Captain Kazzley You have got your information all upside down sport. Murderers are not heroes. In NE Victoria there were 14,500 people. Kelly supporters numbered no more than about 250. 2% of the population. The majority of the residents loathed Kelly and his Greta Mob thugs. Constable Fitzpatrick did not need to have a warrant on his possession to arrest Dan Kelly. That right of police to arrest in those circumstances remains to this day. Your information is WRONG. Fitzpatrick was invited inside her home. He was there to execute a warrant, and he was behaving lawfully. He was standing up alongside Dan Kelly when Ellen Kelly attacked him with a fire shovel, knocking him unconscious, while at the same time Ned Kelly shot at him 3 times, hitting him in the wrist. Your understanding of Kelly's criminality is woeful sport.
My Favourite song of ALL TIME! I always say this is the best song out of thepossible hundreds of thousands that I've heard in my lifetime. I think it's because it's so close to being spiritual in its notes and its content of the end of this life.
I remember doing a project in primary school about Ned Kelly. Not too long ago my eldest daughter found it and asked who he was. I was shocked to find they hadn't covered it at all at school. We decided to detour on our way back from Melbourne to Sydney and stop in at all the key sites known in the story. You can still see Lonigan's grave in Mansfield and its quite well preserved. Stringybark creek is not signed however it is easily enough found following the old dirt roads out the back of Glenrowan. There are a few maps available in the museum and a recreation of the Kelly family hut behind it. The most interesting thing of all is the Glenrowan inn that burnt down has not been touched since the fire, Its ghostly to look at given the town has still been constructed around it. If you are ever on the Hume and have a spare 4 hours plan a tours and educate your children, then when you get home watch the film with them. There isn't a lot left these days in the old Melbourne Goal but still worth the stop in. I unfortunately didn't get the chance. I cant remember if they still have Ned's armor in there or not.

Zack, schools should not be lauding a criminal like Ned Kelly. He was a serious criminal, murderer, bank robber, hostage taker, stand over thug, and liar. Who else would you like to see in schools for kids to learn about? Ivan Milat, Karl Williams, the Moran family? You have to have a very low IQ if you think Kelly was anything but a serious criminal.
