i’m so tired of reading “who’s the next bts “ tbh like i’m not even an army but there is and will never be “the next bts” let groups be their groups’ name why do ppl want “the next bts “ to exist so bad i don’t get it
Literally!! I talked about the problem with this idea as well as gave advice to groups who want to be successful that I think are important. I also think companies use this statement to create buzz but it’s honestly not good press!

Saying they are the next BTS is the same as saying they are the next Michael Jackson. It is extremely unlikely to happen. MJ was unique. BTS is unique.

The next bts is bts. Ppl like saying "stray kids is the next bts" which is not true. I personally think ppl labelling a kpop group like skz "the next bts" is kinda like an insult to all the hard work skz (or any other groups) did on order to gain the success or fame. In conclusion i don't think kpop groups like being called the next bts and bts themselves said there is no bts. Bts worked hard to get to where they are and i feel like kpop stans feeling the need to say that there is a next bts is also disrespecting the hard work they did.

that is pretty hilarious, stray kids next bts.. it did made me laugh out loud, im sorry but ive seen so many kpop groups, until now ,2023 and no group just dont HIT IT , theyre just NOT IT .. like BTS is IT! im sorry!! ive tried, ive really tried to get into other groups but NO no nOooo i just dont feel anything, the music is the same in every song, the concept is the same or forced... the whole thing just isnt it D: and thats OKAY!! bts is BTS! theyre legends, inspiration! leave it at that.

The reason I believe there won't be a "next BTS" anyway is one core factor that differentiates a lot of BTS fans from K-Pop fans - many BTS fans, ARMYs, are not K-Pop fans. And, many ARMYs who *are* K-Pop fans may like a lot of K-Pop songs, but they won't call themselves part of another group's fandom. Meanwhile, in the K-Pop sphere, people who call themselves fans of K-Pop tend to like multiple groups and call themselves fans of those multiple groups.
With BTS, however, many ARMYs are only ARMYs. ARMY is a gigantic fandom with millions of people, so of course there are ARMYs who are fans of other K-Pop artists, but as someone like myself who has been an ARMY for 7 years, BTS by far has the strongest loyalty, the biggest fandom power, and the most amount of fans who are ONLY fans of BTS, not others.
I, myself, am only an ARMY. I listen to a lot of K-Pop, but I am only an ARMY. With that said, I believe this is one main reason why there can't be a "next BTS", because other K-Pop groups do not have that same singular loyalty, because their fans are also fans of others. When trying to break into the West, that weak fandom power isn't going to sustain you. It's why a K-Pop group can have a #1 album for one week but no one actually streaming their music. Meanwhile, a BTS album will stay on the Billboard 200 for over a year and the album will rack up billions of streams. It's because BTS has a strong fandom who actually listens to their music and prioritizes supporting them.
So, why are so many ARMYs *only* ARMYS? There are many reasons, but what I believe to be the main factor is the music. It's as simple as that. Lyrics and production. The storytelling. The authenticity behind the art. The history because the art. The music. BTS is the only artist, K-Pop or Western, who's entire discography I enjoy. With other K-Pop acts, I don't care for other groups. If I like a song, I like a song, but I'm not following other artists. I personally don't like a lot of "loud" K-Pop songs that are prolific in the industry (such as Stray Kids, NCT, BlackPink, Aespa, etc.)
TXT, TWICE & NewJeans the only the only other K-Pop group whose majority of music I enjoy - as in, I enjoy most of their discographies, but that's not surprising at all, because their music is less "construction noise" sounding and more melodic, pop, and fresh. With TXT in particular, their main producer Slow Rabbit is one of BTS' longtime producers, and TXT's entire in-house team also has worked with BTS (of course, TXT has their own sound).
No hate whatsoever but if you aren't in another fandom you can't know if they are loyal or just a small fandom or not even hardworking. And bcz of that it's kinda disrespectful towards other fandoms and groups
But yes there will probably never be a next BTS, but not got that reason, the reason why is bcz they are iconic and you can't change a icon

