I found this really helpful for what I have been struggling with the last few days I particular (but also for my whole life). Morbid introspection is the worst kind of malady. I am thanking the Lord for bringing this across my path after I asked him for help!
A few of Edwards’s quotes sounded like he was a 21 years old rather than a season elder of the faith and in life. Wait... he was 21.

We might need to consider the possibility that the Puritans may not have addressed certain things as clearly as we would like due to differing conditions in their time. Some of what is front and center in our current culture may have been quite secondary in their time and vice versa.
This is very good! Praise God. The morbid introspection is alive and well in many churches such as gracepoint fellwoship church. They are borhters and sisters, very godly, but there is a huge foccus on sin there, that really hurts and binds people into looking at themselves. I have been in this cycle for years, but finally coming through

several thousand man-made gods to choose from, i think it is prudent to go with reality, science, creativity, love and hope.
As we only have a short period of time as individuals, it would be foolish to waste time on unsubstantiated fairytales, and Live in the present.
