Game mechanics don’t 🟰 in universe rules. Just because we had to beat the book to get the phone doesn’t mean it’s not canon to the games. After all, phone guy can’t restart at a previous check point when he dies in universe like he can in this book.

Your final sentence is the exact point I'm making in the video, though. He can't reload saves, so any endings that forces him to do that isn't canon. Therefore, the ending where Ralph is using a phone that he's not supposed to have...
It's mostly me playing devil's advocate, at the end of the day.

However the books, while not canon in the games' timeline, were used to figure out the franchise's in-universe rules. Not even just the novels but the graphic novels and the currently running short stories.

"It's me" works really well as a call out of both anger and desperation. They're confused souls, screaming out so that someone, anyone, might hear them.
They can't recognize any adults, so it both works as a "It's me, I'm here! Don't you see me?" As well as a "It's me, your victim. Don't you remember me?"

Yet another one of those accidental strokes of genius from the earliest points in the timeline, honestly. “IT’S ME” is so simple and somehow can have so much depth to it.

    Two ideas:
1: Ralph doesn't die in that first ending, and is in fact saved by Golden Freddy. He then goes back to the restaurant for another week, and to make sure that everything was really okay.
2: The tapes aren't recorded on nights 1 through 4. They're recorded on nights 3 through 6, or if idea 1 is correct, later, to be played on nights 1 through 4.

Honestly I think this book is canon to the games but its doing something FNAF hasn't ever done but other franchises have which is setting the true ending behind a doing a route(s) in the game that don't give you the true ending. An example of this would be adventure games like 999 which forces you to do bad end routes as part of the actual narrative that pushes you towards its canonical finale.
Basically I think we can just assume the dead lady's phone thing is a contrivance that was merely necessary for the format in which the story is told and otherwise these events played out 1:1.

There are a few inconsistencies with Bronwen. (The page numbers are from the physical book, I don’t know if the numbers from are different from digital.)
    1. Bronwen says Bonnie attacked her, but Bonnie doesn’t have blood on him (p. 90). However, Chica is the only animatronic during that night to have blood on herself (p. 99-100). This implies that Bronwen died to Chica not Bonnie unlike what she says
    2. Bronwen somehow knows that Bonnie is Jeremy. There was no way for Bronwen to figure that out specifically even if she knew that the MCI possessed the animatronic, but this can be disproved by when Ralph randomly remembered Susie’s name (p. 120).
    3. You get the message on night 5, five minutes before you hear it. Bronwen should be dead by night 3 as that is the only time we get an intruder and she shows up at the pizzeria during day 3 (p. 67) implying that’s the night she broke in. That is no way for the message to be delivered on night 5.
This problem is why I believe Bronwen on nights 5 and 6 is Golden Freddy as at the end of the message we hear laughter and Golden Freddy is always accompanied by crying (p.195) or laughter (p. 220 and 51).

    • @thepixelman4776
      @thepixelman4776 9 днів тому +3

I feel like she COULD know Jeremy from her research, but then the only way that’d work is if he showed up in her dreams like Mike in the movie, and she never mentioned. Would definitely explain why she seems so random.
Maybe one of the souls in GF, presumably Dave (CC), is trying to stop the others from leaving so they don’t hurt anyone? Maybe he just doesn’t want them to go? And either way, I guess Cassidy doesn’t agree seeing as he still kills Ralph.

@@thepixelman4776 You’re right that Bronwen could have gotten the name through investigation, but I’m not sure how she could have figured out Bonnie was Jeremy. For which spirit it could be I’m leaning toward Cassidy because in our most likely CC appearance he is crying, but in every other Golden Freddy appearance and night 5 and 6 Bronwen we hear laughter.

I honestly think that the book is trying to point towards FNAF 1 being in 1995, which I have mixed feelings about.
Page 57, Ralph mentions that Coppelia's birthday is next month, and since we know that FNAF 1 takes place in November and this book is set exactly 1 week before FNAF 1, Coppelia's birthday would be in December. She's 11 turning 12 years old.
For the old voice recording Ralph/Phone Guy made, if we are to believe that he made that old voice recording was made in 1983, this would make his daughter's date of birth in 1983.
So, if Coppelia was born in 1983, and is turning 12 during the book, the book has to take place in November of 1995 at the latest (because 1983 + 12 = 1995. math)

7:04 In the FNaF 1 hallucinations, both Freddy and Bonnie flash alongside the ITSME text, and given the Pirate’s Cove sign as well.
Given how ethereal the Yellow Bear is, you could probably explain it as CC projecting themselves onto the other robots and objects around the building to try and make his message clearer.
Although why would he be doing this to Phone Guy of all people is my question. Perhaps since he can’t sense anything outside the suit (as shown in the Logbook), he just blindly screams into the void hoping anyone can help him.