You really just wrote an entire essay so that you could slip in that Stray Kids is loud and makes "construction noise" music and thought noone wouldn't catch it.
BTS was never privileged enough to take short cuts, rely on their BIG companies money. They literally worked from the ground up, every award they've received was never bought, covers of magazines, never bought, they earned their way. There are K Pop groups in the Big 3 that purchased magazine covers, teamed up with Western labels to become BIGGER than BTS, but even with all the media play, they are still not near BTS' level. They are only harming themselves because some of these groups are actually talented, but always trying to appear bigger than they are, taking shortcuts, attaching themselves to BTS through various media platforms, playlists on streaming platforms, pictures, yet proclaiming they paved the way when everything achieved AFTER BTS is because of the opportunity provided by BTS paving the way. It's a huge turn off to these groups trying to act like they're bigger than BTS, always saying they paved the way when BTS opened the door for all of K Pop, just do the work without trying to take shortcuts, relying on media play, let your authentic selves show the creativity, talent. Right now, it's literally BTS vs BTS, even with their streams and views being deleted, BTS is still number one because of ARMY. As a group and solo, each and every one of them are extremely talented, hard working and humble.
YT Borahae city already did a video responding to this topic. Yes, another successful group is possible, but the magic that is BTS is not possible. Even the creator of the group Chairman of HYBE, Bang Si-Hyuk said he would never be able to create another BTS. He created a group who could be a source of strength for youth. Music for Healing was BigHit’s motto.
BTS is more than a group, a boy band, K-pop idols. It’s a family. Their strength was born out of struggle and hardships. Even when they bought separate homes, they still lived together for 10 years. They have spent more time together than they have with their families. Every attempt at sabotage, ridicule, is fuel for them. They soar amid adversity. Their music isn’t one genre. They have started as a hip group that became a K-pop group. Their songs are pop, R&B, Neo-Soul, Latin, Blues, Rock, EDM, Rap, Trap-their concepts connect into story lines that have a complete Arc. Their journey can not be recreated.
It’s better if the up and comers find their own style, learn from BTS how to maintain a group not succumb to the solo Stan’s and others who will be in their ears about how much better one member is over the other.
Learn how to be truly supportive of one another. Be humble. Be, voice and show appreciation to your fans. Be philanthropic and positive. Work hard.
Understand their individual behavior affects the group, so be mindful and responsible. Resolve conflicts quickly and do not hang on to them.
I just wish that other k pop groups won't try to be the next BTS just work hard and you will see what happens

it doesn't have to be working hard all the time, you also gotta work smart. Cause while BTS also "worked hard" from the very beginning they didn't became successful in just a short period of time. You still have to incorporate being smart and having a good strategy (which BTS did). It's great to be working hard too but all of that will end up for nothing if you don't have a good strategy.

I always say never strive to be the next anything, be the first and only.
We should respect all groups and not compare them to the BTS, it takes away the other groups' unique identity. Give them recognition for their hard work and talents, they so deserve it since they've poured everything they have make it this far.

Like even now bts on break because of military their solo careers are the ones rulling the charts and introducing more people to kpop . Like you will find many comments like "i didn't know kpop can be this good " "this is kpop? " under bts solo music . Definitely other agencies are trying their hardest to ride on the BTS coattails, it's desperation basically. These agencies have spent billions over the last three decades to penetrate western markets but failed time and time again. Then here comes BTS from a small company breaking all barriers. Of course, they'll use the BTS name. These agencies mostly didn't respect BTS and their agency in the past and now that they're super popular and influential, these agencies won't hesitate to use their name. Lee Soo Man, ex-SM CEO, is one of these shameless individual. He even have the nerve to take credit for BTS, his media play gave the notion that he is the 'Father of K-pop', hence the existence of BTS is due to his efforts, so much BS!

Oh, boy. Well, the usual Kpop group sings about love. Over and Over. BTS didn't do that and that caught me. They sing about life experiences.
I also follow Stray Kids and TXT, both bands have different sounds, different songs you can't mistake them for each other. Also OnlyOneOf. And maybe ZeroBaseOne soon. I like their song In Bloom.
Other bands I like are TheRose, Seventeen, Ateez, Taemn, EXO, The Boyz, and BTOB, but I don't have time to fully Stan them yet.
but BTS did a lot of songs about love or being in love? ain't nothing wrong with that, whether it's about romantic love or platonic or love for oneself. BTS did all of that. love is also a life experience. And sure, most bts songs are not lovey-dovey, but let's not act like they also don't have super sweet or even cheesy love songs like: 'where you from', 'just one day', '24/7=heaven', 'look here'.
@@majag5117exactly , the difference is that BTS lyrics are relatable and good written , like how you come with “treat me like a coma , I will take you to another phrase” in a song that’s even a ft RMs pen is something , same with suga and jhope that make savage love meaningful ?! That’s the difference with other groups which gidle have the same issue too they can talk about meaningful even more creative stuff but if the lyrics are cringy that meaning goes away to the listener. Or compare to BtS their lyrics are too simple so they need good melodies and production to level up which is something that NJ have.

