i've been on a personal health journey, grappling with weight issues. Dr. McDougall's insights really hit home. Margie Burton's incredible transformation serves as a powerful testament to the effectiveness of a starch-based diet. The idea of prioritizing whole, plant-based foods simplifies the approach to health. The emphasis on lifestyle changes for overall well-being is genuinely impactful. Feeling grateful for this valuable wisdom! 🌿💪

DR McDougall changed my life in 2013. I was on the paleo diet and McDougall had paleo in the headline. I was mad at first but I kept on listing and I started the McDougall Diet. I also bought all of his books. Thank you for saving my health!!!

Great knowledge Dr. McDougall shares with us! How many lives he has saved!
Don't we all want our loving family to live long and healthy lives?
Don't we want to maintain our own health for many, many years to come?
The repercussions of the wrong foods are terrible.
Luckily I heard Dr. McDougall's diet advice in 2021 on Chef AJ's show and changed from ricebased vegetarian to ricebased vegan with less oil.
How good I feel at 67. Only B12 do I take as supplement. I am a South Indian lady living in India.
I run 5 days a week and teach piano and tennis on weekends.
I do the10 K in an hour and 5 minutes and the 100 meters in 18 seconds.
My 5 young grandkids are pretty impressed.

Love this show, but GeeWhiz!! Dr. Gundry’s commercial come on blasting oatmeal! That man needs to get a life! We are Mc Dougallers in this house. Our lives are changed all for the better because of Dr. McDougall and Chef AJ. I’ll be 71 next month, at my goal weight, wearing size 4 pants, with no weight coming back on. Yes, exercise is part of our lives.
I look at my high school friends who are obese, with knee replacements and eating themselves into an early grave. I am floored that they do not want what’s helped us!

Being an example of health already goes a great length, even if they don’t outwardly acknowledge it, they register it, they consider it. It’s seeds you plant, they may not ever grow or they may grow later, but you’ve already planted them. That’s all you can do. Being too preachy about it might make it worse, people don’t like to be told what to do. They rather come up with the solution themselves, but they come up with it through examples they see.

There is a UA-cam couple that started carnivore because the husband has an autoimmune disorder. He feels better but he and his wife’s cholesterol levels are through the roof. They went to a heart doctor and he told the husband that he wouldn’t be around very long to enjoy feeling better from the autoimmune disorder eating carnivore. Just fyi. Happy new year Chef AJ and Dr McDougall 🎊💜🎉

Dr. McDougall with all due respect the fact that you tell the truth is why you have not gone viral: Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” Matthew 7:13-14. I’ll take the path less traveled.

Margie is very well spoken and has a nice voice. I enjoyed how she lavished Dr. Mcdougall with praise as I would do if I met him, of course. Respectfully, I think AJ has mischaracterized a controversy: it’s not starch vs fat! The question is whether or not it is optimal for all or some people to include one or two ounces of nuts and whether or not is is optimal to exclude all natural plant foods that are mostly fat such as nuts, seeds and avocados. I believe all plant docs agree on excluding plant foods that are high in saturated fats. The question is also whether eating a diet that is extremely low in fats is good for the brain. Using Dr. McDougall’s own reasoning we could say that just like we want salt and sugar we want fat. The research showing better mortality for those who eat nuts and seeds is not addressed. Similarly, some plant based experts have shown research showing older people could use a bit more plant protein. (Brenda Davis, RD has a new research based book.) I would like to see the actual research addressed without ridiculing or scoffing at those of us who are sincerely trying to figure this out. My dad and my grandmother (his mom) died of Alzheimer’s. They had the gene. Believe me, that makes you look at the research differently. This isn’t about being super super thin. It’s about health for some of us.

There are good sauces, marinades etc. for all your vegetables - don't give up, and there's lots of recipes for those out there in WFPB sites. It's just habit and familiarity your taste for oil - you'll kick it.
After a while, you may even find that oil is not something you crave, in any way shape or form.
May hopefully help as well to some degree with circulation and then the pain issues you've had.
      Keep in there 👌🤞

Many Vegan Drs are changing their stance on Omega 3's. I'm keeping Omega 3s in my diet since most of the latest research shows it helps protect the brain.
Off topic - RE: IRON, my ferritin was 10, I'm still low but getting better, I workout daily and my Dr says being vegan and working out can cause lower iron levels, now I'm scared to keep supplementing due to heart issues? My Dr wanted me to at least get to 60 Ferritin.

Bear in mind, Dr M does not classify himself as a vegan doctor: and in a way, never has.
Omega 3s act as blood thinners and anti-inflammatories, but high levels of them shouldnt be needed - UNLESS people are living an inflammatory lifestyle, where that benefits. This is where much of the data and research comes from some vegan doctors are referring to - which they do not always understand, and is confusing the issue for them.
But that shouldn't be the case, if you don't have inflammatory/auto-immune conditions, and are living the Starch Solution long term.
Iron is trickier - that's not to do with being vegan, per se. But if you have heart issues, might want to consult the McDougall team or similar (i.e. Ornish, Barnard programs etc) directly on that one for medical guidance is probably safest.

Read the Starch Solution, as the first of those 60,000. It will become clear.
