As a kid I was always making anubites because they looked cool. No surprise I was losing all the time XD
They are very good for fast attacks. they run very fast and can jump over the wall. So i was using them very often because of that.
bro the anubites r the best if used well ..u can snip economy and jump around really fast ... sad to say u lost alot cause u threw them a way just like he did in this video,,, what u do is make them all jump one unit at the time and its always insta kill . they indeed really cool :)

I love making the Petsuchos as Egyptians! It's like adding sniper support to your army.
Upgraded Petsuchos is one of the best ranged units in the game, They can fill a similar role as Longbows in regular AoEII, large numbers of them can kill most enemies before they can reach them. Pairing them with a Roc is great 'cause the Petsuchos is so slow otherwise.
I always mass petsuchos. defend them with melee, no one can penetrate your base.
i always go for the Rocs myself, just cuz having a Roc full of catapults is ridiculously stupid yet awesome at the same time

I think the hippolyta dying to the mummy special is a bug, being the only hero unit affected by the special. It was fixed on Voobly

Hathor doesn't only give Petsuchos, but also Rocs - a way to sneak in units into the economy and devastate Your enemy

You didn't mention the two sphinx upgrades which are very powerful and most importantly cost wood. This is important as getting this upgrade won't slow down their heroic time unlike the gold cost of the Anubite upgrade.

@@zebfirehd9102 They're considered cavalry in the AOM board game, makes sense. They're basically the "centaur" of Egyptians-- good for certain scenarios
they're good for raiding and disrupting enemy economy at a decent price and even infiltrating enemy lines if they have walls or getting straight to archers past infantry on the frontline, if you micro them well they are good

My favourite Egyptian myth unit is Avengers. They just the best, and their special attack is amazing.

You should do some cost levelised tests. For example, versus when they have equal pop, equal resources spent, equal favour.
Not only that but their place in the meta and viability, just because x unit beats y unit doesn't make it better as whole.

No Mummy's Cannot use their Special attack against all Hero units, it works just against Hippolyta Hero, it's a known bug. I guess it's fixed with the Extended version.
Well the Extended edition has some very bad bugs that they dont fix so dont count on it.
Mainly graphical bugs.

" The Mummy" even made this game more interesting. There are three kinds of myth unit in the movie: Anubite, Scorpion man, and Minions.The minions in the movie was super strong. And Rick O'Connel is definitely a hero!

The best Myth Units in my opinion for "group" combats and versatility:
Fire Giants
Heka Gigantes
Chimeras
Revengers (I didnt give credit to this unit while instead is insanely strong and what scary is that it costs ... wood)

I'd say Centaur is best greek unit. Heka Gigant is best Alt unit, Petsudos is the best egypt unit. Fire giant is the best Norse myth unit. White tigers is the best China unit. lmo. most of the myth units in the game need buffs. They either cost too much population, have to little stats(ad/health) or their ability has too high of cooldown on their special ability.

the laser crocodiles are really great just not in melee but as an artillery really good love them also for defense you place them behind your walls and they just laser your foes away

A bit late to this, but even though they aren't the strongest I always found fun uses for the anubites. As an example, while the army would be seiging a wall I would have the anubites target something on the other side, jump over, and then use meteor or something on top of the town center. Their utility to get around defenses to harass villagers is what I found most useful

The Sphynx is also a fast unit which means you can just snipe buildings and they cost Food so you can spam them.
These videos are nonsense but i watch them anyway coz i love aom

