Such a shame that the streets were so unaccessible! I went to Madeira two years ago (with ME/CFS but still undiagnosed, so that was maybe not the best idea because I was in pain and fatigued every day) but it was so beautiful

Me and my partner went on Britannia. He has a severe nut allergy. We informed before hand and like you pre ordered. However we found doing this the food was awful. With at time us having to leave the meal as it’s not edible. We ended up not mentioning the allergy and triple checked ourselves.

I'm so sorry - that's really tough. Online friendships are so valuable when you're going through long-term illness but FWIW, I really hope your loved ones can adapt and that there are plenty of lovely, accessible adventures ahead of you!

Great video! I’ve never been on a cruise ship, so it was interesting to see what they look like on the inside. Last year I traveled to Aruba with my family. We booked an air bnb, and rented a car. I highly recommend going there for vacation. The beaches are amazing and people are super friendly. I really enjoyed swimming/snorkeling there because even though I’m a frequent swimmer, my CFS has made it so I can hardly swim at all. However the water in Aruba is so shallow, it’s a great place to swim, or even stand in the water if you have a chronic illness. Next time I go on vacation I will probably use a wheelchair to make things easier, so this video is helpful.
Have you tried getting a battery operated nausea bracelet? I have awful nausea and wear a nausea bracelet 24/7. I highly recommend for nausea or motion sickness. I’ve had the Emeterm bracelet, and now have the Relief band. They are definitely worth a look into especially for traveling.❤️

Great video Pippa! We were on Azura a couple of weeks ago doing the same route round the Canaries / Madeira and this really brought back fond memories. We've uploaded a few videos to our channel with more to come, albeit we're only just starting out so not as professional as you, so w've just Subscribed - looking forward to your future videos ☺

    Thanks for this...
I sailed on a Tall Ship, with the Jubilee Sailing Trust round the Canaries one January.
Pre-ME but they are fully wheelchair accessible ships, downside you are expected to help in all aspects of sailing life. I don't think it would work with ME unless you could do at least a few activities/work night shift etc.
I was extremely seasick for 36hrs when ship under motor but absolutely fine under sail and better above deck when motoring.
I am thinking of using an accessible holiday travel agency or at least hotel for my first trip abroad. I want to reduce risks as much as possible and feel "safe"
    Sorry for long post x

Thank you for watching! That must have been a really cool experience, can imagine it being so tough though. I've been considering using an accessible travel agency next time too, fingers crossed you find something great that works for you! X

Hi Pippa love your Vlog the ship looks so beautiful, I’m just wondering do you suffer with travel or motion sickness? I would love to try a cruise one time but I do get bad motion sickness so I’m a bit scared to try it!
