Great job on the shop! Really enjoy your videos. Thanks for telling us where you get your blanks that was a great tip going to our some sugartit today. Thank you!
Thank so much. Glad you liked the set up and are digging the videos! I absolutely love getting my blanks from sugartitcustomlures.com Shane is awesome to deal with and has great customer service. And that's coming from me a Mgr is a customer service field so I have some high standards. Every once in a while they'll include a free blank lure as a gift too. I don't know of anyone else that does this.
Glad ya dig it bud. Your glides just need eyes, a clear coat and hooks. I have a guy at work (great human being) volunteer to build me a box so I can clear coat my baits in 10 min using uv light. Vs 3-5 days. Gonna be a game changer. Def gonna get some quality underwater footage this year of these baits.
100% agree with ya. The carving process takes a long time and I still don't know what I'm doing yet hahaha. I'll get there though. Glad ya liked the video.
Your bait making shop is cool to see, it’s pretty impressive that you can make those baits, I couldn’t be that committed, I just like catching the smallies, lol
@William Young I have this whole thing where I hate to snag and lose lures then keep spending money on lures that don't meet my expectations. That and a ton of down time in winter just made me want to make my own. Plus a rigs and glide baits are waaay over priced these days hahah.
Yeah definitely, last year I lost 2 jackhammers and man does that piss you off, what is cool is your painted baits will be unique, do you think you will get to the point where you want to sell baits?
@William Young ironically, losing jackhammer was one of the main reasons I started making my own. I lost 3 at dale hollow and tried the cheaper project z chatterbaits. Then I broke the bladed off 2 and found the Picasso bladed jigs were perfect but they're still 10 bucks haha. As for selling baits, I'm looking to get into doing that but they'll likely be more expensive than store bought stuff because I can't really mass produce them in a cost effective way. The labor time is pretty intense for some of the stuff I make so a lot of people can't justify buying them. However, there's still people out there that will but them and I'm trying to build a stock pile of various baits and am looking to periodically sell some. I just want to avoid doing customer specific custom baits because in the past I've made lures and had people bail and leave me with baits I probably won't use. I want to set up lure drops through either Facebook or Instagram so if you want to follow me there we might be able to get you some baits I make.
Awesome vid! Love the shop tour!!! G2G Lures right around the corner!!!
Thanks buddy. It's gonna be a process but I love me a good challenge
