i'm not sure why the video doesn't talk about an offset in case your animation needs to start after the first frame, but it's not hard to change. on the line "t = time - (inPoint + ret ard);" you can replace "inPoint" with a number. that number refers to seconds (so 3 means an offset 3 seconds regardless of your FPS). you can also choose to create your own variable and or create/connect your variable to a time slider.

To change the duration / speed of the animation, just change the number on the line: retard = textIndex*thisComp.frameDuration*2;

what if i want that scale animation but for the whole word, not for the letters
I'm trying to export this animation with Lottie but when i try to change the expressions to keyframes from keyframe assistant the animation is freezed on the first keyframe.