In “New Book+” (brilliant name lol), does the “canon” route ever directly state that the phone is Bronwen’s? If not, I’m willing to suspend my disbelief and say that, in this route and this route alone, the phone was always Ralph’s.

Back in the Silver Eyes trilogy it's established that remnant is soul memories. Carlton Burke (him and his family is reimagination of Afton family, him and Charlie do two parts of Michael Afton's journey known in the games, so also Michael Brooks and Sammy do two parts of David Afton's journey known in the games - Michael Afton's little brother), anyway Carlton Burke helps Michael Brooks and his friends to remember who they are, who killed them, put the paper pieces back together, put their memories back together. It's seen again in FNAF movie which adopted bunch of Silver Eyes ideas in different way. Michael Afton does exactly that for his bro David Afton and his friends in FNAF3. The FNAF3 birthday minigame so also FNAF World are all about putting memories back together, helping innocent souls to move on. In one Fazbear Frights book our puppet Charlie helps souls to find their dead bodies, make them remember who they are so then they can possess their animatronics containing their dead bodies otherwise they walk around without any goal not knowing anything who they are, where they are, why they are there.

I think it's important to note that there are some continuity contradictions within the book itself (like Ralph saying he took his daughter to Freddy's when she was 7, as well as him saying he's never taken her to Freddy's at all), so finding out things like when the book takes place based on counting the years based on Coppelia's age and cross-referencing with other lines in the book isn't the most reliable.

Okay im only about 3 minutes in, but I have to say, wasn’t the idea of the withereds being the same as the fnaf 1 animatronics already basically assumed by everyone years ago? The news paper in fnaf 2 already says the old animatronics were going to be reused after they scrapped the toy animatronics.
Sure it doesn’t explicitly say they’re the same, but considering that game was a prequel, it was already an easy assumption that they became the animatronics in fnaf 1.
I don’t think this book was meant to confirm that since it was already acknowledged as fact by everyone as far as I know. It was probably just fun callbacks to that fact.

I think it’s less “oh he’s in a time loop cuz the phone or some other explanation” and more the fact that this place is beyond paranormal, there is reality bending shit going on here. You got Ralph somehow just becoming Freddy because he stared too long, you got vents that don’t make sense and seem to go on for so long that you can die from dehydration in there, you got the master key scene.
My point is we need to not do what we always do, which is drawing weird conclusions to explain the unexplainable. (There is already a video saying that the vents connect to sister location and that’s why they are so long) just accept that NG+ exists for no lore reason except to give Fnaf fans an extra bit of lore to read after completing the story, as well as connecting the book to what happened in the first game.

The Week Before felt more as a breathtake for FNAF books. Why? Because it’s not another Stitchline/Tales Games debate after all.
I have some speculation myself but; I think Cassidy was able to contain Bronwen’s remnant/memories and used it to pretend to be Bronwen. One time in the book, Bronwen referred Bonnie as Jeremy- so I assume the one who broke in and the one who left the recording in Night 3 is the real Bronwen, while the Bronwen in Night 5 is Golden Freddy. And I’m sure that the grown woman might be Cassidy speaking as Bronwen. Sorry, no really sold with Shatter theories (or I might change my mind)
With the book’s canonicity, I think it’s within the Gameline- but you argue about Phone Guy is meant to die around Night 4? Well, it’s been established that he had to go back to record his message for Night 4 since he didn’t during the 4th Night. So after beating Night 5, he goes back to record the message until he dies. That’s pretty much how I make room for it after all.
I don’t wanna be nitpicky, but Coppelia’s timeline seems to suggests that even if she was born in 1983, her birthday is probably on a December, and she’ll turn 12 in December- so this puts FNAF 1 and TWB around 1995. (1995 is the year that was used for The Silver Eyes Novel) Now I guess FNAF1-93 is dead.
Also, it seems like BV is still around at Freddy’s with the MCI. I’m on the idea of “FollowVictim” and the theory where BV follows Shadow Freddy while they follow Mike and William to wherever they go.
Then there’s the Bites… Bite of 83 is know as “The Big Bite”, and it’s funny how both 83 and Bite of 87 were compared to WW1 and WW2 💀
But with Bite of 87, it seems like the books says that Jeremy Fitzgerald is indeed the victim of it- which says that he can’t do anything after that, thus debunking Fitzgerald being anyone. And in the book, a detail about Foxy implies that “Foxy doesn’t bite children” meaning that either Withered Foxy or the Mangle committed the Bite of 87. Since Mangle is Toy Foxy, it seems to lean towards Mangle…
And thus, the Bite of 87 is finally getting the respect it deserves!
So with all that being said, it’s ok to disagree. I’m on the side of TWB being in the Gameline, and all I can say that this book was truly a nostalgic experience that gave us clarifications.
And I did enjoy this video 👍

