I think it's not a waste of project since this building will bring the economy to the nation since it can attract tourist to visit world second tallest building in the world... Since Malaysia economy are also highly depends on tourism since its a second income for the nation

Special about Merdeka PNB 118, when viewed from one angle to another, the shape of this building changed due to its geometric design. As well, blueish facade glass sometimes looks green hazel, silver, gray & dark blue because according to the weather & skyline. On the side, the reflection of light on the shape of the "giant hand" (symbolic when Tunku Abdul Rahman chanted independence) it looks so beautiful & stands out. Merdeka PNB 118 futuristic modern new icons. It is unique & great ....
The spire is public attraction also. Look thin but the size is big. Can reach up to 600m+

I've been to some of the tallest buildings in the world, including the Empire States Building, WTC New York (Twin Towers), Rio Sul Tower (Rio de Janeiro), E-Tower (São Paulo), Sears Tower in Chicago, Burj Khalifa (Dubai), Burj Mohammed Bin Rashid (Abu Dabhi), Marina Sands Hotel (Singapore), Petronas Tower (Kuala Lumpur), Menara Tower (Kuala Lumpur) and I believe this should be one of my next challenges throughout this new situation to travel with a pandemic in the world. Considering that most of the biggest buildings in the world are being built in Asia - China and Malaysia, I shouldn't miss them. I'm going to include Taipei 103 and certainly visit this amazing piece of Merdeka 118 tower.

Please keep in mind: There's an observatory deck inside the spire, which is the tallest observatory deck in the world, higher than Burj Khalifa and Shanghai Tower. So Technically, You can go higher inside PNB118 building than the tallest building in the world, Burj Khalifa.

Don't forget. The glass elevators will travel at 10 m/s reaching 500 meters in 65 seconds. Also, the spire of the tower will feature the world's highest observation point at a height of at least 600 meters.
Where did you get this information? the official filings put the highest floor at 476m and the roof height at 500m

there is no observation point from the spire itself. observation deck is at the roof top only. I'm currently working there.
Although Malaysia has the most southern point of the mainland Asia Continental, but we’re considered as South East Asia, not South Asia.

I love these tall amazing beautiful buildings, but as a Malaysian, I wish us should stop building these mega towers. We already have 4 supertall towers over 400M in our capital city and rumor has it that we’re gonna build 2 more buildings above 700M.
Even a huge population country like China couldn’t fill up their mega towers in Shanghai let alone a small country like mine which only has 32M people now.

I never understood the economic justification for the KL-Sing HSR. All it would have done was cannibalise KTM's ETS business and divert air passengers from KLIA to Changi.

As a Malaysian, I didn't even know about the Merdeka Tower until it finished. It was almost twice as large as the KLT in person. It's a cool building, perhaps Malaysia has another plan?

So, on previous holidays to Malaysia I've been to the KL tower and Petronas tower observation areas. I guess its only right to complete the triple (when available and safe).

I'm very proud and satisfied with the overall design of the tower. The opposition will always opposing, that's the nature of democracy. But if not mistaken, those critics also want to build a new 2nd tallest, Tower M. I'm not sure about that news, but to me this is healthy politics. Also the video mentioned that they said to focus on healthcare, here is about $0.25 per entry for basic healthcare, and we can see that Malaysian are enjoying that benefit by becoming the 1st rank overweight citizens in SEA.
