It seems like just a few days since your last video, Katie. Thank you for this pleasant surprise. Since you call your boss "sir" in this video, I wonder if the UK is more formal in the workplace. I've worked a few jobs here in the US and never called my supervisor "sir" (or "ma'am" for that matter). The company I work for now is very informal and we call everyone by their first name, even our CEO. Our schools seem to be the last hold-out of formality. Growing up, I would never have dared to address my teachers by their first name. They were always Mr. or Mrs. so and so.
oh yes, in schools it's definitely Sir, Mr, Ms etc. and in workplaces... mmm... it's not usual these days but in more high powered work environments it's seen more!
Completely depends on what part of the US. The South still uses Sir and Ma'am as they are considered a basic form of respect.
