"I'm off the chop train." Ok, who are you, and what have you done to our beloved PotatoMcWhiskey? I feel like I'm watching the Potato version of the old Looney Toons Episode Invasion of the Bunny Snatchers.
I chopped one out at least once a day throughout my 20s. In my early 30s now and I just find that the shine has worn off. Nothing wrong with chopping though
Now looking back at civ6 having recently played a lot of 5 and with 7 on the horizon, I think not being able to place districts over strat.res. is just an unnecessary design restriction. If I put the district there before, I still get the resource after the fact, so why not just screw it and be able to place it on top of it anyway. It doesn’t make games more fun by changing things up, imho; it’s just frustrating. Same goes for the UI; my UI/UX mods where deactivated recently and it was just dreadful. Better map tacks, policy cards, lenses, quick trading etc. pp…. It’s just so basic; why does it have to be a mod???
The temptation to rush shipbuilding and send settlers blind into the Bermuda Triangle and settle russian roulette would be strong for me in this game ( I did this as the Maori on archepelego)
The gold from trade routes passing through Reyna's city, does not appear as a factor on the gold amount of the trade route, because it is earned at the city level, not the trade route level.
Something I can't even explain to myself: I have the day off and Civ 6 installed, yet I'm preferentially watching you play all day instead of booting up my own game.
Aww Potato 🥔 how kind and generous of you with this gift to celebrate Anaanap's birthday! Much appreciated! 🤗✨ lots of love from Denmark - how time has flied since I found you here! 🎉
It's actually worth a lot of Envoys because of all the influence points you get. Also it helps by giving you extra yields if you have 3 or 6 Envoys in it. So for an owls of minerva game it is really important to have one
I really enjoy and appreaciate your videos and narration, I am learning a lot from you. Many of your advises stuck and helped to improve my game - not that fast though, I started on Warlord level a year ago and feel comfortable on King level now. But I am very happy with the progress! The tips are very handy and I also share it with my boyfriend during our hot seat multiplayer games! :) Thank you, keep up the good and entertaining channel! Cheers from Hungary.
I want to see the chicken pizza in the capital so bad. It'll only be a three or four rainforest pizza but boy will those fertilised tiles look JUICY Edit: That discussion happened the minute after i wrote my comment. Damn
I clicked just knowing you had Bermuda in your capital LMAO you should have added the More Seaside Districts to this too, the Boardwalk would easily fix your lack of food from ocean tiles
Maybe I should have waited to post that last comment, because not only has Potato been replaced, but so has the AI... Who knows, maybe just to taunt him (because he has NO mountains remotely even near him), the AI won't build Machu Picchu either...
Hey Potato! I recently finished a similar Science game as Germany, where I spawned next to Galapagos Islands and also got Mausoleum. Killed nearby Georgia off early, then had lots of room to expand. Was lots of fun 😁
So you want big yields you say? Play an Inca game using sanctuary and earth goddess to boost mountains since every mountain is breathtaking. Combine with the stepped farms for extra fun and food.
I know im late but i really love your vids. The way you talk and think keeps me stuck and definitely entertained. Gonna finish this series and back to your recent vids. Im stuck in your channel.
I just had 2 MP Games where in each game someone had galapagos islands and mausoleum in one city. it's not as insane as bermuda triangle but still :D lots of fun...
I've been there before. It can be nice, just getting to crap out a Great Admiral and improve or create a Naval unit just...because (I settled a bunch of coastal cities and rushed Harbors).
Purchase traders too because there’s no production card for them. Builders, military, settlers, encampment/harbor buildings, should never be purchased since there’s production available cards for them
that's maybe the best Bermuda Triangle I've ever seen. Can I ask what's the logic behind a Harbor and a Commercial hub in Kokomo? Wouldn't putting something like the Apadana there get way more value?
new here and really enjoying your Civ vids. Already learned tonnes from you and have become MUCH better at the game so ty! One question. What mod are you using that shows the other civs stats under their icons on the top? It shows their military and culture and science and such and would like it so as well :)
Its actually not even a mod its part of the base game, you go into the options and i think its labeled as display banner yields or something like that in the ui settings, its been a year, so you probably already figured it out but thought i would try to help just in case
Hello Potato! Idk if it was recommended before, but have you heard about the GoldenAge-Brave New World mod? I only recently started playing with it as well, but its a heavy overhaul on the gameplay and mechanics; basically a modpack by itself, and it's very fun. If you would like to, and if you are okay with bigger mods, me personally would love to see a series with it!
I love AIs that have TONS of science but somehow falls behind, it's like AI switches governments as much as possible so their production really doesn't produce.
I don't know if you said something about it before Potato, but what is your opinion on this mod which allows all strategic and luxury resources to be harvested, thus removed from the map? Should it be possible to remove them or is this too much of a cheat? I mean, I always thought it is really annoying when to want to build a wonder in later aeras and it gets screwed by the early game horses... Especially with the strategic resources, I don't see a point why they are not removeable.
The Bermuda Triangle is not "semi-real". It involves a toroidal wormhole into alternate "areas" (dimensions / universes). Research "vile vortices" 😉 Great video BTW 💯
when the iron popped up im like omg there is a SWEET IZ in there replace commercial hub with aquaduct and move the government plaza to the right and cha ching +7 IZ posssibly +9 if you place another city of the other river and double aquaduct the IZ
I never look at the thumbnail..........err...I do read the text but never go with my face to the screen to see what is actually going on in the thumbnail.......
Um, I guess I'm not like most of your viewing audience Potato. I flat out NEVER pick any one of your civ videos simply because of the thumbnail. I pick your civ videos pretty much entirely upon the title I guess ... And the expectation of the quality and content that you usually provide obviously ... There are times when I choose not to continue watching any new videos in a series ... most often when you put an outrageously annoying click-bait title on your video or something obviously not intended for my viewing pleasure. Which happens far too often imo ... not like every other video, but like maybe 1 out of 5 or 6. I just avoid those and move on because I figure I'm just not wired the same way as some of your audience who might like that sort of thing.
Potato: Ok, looks like this is a science game!
Also Potato on Turn 104: *No campuses built, builds Industrial Zone before a +4 campus*
My Science pivot is going to break your dog damn ankles Tim you just watch
@@PotatoMcWhiskey I watch the live streams, I believe it. I just love how unorthodox you’re playing this go around.
@@PotatoMcWhiskey i procrastinate on my science hwk. u procrastinate on science districts xD

