ARA Factory Class Match Competition Setup , Ruger 18" USA Target - Discovery HT 6-24 Lapua Long Range (unsorted) Cold bore 1st shot @1:39 and last shot @5:40 (4min 1sec)
Pretty good run, man. 👍 Does this competition Ruger have the BX trigger? Mine was the normal one, of course, with about a 480lb pull 😂😅 I found a new BX on eBay super cheap, and it helped a ton!
Thanks! When you order the gun it comes with the red trigger BX, but I prefer to use the old factory trigger pre MIM hammer with bushings, even though it's all oem parts, I swapped some parts around and alittle polishing on sear and hammer , breaks like glass everytime around 1lb
👍 I typically use the BXs for the hunting or plinking rifles and play around when i get a chance, but I'm staying busy....work, family, competition, hunting haha and these shooting vids, 2 UA-cam channels
@STKO2011 yeah, I tried to give through the stock trigger, I got it down to about 3lbs from 9lbs, but it didn't break crisp and clean. Was inconsistent and I would pull on a lot of rounds. Was driving me nuts. So I got the BX and went through it. It is 3 times better for me now. Life takes its time for everything for sure.
That's for sure ....life and time....I'd drop hammer kit in with the bushings, the BX hammer really grinds hard on the pin and rides the inside walls of the trigger housing...it's a night and day difference , EA Brown, power custom , volquartsen all have the hammer kit (bushings) which help since the hammerspring strut puts force directly on the hammer and pin but the pin doesn't touch the hammer with the bushings inserted
For this competition, are you allowed aftermarket mags such as the Ruger BX-25 mags? If so, your shots would be more consistent as you would not have to reload.
Yea, during an actual ARA Factory class match I don't mind to load one mag at a time, plus it keeps barrel from getting too hot especially in summer matches
