What is the warranty on the product…concerned about fading with sun exposure or possibly reacting to chemical I.e pesticide treatments, herbicide treatments, etc.
Awesome! I want to use this stuff, but do you have to buy their starter strip or can you just use regular starter strip? Also, can you get away without using the ledge and ledge corner?? It’s gonna put me way over budget if I have to buy the ledge, wondering if the vinyl siding will just clip on there or maybe just using another starter strip…
@@MichaelMosesthanks so much for that on the starters. Someone else said you had to use their starter. Good to know you don’t. And I didn’t mean the corners, I meant the ledge, top finishing piece. I was just wanting to go from the Novik stone to the vinyl siding with no ledge in between to avoid cost. I really do appreciate your help!
Hey Kim and Michael, great job you two. I have a couple questions and I was wondering if you are standing up close does it actually look like real stone or can you tell that it is a vinyl Stone? And the second question is can you bring this to a narrow point where it will still look natural, thank you!
I’m doing a space that’s roughly 6x8 feet with a 32 inch door in the middle and it cost me almost $500. This will be the first and last project I use this stuff.
Pretty much yes, but when you are cutting you must tilt the grinder slightly so the piece has a small mitre on it, angled from the good size/"finished face" to the back..if that makes sense. It helps to "hide" the cut from the finish face.
excellent friend, very creative to work and teach children, please if you can help me tell me exactly the specification of the product to be able to order it at home depot, thanks in advance, regards
Hi Lavon, unfortunately it would not be suitable for a circular structure. It does "bend" but not in the way you'd need. It would be very difficult to keep the edges from protruding so it wouldn't be a smooth nice circular surface!
Yea, they have it at home depot. www.homedepot.com/p/Novik-Ledge-4-13-in-x-30-75-in-Premium-Ledge-in-Weathered-Blend-10-04-lin-ft-per-Box-Trim-Trim-Plastic-Siding-267000003/308658043
We got the from Home Depot. 189/box. NovikStone DS panel is 41.5" L x 13.13" H (105.41 cm L x 33.34 cm H), a box contains 10 panels and covers approximately 25 sq. ft. (2.34 m2).
Just finished hiding our house's ugly brick facade with Novik Artisan Cut. What Novik never mention: everytime you cut a panel horizontaly, the part that you cut off is 100% wasted. We bought 30 pieces. According to our calculations, we only needed 25. Well....we bought 43 panels in total. Going around doors, windows, garage doors...etc wastes a lot of panel. Also, here in Canada, their distribution totally sucks. Novik sales to Mitten and Mitten sales to the hardware store. Everyone takes a cuts. Some details on panels mechanical engineering flaws. Also lead time is about 3 weeks!! Basically, will never use Novik products again
@@MichaelMoses You're pretty funny. Good dad jokes. Mine was a deadbeat. Lol Your audience sounds happy too. Lol @ starter Black guy. Haa You gotta work your way up to Raheem. Lmaoo
You don't get a feel that rain water that gets blown up against the buildi g will run behind the product? Look at the notch they sit into there are weep holes. Water will clearly run down into the notch and weep behind. I almost want to install it upside down.
Yea, you definitely need vapor barrier! The way they lock into each other prevents most of the water getting through. I am sure not too much moisture will seep back there.
Thats the whole point of the furring strips. He is creating an air gap behind the siding, often referred to as a rainscreen installation. I am not a huge fan of his choice of house wrap in combination with the rainscreen but its better than nothing I guess? The rainscreen allows air to get behind the siding and dry out after a heavy rain. Every house with siding gets water behind it, houses without an air gap are the ones you need to worry about.
Yea, unfortunately it is. It works out to about $18.00/panel. And the corners are more expensive but I forget how much. The ledge/sills are about $7.60/ linear ft. so if you are doing a Big/long area, it can add up.
Great video, i am installing tomorrow, thks, you have great patience with the little helpers
So cool seeing dad and his men in the making. I found your channel because of the Novik. Looks great. #Subbed
Thank you. I appreciate that a lot. Look forward to making more videos
Thanks for this video man I've been looking for something like this.
What is the warranty on the product…concerned about fading with sun exposure or possibly reacting to chemical I.e pesticide treatments, herbicide treatments, etc.
The video doesn't show you starting the bottom row. Do you have to install trim on the left side first?
So how do you buy just a couple starter strip, don't need case of 24. What do folks do for small projects

You can definitely use a regular starter strip. Not too sure about the corners though

Does the heat of the BBQ has any effect on those panels.
Thanks

I wish I had a dad to teach me stuff like this. Good thing I have a grandma that does. Lol

Love this, my daughter is my little helper!!
That's great. It's the best kind of help
Where did you get the stone ledge from ?
So the stone siding color is flint , what color did you go with for the little trim piece ?
Great vid. My question is do you do same steps for each corner by cutting sheet straight?
Pretty much yes, but when you are cutting you must tilt the grinder slightly so the piece has a small mitre on it, angled from the good size/"finished face" to the back..if that makes sense. It helps to "hide" the cut from the finish face.
That siding leaks between every vertical seam ! JUNK!
How do you know? You have some?
Siding is cosmetic. It's what you do before siding installatiin that protect the house.

Why the grinder and not a saw?
Does this material bend? I want to build my mom a 4' diameter wishing well so it will be circular.

What are the width dimensions of the corner pieces?
Great job with the kids..
Great Video.
A the sills a Novik product? I don't see them on their website.
Yea, they have it at home depot.

They are insanely pricey but still cheaper than doing real stacked stone🤷♂️

It's called Flint. The ledges are Weathered Stone

Ridiculously expensive plastic product especially the top ledge.

Have you seen novik brick stone similar to that and no motar
The seams are way too visible...
Poorly done. The lathing needs to be on a 45 degree and every 8 inches.
