What V said was he was there the whole time while they were trainees, but he wasn't shown in the videos, so all the fans thought BTS were a six member group, but they weren't, because V was always there, so they are a seven member group. V was debuted when they debuted. So that is when the fans got to know him. He was a surprise member.

I think you kind of misunderstood the beginning part and that is BTS we’re exceptions to the rule in reference to writing their songs and producing. Bang PD (their director and the owner of their company) was a visionary who encouraged them to write music about themselves and their experiences. This did not happen with other music companies and their K-pop idols were given songs and a planned strategy was given to them. K-pop idols generated a huge fan base of young girls however the general public did not respect idols and did not consider them as a music artist because the songs were frivolous and meaningless. Other than looking good and great performances they had nothing else to offer. No depth. BTS were different. There are more K-pop idols who are involved in writing and producing within the last few years but again they are also exception to the rule still.
His problem is he is not listening he just talking about stuff that doesn’t make any sense or pertain to BTS .

I really feel like if you want to succeed, you gotta find your drive and keep that drive through all the ups and downs. Because there will definitely be ups and downs so you better love what you're doing and have the passion and drive that will keep you going. The moment you stop, the moment that drive goes away, that's usually when I see people give up on their success. It'll be hard, but it was never supposed to be easy.

Just a reminder, BTS stands for BangTan Sonyeondan. In English, 'Bulletproof Boyscouts'.
And although this is improving over the last few years, the majority of groups still do not write their own music and are not involved creatively. BTS were, and still are unique.💜
