Kate, it is really great you were able to visit the National Farmers Union Convention! Thank you for sharing all the interviews, it is really interesting. Meanwhile, a lot is happening in the world, I read that since mid-February the world trade price of wheat has risen by more than fifty percent. More farmers in the Netherlands are going to sow spring wheat. To give you an idea; 180,000 hectares are full of grains in the Netherlands. I don't think that's much for American standards. The wheat grown in the Netherlands is mainly processed in animal feed. The grains from the Netherlands contain less protein. That makes the bread less tasty. Some people expect a food shortage in the world, so you see again that agiculure is really important. It is great the Farmers Union supports the familyfarms, like your granddad said. I hope your family benefits a bit from the higher grain prices, on the other hand fuel has become really expensive again. I hope you had a great time in Denver! Greetings from the Netherlands

Great video again Kate! I always try to buy from local farmers, but I would like to see it become easier to buy from local farmers. It would be great if the grocery stores etc would work more with local farmers. I don't even mind paying a premium. I know farmers don't get payed nearly enough

Kate, I love your enthusiasm. I raised my children to appreciate where their food comes from. We had an old farm house with a couple of acres but we managed to grow produce and raise Dscks, Chickens, Geese, Rabbits and other aoccasional animals. Unfortunately most of the population don't undersatnd how vulnerable they are by relying on the huge industrial type of producers.

By far and wide, many people don't know what it takes to feed them, or how to feed themselves, but thanks to you and others like you people get a glimpse of what it takes...
One person can make a difference. And that person is you. Keep up your voice and protocol of helping the small farmer in their needs of the share of the market. Women have such a huge role in keeping the small farm alive and this needs to be more recognized.

Great video Kate! Very informative! So today I was headed back to Phoenix from Tucson and decided to take some of the back roads.I was impressed at the number of farms still in operation. In the area I live in a lot of farms sold out to housing development. Sad if you ask me. 😎😎😎👍👍👍
Kate, an extremely informative report. The corporate control of agriculture is indicative of the failure to enforce anti-trust laws. Our political system is dominated by big money contributors and our legislators are beholden to them rather than the interests of the people. I believe the answer is campaign finance reform and the repeal of the Citizens United Supreme Court decision which opened the door to unlimited corporate campaign spending. We should all support candidates who understand this!
Brian, I agree completely. The last speaker was trying to get people to understand the Big Ag consolidation issue. It puzzles me why so many farming communities vote right wing.

Good motivation, bringing people together, farm work. The trade union movement helps progress and solves some problems.
It's probably protecting people in business. To be able to provide residents with food, develop business, provide employment.

Great video Kate! Very informative! So today I was headed back to Phoenix from Tucson and decided to take some of the back roads.I was impressed at the number of farms still in operation. In the area I live in a lot of farms sold out to housing development. Sad if you ask me. 😎😎😎👍👍👍

Kate, an extremely informative report. The corporate control of agriculture is indicative of the failure to enforce anti-trust laws. Our political system is dominated by big money contributors and our legislators are beholden to them rather than the interests of the people. I believe the answer is campaign finance reform and the repeal of the Citizens United Supreme Court decision which opened the door to unlimited corporate campaign spending. We should all support candidates who understand this!

Brian, I agree completely. The last speaker was trying to get people to understand the Big Ag consolidation issue. It puzzles me why so many farming communities vote right wing.

Another fantastic video with a great message. I am not in agriculture, but I have grown up in an area surrounded by family farms. A lot of people take for granted where their food and products come from. I personally try to support and buy from local farm shops. Thank you so much for the video😁
