This is such a confirmation. Gods been unlocking the scripture for me like this the last 2 years.... I’ve never heard of this before. Great discussion! 👌🏽
8:03 is the chief argument that can cause some worry. Making Joseph the Patriarch a type of Jesus has strong backing. God didn't allow the tower in Siloam to crash down for the purpose of giving us a symbol of death and damnation. It was an event that Christ used as an illustration.

Joe had good questions which reminded me of the fad some good brothers of mine got into seeing The Matrix stories as a type of Christ. note the Wachowski twins now think they are women.
It's true, the Wachowskis are in a grave state as fallen men, and it would also be naive and wrong to take it as a 1:1 Biblical comparison. But, I still think, even if it wasn't the directors' intent, any time someone feels compelled to write or enjoy a resurrected hero motif, it is some semblance of Christ's Lordship of the universe appealing to the human heart (Eccl 3:11). Granted, I also think Satan wraps that motif in a bunch of other nonsense when media is created / enjoyed, and I'm not recommending the Matrix or Hollywood in general, but I still think the kernel in the center of it is a type of Christ.

Thanks, Julie! For more like this be sure to visit canonpress.com and enjoy searching around for other videos on our page!
Another thought provoking presentation. My concern is when we begin allegorizing and draw fanciful conclusions that are entirely out of context
This is why "i believe" a dispensational hermeneutic is incorrect.
Great stuff here!!! It’s so odd to me that so many Reformed ministers speak out against allegory and typology when the NT uses it almost constantly!
there's a difference between divinely inspired allegory with biblical interpretation and novelty allegorization.
@@philipmurray9796 Amen!
Where can one find the book by Edwards? At a reasonable price of-course.

Hi Doug, I’ve a good friend in Ireland who’s a Free presbyterian
What do you know of this and have you heard of Dr Ian Paisley? Thanks, Jim Lacy
Anyone know which book of Edwards on Typology Wilson is speaking of here? (3:58)
Well you asked ten years ago, but the answer is “Typological Writings” , Yale University Press
@@ibperson7765 thanks
@@CultureDweeb The book is called "Typological Writings"
Isaiah 53 was removed from Saturday readings by many sects because of causing “controversy”. So, it’s not as hard as Jonah.
This was very helpful!
It's called Typological Readings. The only place I found it was through Yale University Press. It's a TOUGH book
Typological Writings.

I am struggling to get through Edwards "freedom of the will". it's a hard read for me.

Fairbairn is the best on biblical typology.
