Awesome man great work and thanks for the pattern When you do the water on the edges you only need to do a tiny bit think that’s where you may be going off Yes the beeswax by itself on the slicker will work but I just rub the wax on the edges of the leather then slick
Thank you, Daniel! Glad you enjoyed it 😀 I really appreciate the tips! I think you might be right! Thankfully I've learnt a lot since I made this video, the least of which is just to use Tokonole to make life easy for myself 😅
An amazing work of art, it looks amazing and fits into any pocket as i made it myself. At the 90 degree angles, you can punch a small hole each, if you have the tool, to prevent it from getting tiny rips, just as a suggestion 😉
Hey mate!! I just wanna THANK YOU ❤️❤️!! For such a detailed explanation and for the materials and designs, thanks alot , 💞💞💟lots of love from PAKISTAN🇵🇰
Hello James, first and foremost, thank you very much for sharing the template. How thick is the leather that you are using in this wallet. Thank you and Good Bless you 🙏
Hi Adéla! No worries, thanks for saying so and glad you enjoyed it! I was using a 0.8mm in this tutorial, but I actually switched to a higher quality 0.6mm since then which I like much better. I personally find that a finer size gives a cleaner finish on small items like this, but its up to personal preference! 😊 hope that helps!
Could you please make a vertical version of this for a video or at least a template? So as to give the ability of being able to hold cash. I would really like to make one myself 👍
Hi there, I will be setting up a website with all my patterns in the coming weeks, and I'll try to find some time to create a vertical version for you!
Hey Rehman, sorry if I'm too late. Yes, A4 will work (just double check the sizing with a ruler after printing to make sure it's been printed at 100% true-size) 😊
You can use the bee's wax directly on the edge of the leather and then use the slicker to burnish it. The wax is an approved technique, it's not very seen because wax takes more effort to burnish because it takes longer to heat up.
I typically carry 5 cards with ease, but it can definitely hold at least 6 comfortably if you don't use too thick a leather. 7 will fit but it's tough to get the cards out 😅 you could also try scaling up the template a little if you wanted a bit more clearance. Thanks so much for your support! 😊
James Graves You very welcome my Friend 💫 keep going !! ✨✨ If You have a moment pls stop by to my youtube channel let me know what do you think 💭 I would love to have your advice Thanks ! kader 🎥
I'm not too sure on the size of dollar bills, but folded pound notes can be slid in if necessary (though I use an external money clip that I made). The size is exactly that of a credit card, so anything up to that size will fit!
Thanks, Luca! Oh yes, sorry about that one, I've just updated the description! I've added the Amazon link to where I bought mine in UK; I imagine there are leather suppliers who will sell cheaper in larger quantities, but for the first few projects I found this stuff is excellent quality and ages really well 🙂
Hey man, thanks for the video. A quick question. I've made the wallet using 2mm thick stiff cow hide and it's too thick compared to yours. Did you use 1.2mm thick leather? Love the wallet by the way.
The Amazon link takes you straight to the 6x12 piece of leather... i ordered it and I just received the 6x12 leather... it looks too small.. am I supposed to order the 10x10 piece of leather instead for this wallet?
Hi there, you'll need a piece of leather at least 8x12 inches for this project. Apologies, I guess the link must have been changed and redirected you to a different size; it should be updated now to the correct listing. I hope you were still able to work through this project!
Good tip, particularly if you're using a supple leather 👍 personally I tend to use relatively stiff leather, so it's not necessary; been using mine for 9 months now and never had it come apart 😊
I tried to make it, but unfortunately I could`t fold it properly. Please leave a note somewhere to others that use a very thin leather otherwise they`ll waste some leather just like I did. I used 1.8-2 mm leather and the template isn`t big enough for this thickness.
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that. I've used leather in the past which is nearly 2mm thick and haven't had any issues, though in this case a soft leather makes life easier; the rear slit has been left out on the design to enable different thicknesses to be used (within reason). Have you measured the template to verify that it was printed to scale? I know that depending on how I print the PDF, the scale can come out a little off sometimes.
Who's going to try making one of these? 😏
Hey man how can we avail that??that's awesome man!
I've just done one! Man, it is great! Not only fonctional but also realy good looking! Thanks a lot for sharing this template !
I would if I knew how to download plan I'm new to computers and leather work
God bless you for your generosity and kindness!
Awesome Video James ! Thanks for the Pattern took me about 35 mini minutes to make !
Awesome! I've been looking for an entry level project in leather craft. I'll give this one a go for sure.

Think I will try this as my first leather project! Then will try stitching later ha

Hi! Thanks for this awesome tutorial. Can you please tell me which size of edge beveler do you use? Thank you!

James this amazing! Very cool video. Will you be selling some for Christmas gifts? I would like to place an order
Thank you, buddy! I hadn't planned on it, but that's a great idea! I can get a few made up ready for December 👍
Should i print the template on a a4 size paper?
Hey Rehman, sorry if I'm too late. Yes, A4 will work (just double check the sizing with a ruler after printing to make sure it's been printed at 100% true-size) 😊

That's great to know, thanks buddy! I just knew it was working for me lol. Welcome to the channel!
Hello. Is this pdf pattern still available for free?
I would like to make one.
Sure is! There’s a link in the description to where you can download from my website 😊
Hi James, just found your video and tried to download the pattern. Is the link still good?
how many cards do you think this can safely hold? great video!

Can this fit dollar bills?

@@JamesKGraves oh ok thanks man!
Nice project! Which leather thickness do you use ? I think it's important to know, if i use the pattern.
Thank you!
Thank you! I use ~1.5-2mm thick crazy horse leather, there's a link in the description to the specific one I buy 😊
@@JamesKGraves Many thanks for the quick response 👍
No worries! Look forward to seeing how it turns out 😊
Always an awesome video mate! Where did you get your leather..?
Thanks, Luca! Oh yes, sorry about that one, I've just updated the description! Wow, looks great. You should make an etsy account 😄

You can stitch both sides that it will not fall apart
Good tip, particularly if you're using a supple leather 👍 personally I tend to use relatively stiff leather, so it's not necessary; been using mine for 9 months now and never had it come apart 😊
