If the iron is a beginner bike, I suppose I’ll be a beginner forever. I absolutely love my Harley

Same here. In the world of Harley though sportsters are called beginner bikes, though I find that subjective.

It’s not good beginner bike for most people, but it’s a good beginner for Harley’s die hard fans. It’s the lightest, cheapest( street series not included), with smallest engine output, but be one of the coolest looking, with most mods parts and with a most simple and reliable engine. I started my bike with a 883 and never regretted.

I would agree that Sportsters are not exactly beginner bikes. But if it is your first bike, you will be able to ride anything after you learn on a Sportster :)

The weight of the bike immediately killed it for me. Thanks for the video mate.

Yeah there are definitely lighter options out there. The rebel 1100 looks to be the real deal with less weight

@@IronBornRider Thanks for being the only video I've seen talking about why not to get it and actually making good points. Every person I've talked to has said nothing but wonders about the 883. But I'm pretty sure none of them have owned one. I live in Wisconsin so the HD bias is real. I'm gonna checkout the Rebel.

@@MrHankHill yeah I hear you. I guess it’s relative, because the iron is smaller and lighter than all the HDs, but as a first bike?! 500+ lbs is pretty daunting.

@@IronBornRider Looked at a few in my are and the prices are way better than the 883's. Thanks again for the tip!

I think if you buy a rebel you will regret not buying the sportster. if you buy a sportster you will NOT regret not buying the rebel.

I definitely don’t regret buying a sportster, it really suits me. I think if I had a rebel I’d be looking to get on a sportster or at least a streetbob. Thanks for the comment!

To be honest though you can rebuild it to a 1250 wich will be more bike than most can handle
