You forgot to mention the Padres Pitching Coach, Ruben Niebla.
RN has been instrumental since he got to SDP in 2021. He has been a teacher especially to Snell (CY Young), Lugo, Wacha, and Martinez. This will be important to the new acquired arms for SDP.
Both teams got their wants and needs, I believe the Padres just got the better deal.

This is what makes this deal more impressive, I think the padres might win this deal in the long run
They both needed to make this trade. But the Yankees better pay Soto next year to come back. He is going to add revenue there are tons of Dominican fans in New York
I don’t think they will resign him considering Scott Boras has been adamant about Soto hitting the open market.

They need the Martian back we saw just a sample size of what his switch hitting bat is gonna mean in the middle of this lineup plus able to not burn out & protect Judge every day in center field cause we all know Stanton is gonna get injured so the DH will be utilized for Judge..👍🏽

That lineup will do damage next year especially when Dominguez comes back to slot in there.

@@SmartrBaseball top 10 if every player besides Soto and judge hit a little better than what they did last season now they have a solid 1-2 -3-4 and the lefty,righty combination remember im talking about the lineup I put together
@@scottd99 and would slot him at the top for I see Dominguez as a potential lead off hitter or a table setter you know a little bit of power and speed with a little zone awareness and then when he gets older I might move him to 3-4 spot depending on how he progresses

.Michael King is on the cusp of being a star starting pitcher and we gave him away for a 1 year rental.
Well, if you are going to put it like that, and include the 2 other major league pitchers, not prospects, included in the deal - yeah, it sounds bad.
But, if you realize how many more tickets Soto can sell then Michael King, etc. - then, you can see the "wosdom" of the deal.
They will definitely do everything they can to resign him I don’t think they would of made the trade without being confident about resigning him in free agency

After the Othani deal the Yankees are in trouble 😂 cause now Scott Boras is gonna ask crazy amount of cash for another player. You say Soto is the kind of bat, you can build a lineup around.
-For your benefit, let's skip over the part where the Yankees have this guy for only one year - and that might not be enough time to "build" anything.
-But go ahead, and give me some examples from the last 50 years of team's that "build" a championship team around one bat. (Cue Jeopardy theme).
How did "building" around Trout and Othani work out for the Angels?
The one year rental risk is a big part of this for sure, I'd say you need at least the one superstar hitter for a great lineup, don't know if you agree or disagree. And as far as the Angels I don't think they built around Trout/Ohtani, didn't develop young guys around them and only really added Rendon (and that's gone great lol)

The main reason is because Scott Boras wants him to hit the open market in FA, but yeah I doubt he wanted to stick around for the massive rebuild the Nats are doing.
Soto turning down that contract inversely set up the Nationals to succeed in the future with all the stud prospects the Padres sent over

Just like the Mets, the Yankees have an owner that wants to invest in his team to win. It's good for baseball. What isn't good is having cheap owners that want socialist revenue sharing from teams over the tax threshold. That's just corrupt opportunism and quite ironic coming from rich people like these owners.
If the yankees manage to trade for a solid pitcher and rodon/nestor be healthy they will be fine
Sure, if the Yankees can add more Grade A players, they will be fine. Of course, you could said that any time during the last 10 years (or 120 years).
