I read that when she was told that Dr. King had been killed, she kept her composure & shortly thereafter she was driven to ID the body & was still very composed. She was rumored to be strong. She too, was chosen by God to fulfill a leadership role.

I was 10 years old in 1968 when Dr. King was assassinated and I remember over in another neighborhood big clouds of smoke from a building that had been set on fire after the news of Dr. King's death . I was scared to go out of my neighborhood because of all that was going on during those first few days . This is my first time seeing this and it did bring back those memories , my mom went to view Dr. Kings body , but she wouldn't let me and my brother's go because of the long lines that were there on into the night ( Just like the way it was when President Kennedy's body was in state in the Capital and those crowds ) and she didn't want us out late into the night . I did see Dr. King's funeral on tv ( which was on all of the networks ) and to see all those who came to Dr. King's funeral like Sammy Davis Jr. Bobby Kennedy , Jackie Kennedy , Ethel Kennedy ( Bobby's wife ) Eartha Kitt , Dianne Carroll , Nancy Wilson , Ozzie Davis , Ruby Dee , Harry Belafonte , Mahalia Jackson , Aretha Franklin , Berry Gordy , Stevie Wonder , Dianna Ross and others that attended his funeral , it was a like a who's who that came and that is one thing that I do remember and seeing this really brings me back to what was a such a sad day for all of us who were there to witness it in 1968 , one thing that I will never forget !

So what if they would have that on that’s their business as to what they want to have on and your comment has no merit because from what I have seen in todays society we as a people still respect those who are being funeralized in action, deed as well as attire I’m not sure what planet you are on but your dead wrong and it is an irresponsible comment to make

@@jalynsmith6230 Not really. Honestly I get the comment. They were fighting fir us to have respect, to be treated with dignity but today WE don't even respect ourselves, we don't even act, behave or dress dignified. It's as if it was all in vein, almost. It may not have been relevant to you, and I respect that, but here, it was relevant and proper to insert.

He was everything that was right in this world. He fought for change. He gave his own life to make sure others could one day have a good life. Mrs. King was one of the strongest people I’ve ever seen. As much as she hurt, as much as her entire world imploded in a split second, she still carried on and continued his fight. It’s such a shame that here we are 40+ yrs later and there are still those that fight against what he was trying to do. If you’ve never been to DC and seen his monument, I highly recommend going. It’s one of the most beautiful and humbling sights I’ve ever seen ❤
