I think Georgia is so awesome for having all these videos and having such a love of the natural world. I don't think any other state has done something like this series of videos. Bravo.
Was this documentary about the Sand Hills, or was it about the SE American kestrel? Seems it was about the kestrel. I wanted.more info about the (general) natural history of the Sand Hills area. The fact that this is where the piedmont meets the costal plain is fascinating. Is High Falls part of this transitional system? Looked like it to me, but, again, I will have to look it up because this vid gave no towns as references. Are Sand Hill cranes from this area? If so, I'll be learning that somewhere else too. Also, I am often disgusted by what scientists do to these animals. What nature needs to recover is to be left alone...not molested to an even further degree by so-called do-gooders (two hypenated phases right together...not bad). But I suppose simply leaving nature alone (and nature is far wiser than humans are) doesn't pay many bills or let people show off fancy degrees and research papers.
Okay I did my research. Sandhill crane: no, they range as far as Siberia. I looked that up before but forgot. I've only seen them in Florida, so I associate them with the SE coastal plain. High Falls: yes. I found a citation from the Atlanta Constitution that High Falls is an excellent example of a fall on the fall line. I recognized the geography of the area even from childhood. I used to go to a catfish restaurant in High Falls (the town, I think) as a child. Is that place still there? Would have made some hella interesting B-roll for this vid.
So cute how these people are so sure of what happened "millions and millions" of years ago. They speak of their theories as if they are etched in stone.... If you believe them, I got some property to sell you.

This show would be awesome with a different host.
I tend to agree.
Too dramatic and touchy-feely.
Your comment would be awesome if it didn't' exist.
