Great video ! Thanks
Very useful n helpful ..thank you very much🎉❤
Wow, You can cover alot of real estate on the fretboard without stretching your fingers at all. Very cool! I need a mandolin. The older I get the harder it is to play guitar. Im still able to play in a band but sometimes its painful so maybe the mandolin is a good instrument to transition to in retirement. Any suggestions for this ?
Mandolin is fun but I’m not sure it will be much easier on your hands. I definitely get some pain in my left thumb if I’m not mindful of my technique when playing mandolin. Who knows though, maybe some light strings combined with the small scale could make it a good fit for you!
I've played guitar for almost 40 years in bands on and off and just for myself. I also played bass in several bands. I just started playing mandolin about a month ago and it isn't easier on my hands at all. 4 finger chop chords have been tough. And just the overall string tension for finger chords is harder. But it's so worth it to learn this instrument. Haha!
55 years playing the guitar and I feel your hands pain, got the same. I feel mandolin is easier to play for sure and very enjoyable. I still play both and I can tell you playing the guitar takes effort, mandolin never does other than when playing for hours. Forget 4 finger chop chords, it will never happen so learn 2 and 3 finger chords for chop and play lots of melody. Also, get a 1 3/8 neck instead of std 1 1/8. Be aware mandolins are expensive and you quickly get mandolin acquisition fever. Mandolin cafe is the absolute best site. Good luck
Maddie is a bad ass! Oh not talking about her mandolin or heck even guitar skills. I'm talking about her NBA caliber hands in regards to coffee filters! If you know, you know!
You said it! Her coffee skills are unparalleled.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉😮
Wow an hour long! Movie night
She really likes scales… lol
@@HayesGriffin understandable and relatable
I agree scales can be an absolute powerhouse knowledge of the fingerboard. if it's a violin double bass six string electric 12 string acoustic I mean scales just opens the a whole New world, a bag of tricks and then of course you. You got hammerones and pull-offs which you can transform into your trills caution. There's a whole bag of other good techniques as well. My gosh I could go on and on. Enjoy improvis too your hearts content