he IS building mausoleum lol
This game is a great example of why you don’t research strategic resource techs until you absolutely need to lol

liked the scaling back, you had very ambitious cities and now it is easier to pick what order things happen in
"I know who you are!" Sounded like a threat and a compliment. :)
"Not that we need Leif Erikson, but we can use him to explore."
You know what? That's fair.
I feel like potato always hypes up the importance of the diplo quarter way more than it’s actually worth
WRONG
It's actually worth a lot of Envoys because of all the influence points you get. Also it helps by giving you extra yields if you have 3 or 6 Envoys in it. So for an owls of minerva game it is really important to have one
For diplo civs, the diplo quarter can basically make or break the entire game. The extra influence points are crucial
It's actually a dog water district if you turn off all the city states.

23:27 VERY true. I am certain our leaders don't actually think when governing our country. Potato actually thinks and makes excellent decisions

I reeeealy like this district before mass setter different from normal
Thanks for the game...great hearing you talk through why you're doing stuff. Unadvertised overexplained game.
Hi potato is the tile planner a mod?I'm new to this game love the vids!
Potato going to end up with like 10 Greal Admirals by the end of the game.

„never“ - no, eg golden age with 30% discount you can/should buy builders/settlers
Also if your rocking lots of gold... Why not.
this is actually my first time to know that Reiner can enhance the trade route (foreign) owned by the player. That is good
He mixed up foreign and international.
Mausoleum in the northern city next to the acropolis would be so much better! Love the games keep up the good work!

Do a acuaduct and a industrial zone in your capital
Get a canal between rhodes and miletos, with double IZ on both sides for the glorious Venetian Arsenal?

Its a cool mod
Do naval units disappear in the Bermuda Triangle?
yes lmao
well, they get teleported to the other side of the map.
Why not just buy the tile where the warrior won't move?
Reyna doesn't work for your trade routes as I see, just for trade routes of other players, coming through city with Reyna. Or am I wrong?
I would just like to point out that the game tried sending a hurricane to wipe out the capital. The Atlantis legends are real this game. (joking)

The Bermuda Triangle is not "semi-real". It involves a toroidal wormhole into alternate "areas" (dimensions / universes).

18 sci/turn and the Khan is at 131 sci/turn...I would've quit right there, like how do you ever catch that?
the scientific city states are going to make it easy
The ai doesn't build correctly... If you play your game right with good district placement the snowball occurs...

Comment for the UA-cam algorithm god.
Why not put the encampment on the hill next to Dido's City? Blocks her land path to your city
God damn it, I paused the video to ask this question and you answered it the second I hit play 🙄
Whats going on with this name ,,Kolorowe Kredki'' im Polish and im wondering who is suggesting that name on every game :)
