LOVE this one. Amelia is so no nonsense; no mysteries, no big philosophy while teaching - just simple how to do this and the ability to show how it's done HERSELF step by step. this is the best way to learn this!!
This video was SOOO great. The amount of detailed information, the ways to make it easier to introduce to the horse, the different views to the camera... Beyond helpful!!!!
Hi Amelia thank you for demonstration of these two movements, I have struggled for some time as to how to put this together.
You have clarified the mystery for me as I'm not a dressage rider, just looking for becoming a better rider and
Better communication between my horse and myself! I have picked up lots from watching and listening to you explaining the progression and what to watch for, very helpful!!
Thank you so much for demystifying dressage. I've been riding for a long time and just always figured this was beyond me. You explaining things in such detail makes me want to try... 👍 I look forward to learning more.
These videos are seriously awesome. They help my hunter jumpers go around much nicer. Big help, just lovely. Thank you.
The explanation and démonstration excellent I love your teaching style
Thanks so much Nora!
Thanks Amelia, you are very generous, I watch you daily for motivation 👍x
You are very clear with explaining what to do, how to do, and your examples of right and wrong helped me grasp things better. Thank you
I love this video. My trainer wants me to start doing haunches in to loosen up my horses back. This will really help me in my next lesson, when we plan to start. I am excited to get started on my own. I watched several videos and this one is by far the most helpful. Thank you Amelia!
Excellent demo! I am so impressed with all of the videos I have viewed so far. . .so clearly explained and ridden!! I have never been able to get such concise details explained and shown!! You are awesome!!
Super! Thanks for the feedback!
@@AmeliaNewcombDressage hi I would like to sign up for the mails but can’t see the link?
This video gives so much amazing information with tons of tips and tricks I am looking forward to bringing into my next ride! This really helped me grasp the cosept and how these drills you showed us work.
This was a great instructive video. I've been struggling to find info on practical ways to teach a horse haunches in and I think the technique you showed will work for a lot of horses.
the dog is so mood
Really helpful! Thank you for creating this.
You're so welcome!
Going to go try this.
I have to save this one and watch it again. Complicated but I'm excited to try it when I get there.
Yes I LOVE your videos. When you say put the inside leg on when you start the shoulder in. What are the correct aids for a 10m circle? Isn't your inside leg on for the circle?
Yes. It is on for the circle. You may need more inside leg to initiate the shoulder in down the rail.
This is soooooo helpful. Thanks 😊
Welcome!
Really helpful thanks Amelia x
So glad!
Amelia this is amazing, im so glad i discoverd this channel !
Love LEVI supervising in a total snooze-fest lol. So helpful Amelia, this is such a critical maneuver/aid to help so many OTHER things! ...La Vonne
Thank You, Amelia! Very helpful
Can you describe what you are doing with your hands? Thanks! Love your videos btw.
Super explanation, and really helpful videos, thank you
This was very helpful but am I seeing a slight uneveness at times and is that ok as they try to find their balance? Or should you get out of it and start it over.
Beautiful horse and useful video
This video is an excellent compliment to my lessons. Thank you so much for producing these great videos! I only wish I would have stumbled on this earlier so I could have been in the contest to win a shirt with your name on it :)
This is exactly what I need to work on. For an older horse, would introducing these exercises be easier at walk? Thanks for sharing.
Hi Judy! Yes, it is often easier to start theses exercises at the walk. Just make sure if your horse starts to get to slow or stopping to mix in some trot or canter in between to refresh them 😁👍
@@AmeliaNewcombDressage thank you so much!!
Very good explanation

For shoulder fore do you also put your outside leg behind the girth? and the only different between shoulder fore and shoulder in is more pressure on the outside rein? anything else as far as the difference between the two?
Very helpfull, thanks
I like it
good angle good position of arms
even I prefer a neck a little higher at last
she's great Rider !!1
Thanks for the kind words
My pony that im working with is 13.1 I doubt a person is a good unit of measurement. But good review since its been 10 years since Ive taught them

Awesome and very helpful video. Thank you! 😊. I have the same helmet as you. Amazing helmets! So comfy!
Very good review for an old rider. : )
Is your inside leg behind the girth for shoulder in? and outside for haunches in?
good question! No. The inside leg should be at the girth for both shoulder-in and haunches-in.
Hi! my horse understands shoulder in and leg yeild on the rail with haunches in, but more than half the time when i try gently changing the bend, he moves his haunches *into* my outside leg. Or we get baby steps and I reward him like he just won the olympics. But do you have any more suggestions to help this go smoother?
I have this blog post on shoulder in amelianewcombdressage.com/dressage-training/shoulder-in-vs-shoulder-fore/?UA-cam&General
How do shoulder in with your horse
Where is the link? I want to get on your email list
what about the reins?
What is she doing with her hands or is it all leg and seat.
Lol we can go to the right and not at all to the left with haunches in. Slowly getting there though :)
Great video and looking forward to your emails