@@petertomszabo6268 They are nonsense because they're not balanced by cost or by terrain. Watch some Spirit of the Law to see how tests like these should be conducted. Comparing a war elephant to a halberdier will always result in the war elephant winning... because it's worth way more than a halberdier. Balance for resources and the halberdiers actually win.
@@sniperdubey Also because in this video they don't factor the viability of each unit and how good they are in an actual game. Anubites are used more than sphinx in real games, if im not mistaken.
The big issue i have with you assessment of prices is simply put that food is worth the least ammout due to it being infinitely available to all civs. Sure there is trade making wood technically the most important resource, but the fact remains that gold is the most scarce of all the resources map wise, making it worth more than food. I would say 100 gold equals 125 wood and 175 food in general.
I wonder if any of your test areas had some wonky results due to terrain elevation changes. Units attacking others on high ground do less damage and vice versa, in many RTS games. I'll have to learn if that's the case with AoM...
I looked it up online. So far, the sources I've come across all indicate that many ranged units deal bonus damage to units that are at a lower elevation than they are. I humbly suggest that any future test areas you use have a 100% flat terrain area so there's no wonky bonus stuff affecting your tests. :)
stacking range with wadjet, petsuchos, slingers, and priests, has always been my favorite strategy. those units are kinda meh on their own but collectively they just destroy
I see at 4:29 that the Phoenix can be instantly killed by the Mummy's special ability? Can it along with other flying myth units be instantly killed by the Medusa's special ability or does her special ability only work on ground and maybe water units?
Ignore the above comment. I found out myself that the Medusa's instant-kill ability doesn't work on flying myth units unlike the Mummy but does work on water myth units which the Mummy also does.

loved the test but may i point out you didnot take into account , the value the units gives or mention if it has upgrades or which god are you choosing that i am sure will make the results differ , anbuite units are great for harrasement and sniping villagers and archers , scorpion man does actually way better if faced with way bigger armies because of his ability so maybe try a small army size and a big one with 2 units , also each myth unit should be tested against their age upgraded human units

Problem with the war turtle is it special attack animation take so long units get alot of free hits on it
I noticed, the mummy always insta killed the phoenix, so what would happen, if it target a regular unit, how the result would change

Honestly I'd have to put the Mummy as the best unit in the Mythic Age. It is the most cost efficient and it one shots heroes lol. You can't get much better than that.

Agains melle units phoenix are the best. But Putshehos Ra (Crocodile) has long distance damage like catapolt. Scarb are strong agains buildings but if he fight against units and die, Scarb has poison and do damage to units.

My favorite of all is the sphynx: fast, reasonable price and good both against units and buildings. Amass 25 or 30 sphynxes and throw them against the IA base with the eclipse power active, and the IA will be dead.

I think the crocdile would be best as gold through trade routes are very good in AOM since you can trade with your own town center
It gives less gold if you trade with your own town center. If you trade with ally, it gives more gold for the same distance.

@@zebfirehd9102 yes me too, the trade pays more. But I'm telling you if you trade with ally instead of your town center, you receive more gold for the same distance. And if you play as Egyptian and put the pharaon on the market, it gives 25 percent more gold for every trade made. For example if your trade is bringing 400 gold to your market, you will receive 500.

anubites should have been better, but they can jump over walls and anubis has really cool upgrades... also like the scorpions they are here because developpers are fans of the mummy return

Mummy kicks Avenger ass. That's the one you want!
Except mummy sucks against anything else that isn't myth units. They dont kill human soldiers fast, in fact human soldiers with upgrades kill them quickly. Theyre slow, terrible vs buildings and super easy targets for heroes. Mummies are kind of a counter unit to mythical age myth units and nothing more. The Avenger is a much better unit overall, even if it loses 1v1 to the Mummy.
But the petsuchos is strong when you have lot of them to one shot something !

@@Nexotic0 well that and it puts them in easy melee range. Petsuchos' range is really high, and starting them off next to the other units doesn't do them justice. They're so strong because you can weaken or kill units before they even get into range. It's not even a question of micromanagement.

Since you don't play Egyptians often, it is obvious why you didn't choose the right units. With strategy, the best units are Anubites, Petsuchos and Phoenix. As for the Roc, it is invaluable in all my games. Mummies are completely useless.

No. I played yesterday, I attacked during the heroic age with 8 sphinxes and some axemen. I DESTROYED the town in 2 minutes.
