Thank you for showing me were I need to connect my cables. I'm in a rush to jump my mom's car and didn't have access to my manual. I checked UA-cam and this video was first on the list. It was perfect! Thank you!!!!! 👍👍😁
Thank you for this video. My Lariat also started to 'go to sleep' also. The auto light feature was not working and the cross traffic didn't work (most of the time). Lucky for me the truck would 'reset' after about 30 minutes and would start. I drove it to the dealer where it 'went to sleep' during the check in process. The dealer had to wait for the reset to be able to move it. After a few day they 'found' there is a short in the fuse block and it needs to be replaced. The cross traffic issue needed an update to the computer. The short caused the battery to drain enough to cause the 'sleep' mode. Ford Engineering was contacted with various error codes. Hope some of this extra info helps with other Maverick owners. Yes, I do really like this truck just hope the dealer replacing the fuse block will solve this issue.
I just bought my new 2024 Ford Marverick and I wasn't even thinking about jump-starting. I saw your video and found it helpful for when the time comes ...

Life saver. I don’t have a Maverick, but I pulled in to the side of the road to help and elderly couple with one. We were having a hard time finding that negative connection for the battery.
The 12 volt source was loose and got disconnected from the battery so it wasn't charging. Maybe it wasn't fully tightened when it was built and has worked it's way loose with driving. It will be interesting to see if it happens again. I will know what to look for next time.
Thank you so much for the easy to follow instructions. It's super cold today and my 2023 maverick hybrid battery qiut on me twice. I have been using the back seat location and now I can do it under the hood the normal way. So happy. Great video👍
Thanks for the video! Two things: 1) a hybrid doesn't have a traditional alternator, so you'll have to take that into account if the jump box has an alternator indicator on it. 2) There are a few reports of the hybrids having a bad solder connection in the wiring between the 12v and hybrid batteries. I don't think there is a service bulletin on it yet, although that may be coming. Anyway, this is something worth having the dealer check if power loss problems continue.
I read some of the forums talking about this deep sleep issue and suggesting to keep a battery tender on it all the time if it is going to sit for any length of time. Most are suggesting to connect the battery tender to the 12v battery under the seat. I just bought one of these trucks and I don't want to be stranded anywhere. If these are using the Toyota hybrid system, it doesn't have an alternator. From what I understand the electric motor that drives the wheels switches over to charging mode once the vehicle start moving. I heard this is an issue if you take a lot of short trips
Thanks for the video! Just bought a NOCO battery jumper in case my hybrid suddenly dies (seems to be a common problem now). I knew where to jump it at but always nice to see it in action.

Yes, but it's not worth the risk. Repairs are too much and too time-consuming to take the risk unless absolutely necessary. It is better to find an alternate solution.
Asking for a friend 😅. What happens if you try to jump start on the positive and the negative looking thingy near it instead of that random frame bolt? Or can it jump start from the battery in the passenger seat?
I dont drive my cars much, so i use a solar battery tender to trickle charge. Curious if there is a certain way to trickle charge this alien techniogy. I read about the deep sleep and would like to avoid
I see this all the time. People think that the car only have the main hybrid battery and it will last forever sitting there. What they don't realize is there also have a 12v battery that will drain over time because of modern electronics. No matter if it is a Prius or a Maverick you should start it up at least twice a week to keep the battery fresh and charged. It will also make your 12 volt battery last a lot longer.
Awesome RG《☆》Interesting👍🛎✔I thought the Engine battery could be jumped automatically by the Main batteries. Apparently the main batteries were drained as well. Maybe an accessory was left on or a Short somewhere. Hopefully something dumb like a Kids Notebook left plugged in to a USB port🖖🤓🏈
It appears there’s an open wiring connector next to the positive connection which is likely not there from the factory. Possibly an add-on which stayed on and ran the battery down?
It does not have a starter. If the 12 V battery goes dead you can disconnect it and charge it individually. It is located underneath the rear passenger seat. Is watching.
There is a braking issue Ford is working on a software update. Slow speed braking is jerky such as when trying to pull out into traffic from a parking lot. Any new braking from 6.2 mph or less is jerky due to a miss communication between regenerative and disk braking.
My 2023 maverick also goes dead, 4th time already, anyone has found the cause of it? something is draining the battery while parked. I wonder what could it be and maybe if disconnecting the fuse that causes it can fix it
None of the gazillion Mav uploads have shown where the under hood posts are, nor have they popped open the 12V battery cover. Valuable!! Re the riddle of the 13.5 V. It could be Ford feels that a "slow charge" is adequate. As in, what's the rush. The alternator talk in the comments is hilarious. The big electric motor serves as a generator making moot the no alternator admonishing.
That engine has no alternator ... it is a DC-to-DC converter to charge the 12v battery back up from the HEV ... do your homework. Also, when connecting the NOCO boost pack, you should crank the vehicle within 60 seconds of connecting the boost ... do your homework/ read the users manual. If the "deep sleep" mode is recurring, you have a completely faulty 12v battery or a bad cell on the battery.