BTS are put in the pop duo category k pop category because that's where the music industry puts them. BTS sing many genres including rap hip hop and r & b but you'll never see them nominated for a grammy in those categories. how is bts a pop duo, they are not a duo they are a group lol. and k pop is an industry not a genre. a real music fan loves great music and then theatrics and looks.

Obviously not. THis is to tell that no other group , at least the artist themselves are not really trying to imitate BTS. everyone has their own story to tell. But somewhere there's logistics and management decisions that could hinder artist creative choices.
But NCT never backed down from experimenting. NCT is unapologetically wild and crazy.

The copying of BTS happens way too much to be "coincidence". The Big 3 companies in S. Korea have been trying for years to take BTS. Now BTS face the same problems in the Western Music Industry.

Most groups mentioned here aren't trying to be the next Bts. Bts is very famous and successful but they are not the definers of success. It's wrong to say that just because another group is gaining popularity and success, they are trying to be Bts. I feel like this video is made by one of *those* Armys if you know what I mean, and it makes me a little embarrassed as an Army.
but the thing is, it's the media outlets or companies media play that are trying to label those groups as the next bts, not that the groups said it themselves.

I'd find it incredibly disrespectful if someone tried to label me as "the next somebody". And I think it's hurtful, both to BTS and the groups media call the next BTS. It makes it sound like there's nothing unique about both parties involved. Like bts were created by the kpop industry and the industry is just trying to "produce" the same "product" over and over again. It would be so much better to title those articles "this group might be the next big thing" or just mention that they're rising in popularity and are doing good.

well actually, that's not true. there's quite a few groups that are self-produced (although most aren't). for example: seventeen, stray kids, g-idle, write their own music.

The main point is whether other groups did or not also write their own music, If it's not good then it doesn't matter, You can't tell me what those other groups' music wrote is comparable to what RM main producer and writer of the song Spring Day by BTS which won SOTY and has been charting on Melon (South Korea's leading music platform) for 6 years now, it's the longest charting song on Melon Top 100 and never left since its released, by any artist may it be by Korean or western, to chart and has the most liked or unique listeners ever, also most of BTS songs are professionally critically acclaimed by Korean or International music critics, latest examples are J-Hope and RM's recent solo albums, Rolling Stone ranked J-Hope's album as Top 9 out of 100 Albums of Artist last year, and J-Hope was the only Korean artist whether group or solo, it was ranked alongside the Top 10 out of the 100 list with Kendrick Lamar, BEYONCE, etc.
They all left syco music because Simon wasn't really that interested in them as a girl group. He wanted another 1 Direction and his boy goup losing push his nose out of joint. He's very much up himself. As we Brit's say. The second woman left the group to have a baby/start a family she's got fed up with warner bro label and music labels in general having had experience both with Syco music and Warner brothers. . I don't blame her as Warner Bro only wanted to promote american artsts/groups any way so signing them up was a way to hide them and stop their careers taking off.
SuperM aka The Avengers of K-Pop, I feel so sorry for the members. They are all from different groups who are already successful with their own fanbase. By taking them away to form this group caused a lot of stress for them, they had to split their time between their own groups and SuperM. I feel they're overworked. Many of them should spend this time creating their own songs and album, these guys had the ability, they are that talented, but SM Entertainment, their agency, don't give them enough support.
That's just the nature of the Kpop industry they follow trends, it's a lot of rinse and repeat yes there are odd songs and that are new and different but most of it is follow the band wagon follow the same formula especially with the Big 3 Kpop companies you can guess what's going to be the structure of a song for a group it's always the same. It quickly become's very very boring.

And yes bts has the biggest Fandom in the world but what does have to do with giving credit were it's due? And sm has been known to try weird experiences with group for no reason, I mean he literally did it with NCT 😂 so that doesn't always mean they are copying or trying to " be the next bts " it's a music industry every artist is trying to be something big and that doesn't mean there trying to be bts.
So first this creator puts up a Stray Kids article when she says "failed attempts". And that's not the only time she focuses on them specifically. Then she shows them when talking about looks vs talent. I'm sensing Army shade. Actually I don't need to sense it, it's obvious.
First, some random entertainment writers putting "the next BTS" doesn't mean that's what Skz were trying to do. That's just spin. Second, Skz have proven themselves in their own right, they don't need to be the next BTS.
lol yea i noticed too that many parts of the video were kinda shady to other groups. the video was clearly made by one of those "intense" armys; it was downgrading the success of kpop groups who have achieved a lot. and i agree, if a journalist decides to write an article about skz using titles related to BTS, it's not really their fault. they aren't "manipulating" anyone, it's not like JYP will just pay off small writers to do that.