This is genuinely the only Fnaf book I thouroughly enjoyed, and one of only 2 I can easily accept as part of the game's continuity.
But you're absolutely right that the canon ending feels "wrong" because of the paradox being set up. Even ignoring the mobile phone entirely as crossing over from playthroughs, let's assume that's just a game mechanic - you still don't fix the paradox because the animatronics, after killing Ralph on Night 5, WOULD then escape the restaurant on night 6 and ravage the neighborhood, which would reasonably prevent the game Fnaf1 from happening.
The direction I thought the book was going at first was that Phone Guy was already dead before the book even begins, and that some of the discrepencies would be cleared up by him realizing his current state and passing on - basically the "Bonus Item" just being the vessel to being him to terms with his past, as he goes through the recordings he already made through his final week before being killed on his last night. But if that were true, I feel like the canon ending would make that... clearer, I guess. Would feel less abrupt and weird. Like maybe he would have watched himself die to the onslaught and realize there was no Bronwen, there was no night 6, there was no mobile phone, he's just been caught in a loop - the "amnesia" of the night's events every morning, the repeated use of the visuals of eyes and teeth in abandoned costumes in supposed "dream" sequences (because Ralphs body was supposedly stuffed into a suit in the game), the animatronics being so "suddenly" aggressive and wanting Ralph so desperately dead (because hes already died at their hand, his "mind" is just trying to come to grips with it) etc.
I think it would've cleaned it up really nicely. But as it actually ends, it's very strange

Just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks here, so don't take it as anything definitive, but have you considered the possibility that the "canon" ending could be a Sixth Sense kind of thing? Maybe he does die the first time, but then his soul gets to someohow "restart" without knowing that he's already dead?

I think all the souls from people killed from the animatronics are taken by Golden Freddy. We know you don't immediately die in a suit so you wouldn't possess the suit anyway, especially when there is no endo skeleton in the suit since the animatronics think you are the endo.
So all the souls that don't attach themselves to an actual animatronic it ends up in Golden Freddy, this also explains how Dave found his way into Golden Freddy as he never died in nor stuffed in an animatronic.

im takeing another persons opinion plus with some of my own liberty's with this, but I think the book is setting up things that can happen in the fnaf universe like multiple spirits for golden freddy like how the stitch wraith was an animatronic with multiple spirits and now this book is making that correlation to golden freddy, of course the book can't be 1 for 1 with the game but we should keep in memory of the stuff that happens in this book to help explain future stuff.

It's me to me is either evidence of ShatterVictim as it's said by all the characters pretty much, that is if it's me is correlated to CC alone. However, another interpretation is that it's me is a form of declaration of being oneself. This interpretation suggests that the spirits retain memories of who they once were, their personalities. I think this is a fun interpretation.
Also, here's my two cents on the books canonicity. If the book is advertised as the prequel to the first game with Ralph's death we hear from the game being accurate then I think it's safe to say its game canon. Plus the phone calls were recorded so like it would've and could've just played for night 4 ig.

I have my own theory about when this book is trying to tell us FNAF 1 takes place.
EVERYTHING in the book keeps telling us that the FNAF 1 location has only been open for a short time since the recent "staff vacancy" and "temporary closure". I believe this game takes place in 1988, for a handful of reasons I won't go into here.
One thing I will address though is the obvious counterpart of the recording you find on Night 2, which you even bring up in the video. In this route, Ralph mentions he couldn't take a night shift at Freddy's because Coppelia had just been born.
This seems to debunk the 88 theory as if Coppelia is turning 12 in the book, she'd have been born in 76, and thus be too old to be the reason for Ralph not to take the night shift at Freddy's (which opened in 1983).
However, something I have yet to see brought up is the fact that this is one of only two endings in the book which is completely impossible to achieve while following the rules.
This ending occurs on Night 2 when we're prompted for a security code for the phone, which we can't even get until Night 4. And it's not a bonus item moment where we gain it on replay - no matter what, the only chance we have to use the "ticket" item which has the code on it is in Night 5.
I genuinely think this tiny segment's inclusion is a mistake, and is possibly a remnant of an earlier draft, where Coppelia was younger. Nowhere in this section does Ralph mention her age - in fact the book doesn't even refer to her by name (just as "your daughter).
Before anyone calls this copium, note that there are several other "glitches" in the book, such as an infinite loop of going into the backroom and acquiring a flashlight to fend off Foxy, and - more significantly - no way of completing morning 2 without using an item there's no way to obtain until your replay of the book.
The only other part of the book which is accessible without a real possibility is the "master key" Party Room 2 ending - which is an intentional trap for cheaters. I find it very strange if one is supposed to be an Easter Egg to poke fun at the Player, when the other is just hiding the biggest hint at timeline placement in the entire book.
Unless I'm entirely incorrect about not being able to obtain the pass code pre Night 4, I'm going to move ahead assuming that the part about Ralph finding his old recording from when Coppelia was an infant is a mistake and not canon.

