Hahaha , I bet I have watched the whole Miami Vice series at least 10 times and could just about tell you every thing that's fixing to happen on it. Man that was a great show and the 80s were awesome.
I Remember that episode myself, Glynn. Plus I remember the Pepsi commercials that Glenn did with Don Johnson. Man, was Miami Vice groundbreaking and fascinating or what? I' ll never forget it-and the late great Glenn Frey.
I did 10 yrs in Law Enforcement. Friday nights I carried a small portable TV 8 inch screen in my SWAT bag lol. My dinner hour was parked in a hidden place watching Miami Vice. Great times.
Rip glenn u made all enjoy the eighties ...smugglers blues and your member of eagles thank you so much on showing milliums what true great music you gave left tbem fro. 70 to 80s
Yeah I sometimes forget that Glenn is from my home state because the Eagles not only started out in LA but they're also associated with being West Coast Rock/Country. But he's from Detroit originally. Same goes for Bob Seger, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin & Madonna.
No music hit its peak 1966-1980 but yeah the 80s were pretty good. It has devolved considerably since. But what were the millennials supposed to do? Music is hugely important culturally speaking. How were they going to top the Beatles, the Stones, Aerosmith? The list goes on and on. Advancement had come to an end as perfection was reached. Same thing happened to classical. The only place for it to go was down. And as we are all painfully aware it went down hard. You'd think that diversification provided by the internet would bring it back and maybe it has but I'm too goddamn lazy to look it up.. Wow a whole 2 paragraph that say absolutely nothing....I blame society because I live in Oregon and we're required to ingest enormous quantities of pot here. Apologies for wasting your time, straining your eyes or otherwise inconveniencing you.
This song proves time travel is possible. Close your eyes while listening and your instantly teleported back to a far better time and place. What sucks is our body doesn't go to. The song ends, you open your eyes and realize your in the same old shit.
It has taken all this time to accept that I live in a world without Glenn. He is still all around me from the very first Eagles song I heard- Take It Easy. I have been going back and listening to Eagles songs. Intentionally to pick out Glenn's vocals and piano and guitar. It hurts when I discover something new. I miss you, brother. You did real real good.
When you listen to the lyrics and picture the stories in your head - Hotel California, Life In The Fast Lane, Smugglers Blues - Glenn had such a knack for capturing the allure of the easy and fast and fun life with all the pitfalls that come with it.
Glenn was BAD-ASS...His tunes, his voice, his guitar riffs. In the Eagles... His singing voice is iconic and shall live forever. Great actor in the few parts he played as well! LOVE GLENN!

It's official. My favorite MTV video of all TIME.
I remember the Miami Vice episode he was in (one of the best, of a very mixed bunch). He was great in it.
Listening to this always makes me think of it as the sequel to Life In The Fast Lane, also written by Glenn.
you are right
good thought!
"Be cool for 20 hours and I'll pay you 20 grand"That's great.
Yeah but, U sitting on 20 keys, and word travels
A grand an hour, not bad
Lotta Pressure!
U can't be trusted
+Kevin Christianson...so true.so true. It's all part of the game
I love Glenn. What a voice
Yes the good ol' day's the 80's was beautiful and deadly at the same time
Very grateful to those who put this up.
Dammit I miss the 80s! it was low-tech but we had fun anyway.
Starting to think "high-tech" is the reason we dont any longer.
Yes, life was very different then.. Hanging out at the lake, if you wanted to slide into a DM, you got up and walked over 4 a face 2 face. Old school facetime.. 😎😳😎
@@benjammin4247 great response!!
best concerts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More high tech you are the less you use your imagination and make good music!
God I miss the 80s and Miami vice the greatest show of the 80s
I wish the 80s were still alive! Man, I had the best time.
Got that rite. Thats when shit was REAL
It went from cocaine to rogaine
@@upppyours8219 LOLOLOLOL Yup!

This is what music should be. At 64 I still remember when these songs came out and to this day the best music there is
Sure Miss the 80s, nothin but good Times.
Thanks for putting this back up. I watched the Miami Vice episode where this song played and Glenn acted as the pilot and backup gun man. Great song. Glenn Frey is the man.
He'll yes
Anyone seen, Let's get Harry, with Mark Harmon and Glenn Frye?
Thank you, Glenn Frey was so amazing...............and Beautiful!
Great song , great groove, listen to it alot , thanks Glen Frey for giving up this masterpiece 🎉
The 1980s at it's popular Music's best.❤ G.F.'s Smuggler's Blues.

Glenn Frey was a true artist and incredible musician an excellent songwriter
Rip glenn u made all enjoy the eighties ...smugglers blues and your member of eagles thank you so much on showing milliums what true great music you gave left tbem fro. 70 to 80s
Oh yeah Buddy..
I used to think that was some bs story that was simply passed around for good humor......WRONG!
I listened to this song on repeat for two days at work once, and wasn't at the least bored. A true 80's masterpiece
MTV NEEDS TO COME BACK . THE VIDEOS WERE SO GOOD
They sold themselves to Rob, it’s too late for that 😂
Just videos ONLY. Yes
Michigan's own Glenn Frey! R I P
Yeah I sometimes forget that Glenn is from my home state because the Eagles not only started out in LA but they're also associated with being West Coast Rock/Country. But he's from Detroit originally. Same goes for Bob Seger, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin & Madonna.
The 80's music was the best
Ratt, Dokken, Tesla, Queensryche, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Skid Row, Firehouse, Y&T. That was real music.
A genius with the pen, voice and music!
😇
It has taken all this time to accept that I live in a world without Glenn.
He is still all around me from the very first Eagles song I heard- Take It Easy.
I have been going back and listening to Eagles songs.
Intentionally to pick out Glenn's vocals and piano and guitar.
It hurts when I discover something new.
I miss you, brother.
You did real real good.
What a song, what a video and what a decade. 80sss :)
Love this song, but the video so real. I, still listen to it. Wow, miss the 80s. ❤❤❤😮😊😊
RIP Mr. Frey & thanks for such great music & memories!
I miss Glenn Frey he's from my hometown Royal Oak Michigan
" It's the politics of contraband, it's the smugglers blues "
When you listen to the lyrics and picture the stories in your head - Hotel California, Life In The Fast Lane, Smugglers Blues - Glenn had such a knack for capturing the allure of the easy and fast and fun life with all the pitfalls that come with it.
Glenn was BAD-ASS...His tunes, his voice, his guitar riffs.
In the Eagles... His singing voice is iconic and shall live forever.
Great actor in the few parts he played as well! LOVE GLENN!
Great song! Glenn was phenomenal! I’m constantly amazed with the rich stories in his songs and his vocabulary was spectacular! You don’t hear music like this anymore. “The ultimate enticement...it’s the smuggler’s blues!”
you want vocabulary in music, try Paul Simon, He is brilliant. This song has always been a favorite of mine as well.
I remember when Glen played a cocaine cowboy ( smuggler) on Miami Vice featuring this song
Actually a pilot
Remember when music videos had story lines, instead of dancing the whole way through?
Song is timeless..