I understand the premise of this video, I really do. BTS is very talented and their success likely can't be replicated. However, I can't help but notice that this video is extremely biased and DEFINITELY made by an intense Army (as you can see if you check their channel). The video threw shade at lots of groups using the words "fail" and downplaying the achievements of other groups by saying that they are all trying to "become" BTS. Just cause you want to support BTS, it doesn't mean you have to start hating on other group's music (as they did with superm), concepts (as they did with aespa), and calling them "just visuals" (blackpink, showing SKZ), shitting on their awards (blackpink), calling them mediocre and lazy (25:55), saying they are doing "media play" (skz, aespa, etc) when theses articles are just written by small journalists who use whatever titles and language they want, and so much more that i can't mention. Even comparing them to Micheal Jackson, The Beatles, and Queen like-
I sense that often some Armys go out of their way to put down other groups just to prove that BTS is something special. We know they are something special, it's obvious. What's the need to prove that there will be "no next BTS" by downplaying other successful groups and their talents?

Well, kpop stans and some media try to delusionally downplay BTS's impact and achievements almost every day even nowadays, when literally the groups y'all stan, charts and data say otherwise. How do you expect us to stay silent and let idiots disrespect them like that?

She's not disrespecting the artist's themselves it's about their companies marketing them as the next BTS when of course they are going to fail at being the Next BTS. However they could if given proper support and time became themselves but as the next BTS of course they failed. That's just facts and facts do not mean feelings or be about respect or disrespect fact are simply that facts.

How is Blackpink trying to be BTS? How is Stray Kids trying to be BTS? How is Aespa trying to be BTS? Whenever another group gets an achievement, Armys brings BTS into it with comparisons. BTS is successful and amazing, but just because another group is becoming successful and achieving it doesn't mean they are "trying to be BTS".
I’m not a k pop fan. Sincerely k pop to me is mediocre. I’m a music fan which is why I like BTS.i gave k pop a chance after BTS and realized no one falls in with BTS at all. And most not all but most have every aspect of their music, looks, and even personality are distributed by their music label. BTS always had musical freedom, choices and what you see is what you get when it comes to them.

I don't watch the video, but for me SKZ are very similar to them. Fierce rappers - checked, good vocals - checked, a big range of voices - checked (i mean, i can't differ voices of a lot groups, but BTS and SKZ i learned to differ like after 3 songs). Stage presence, dance, humor - everything is ok.
My ultimate group is BTS, but I love SKZ and Ateez. I think all 3 are unique and extremely talented. They will go far and I'm here for it😊

Nah , BTS pen is in another level. Same with the cadence , rhyme scheme, creativity , etc is like comparing a high school kid with a pro. Ateez has a nice producer and a good main vocalist tho.

@@mev9752 Give them time. Bangtan rappers started early, RM started as a poet. They all have different life experiences so there's that. I don't know much about Skz except some of their music but I've noticed that they have good lyrics. And they getting better in every release.
i dont think bts is out of league, I think BTS had perfect timing, great effort in writing profound lyrics, passion and a loyal fandom, which made them global sensation. Its a one of kind phenomena. its not likely to happen anytime soon. But that doesn't mean that other groups are subpar. I know plenty of groups who are equally talented or even surpass BTS in someways . There's NCT, EXO, Stray Kids, Seventeen etc. DOnt undermine SUperm , despite quite the backlash , the concept is cool and the idols put extremely great effort in putting out 2 no skip awesome albums. Why should kpop be popular in Global sensation ? ?
i think SUperm was a move from the CEO to mimic BTS effect. But the idols never try to imitate BTS styles. what SuperM did , no other group can do that style . . I think they got a lot of western style music far better than , the terrible permission to dance

no there is definitely a BTS influence in all of those groups. it may not be in their music, but the way theyre promoted does. seventeen's hoshi already confessed that they indeed took inspo in a lot of bts' work. from doing their own variety show, and having many backup dancers on stage.
Yet none of these you mentioned are making any noise in charts or being talked about in the western media. Be fr. And not too much on queen PTD. It was to uplift people during the pandemic but y’all wanna be miserable. Hate all you want but even your favs listened to it 🤭