    • @Pumpkit200
      @Pumpkit200 9 днів тому

It does mention her age! page 2, "you have an eleven year old daughter named copellia" BUT the recording that he mentions is from fnaf 2 night one if i remember correctly, which we know takes place in 1987, which was just when copellia was born. So fnaf 1 could take place around 1998/1999

    • @Doddser
      @Doddser 9 днів тому +1

@@Pumpkit200 Sorry I meant that PARTICULAR page doesn't reference her age, so we can't confirm it was written with the intention to establish that long a timeframe.
As for the recording you're thinking of - that's the one on Night 5 when you can input 1-9-8-7 and hear an edited Night 5 Phone Call from FNAF 2. (I actually theorise that this exact page is a holdover proto-version of that scene from an earlier draft that they forgot to cut out of the book.)
The part where it says he couldn't take the night shift because Coppelia was just born is on a page that is inaccessible unless you cheat and follow a dud link. The recording on that page is unfamiliar to us. It has similar wording to FNAF 1's Night 1 introduction, but it's clear that this is just due to it being a written "introductory greeting", and the recording itself is from years earlier.
My point is just that if we find information on a page we can't access other than by breaking the rules of the book, we shouldn't consider that information canon because it seems to be an error.

In the topic related to the Golden Freddy, I am more interested in: "Where's Cassidy?" No, seriously, where is the fifth spirit? The first attack of the Golden Freddy, strongly implying from BV, is when you enter the 1-9-8-3 call. The second attack is debatable, but probably also BV with its aggressive "It's Me", and the female voice is Bronwen (or whatever this reporter's name is), the storyline of which we previously followed. Was Cassidy sitting in the back room all this time and playing checkers or did they really not care about a random security guard, lol

    • @zenvariety9383
      @zenvariety9383 9 днів тому +1

Or perhaps BV could be victim 5 if Dual Process Theory's theory is correct. Yet that could mean his name could be Dave Cassidy Afton or Cassidy David Afton.
I haven't played the games or read the books yet, but I'll do my own take on FNAF theories though.
Yet if CC is the only one present in Golden Freddy that means he probably recovered and lasted two more years. Either way Afton trying to put his son back together by spring locking him is messed up. Not to mention that Golden Freddy could be primarily possessed by agony hence his ability to mimic voices.

I disagree with the Crying Child being the happiest day kid due to one important factor that we know avout them after they died, And that the pure fact, They themself have stated they can't see (from the log book)
Also about Golden Freddy, another question is How is the Crying Child one of the spirit? As he shouldn't of been stuffed into any suit lore wise.
Also Phone Guy having the phone in new game plus, can make sense considering that it isn't the first time where something like that has had happened before, FNAF World & it's trophies, FNAF AR (If getting jumpscare = death, then yes I'd say that's another example)
Another thing, FNAF AR first teaser has "IT"S ME" (I do belive FNAF AR is ment to be FNAF 8 & Help Wanted is FNAF 7 since UCN was ment to be DLC/ADDON to Pizzeria Simulator just like how RUIN is for Security Breach)

Ehem. There's no Ralph nightguard in FNAF1. Even if it says The Week Before it doesn't look like it's literally what happened the week before FNAF1, it's all metaphor for what Michael Afton experienced by working as a nightguard in FNAF1 under name Mike Schmidt. If wasn't obvious for you already that Charlie feeling guilty over losing her littte brother Sammy by William Afton and going through each game-like locations together with Carlton Burke saving his dear friend Michael Brooks and his friends by putting their memories back together thanks to getting remnant from William Afton, him seeing post Springtrap William Afton burned down in the furnace of his making with the amalgamation of FNAF1 animatronics and Burke's disfunctional family are all reimagination of Michael Afton's family history and whole journey to his end, FNAF Movie further puts light on that by making FNAF1 nightguard Mike Schmidt feel guilty over losing his little brother Garrett who got kidnapped and killed by William Afton (Garrett is meant to be reimagination of Charlotte Emily and David Afton, Garrett rhymes with Charlotte just like earlier Burke rhymes with Brooks, both for very important reasons), and his little sister Abby (anagram of Baby, Circus Baby as Elizabeth Afton possessed it) who is almost killed by springlock Ella (Ella going back Charlie-bot so Circus Baby, Elizabeth, Ela is also shortcut of Elizabeth in Polish)
