I recently decided to try postcards and your videos is very helpful. Went ahead and subscribed. 😊
Awesome thanks!
Thanks for sharing!
Sounds like a bread and butter product. I just bought my first batch of about 50. Lots of Route 66. 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Nice!! Good luck!
Very informative....thanks
You seem so nice ! Thank you !
You are very welcome
Great info. Thanks
You are welcome
eBAy has a Lithograph/Printed choice. Which ones are those?
Most of the mass produced postcards are printed/lithograph
Great video! Learned alot! Now I will be on the lookout.
Thank you!!
Thanks for sharing!!
Great video, see you had nothing to worry about.
Thank you. I was nervous

thnks 4 info
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching
Hiii!! Some postcards have a small number in the corner, for example 08921/6. What does that mean? Is it the number of postcards that exist of that one?
Just the sku or order number not really relevant to you as a seller. But the buyer may care
Just bought a bunch of 1905 with the stamps. Stamps are worth an enormous sum
Nice!! Yeah we don’t get into stamps. I am sure some are worth a lot. Just not a rabbit hole I have time for. Hope you do really well with them!
I've collected stamps 70 years. Without looking I am sure the stamps are common
Great video.
Awesome video, keep them coming 👍

What do you use for shipping now with the new advantage for first class?
Doesn’t change our shipping. We use eBay standard envelope. It’s essentially a tracked stamp. So nothing had really changed for us except for a 3 cent rate increase
Great video Adam 👍 Good information

Sorry I don’t know much about stamps at all. It’s a rabbit hole I never went down.
1818 isn't possible
Stamps were invented in 1840.
You mean 1918 and the stamp is worth a penny

Nailed it!
Thank you
How are u printing the postage ? Thanks
eBay standard envelope labels and a rollo printer
@@PittsburghPicker Thanks I figured it out. I have Dymo.
@@CJSPENO awesome! Good luck!
Hi, How do you get around the Poshmark high shipping charge for postcards ?
We don’t we just list the ones that can be used as decoration mostly large letter and greeting card like (postcards) and people buy them. They mostly bundle them.
Ah bundle them, Ok thank you.@@PittsburghPicker
@@suzy7680 we don’t bundle them. They do meaning they buy multiple normally. Posh let’s them do their own combined shipping and make bundles.

Yeah the scanner is a game changer for sure! Good luck! I really enjoy it.
@@PittsburghPicker if i have the money, i'd buy the fujitsu ($1000). it looks like that is the grand daddy of sport card scanning.
@@ninersnation3298 yeah it totally is the best scanner out there. I just have a canon r40 and it’s fine for my purposes. Enjoy!
There are literally BILLIONS of postcards out there, they were the text messages of their day.
So true!
👍
Next video "How to take pictures/scan them"
Yeah I might do that.
im happy to sell a post card for 4-5 bucks ...LOL easy money
I listed 100 post cards old non split back for 8-5 bucks sold 3 or 4 in the last 2 months. I wasted a day listing. Seems like a waste of my time. Same with old trucker/ farmer caps.
Postcards aren’t fast sellers. That’s why it’s better to list a lot of them. I am selling cards I listed years ago.
First !!!!!
A beginners guide to selling postcards….. don’t

I saw your big Haul video!! Filled your truck I saw!! I bought 70,000 postcards and could still see out my windows :) Congrats on your big buy!
Why? Seriously, what on earth else is there to do with them?
