- A video showcasing some cut and changed cutscenes in God of War 3, from unused voice lines found in the game's files.
These are not all unused voice lines, just a few lines from cutscenes that were significantly changed during development. And this video also doesn't show all the known cut content. Cut content not shown here include the Ixion sequence (a level that was removed in Tartarus), and the three way fight between Kratos, Gaia and Zeus.

Zeus' line and Pandora's box now explain everything to me...
I don't get the Pandora's Box part. I didn't hear anything especially revealing here about it
@@Clearairliker basically pandoras box released fear into zeus. And it was his fear that made him do most of these things as well as why kratos beat him. Kratos has hope in him. And hope also comes from pandoras box. But was obsorbed into kratos
So "release me" could also symbolize the fear that controlled him for so long. He wasnt himself.

That was a quote from Nikos Kazatzakis, a famous Greek writer.
They should've kept it in but it's better to have a confirmation of his existence in god of war I think he was one of the survivor's after the events of god of war 3 and he wrote all the events

@@strongman5243 I'd say that would be wildly anachronistic, seeing as Nikos lived in the late 1800s to mid 1900s CE, until I realized that God of War's Greek trilogy is full of anachronisms, seeing as Kratos has:
---Sunk Atlantis (Supposedly occurred in 9600 BCE), and somehow found Archimedes' Screws there (who was born in 287 BCE). Ascension confirms that he indeed met Archimedes, so this wasn't a one-off thing.
---Destroyed the Colossus of Rhodes (226 BCE)
---Is both of veteran of the Trojan War (1184-1183 BCE) _and_ the Battle of Marathon (490 BCE). Furthermore, he killed who is likely meant to be Xerxes I, who would have fought the Spartans at Thermopylae (In 480 BCE), even though Kratos wishes he could have died at Thermopylae, but no longer.
---His King in Ascension looks suspiciously like Leonidas (530-480 BCE), which is definitely wacky, but is consistent with what we see in God of War's chronology.
---Mentions several of Aesop's fables, and claims he met him (Aesop was born around the sixth century BCE)
---Perseus is treated as contemporary with Herakles and Theseus, even though Perseus is the ancestor of Herakles, who is contemporary with Theseus.
---Kratos killed the Dark Rider (Who _might_ be Bellerophontes, who would be contemporary with Perseus), and gained the Spear of Destiny. It contains the power of an unknown god, and there are many allusions to Christianity in God of War II, so it likely is meant to be the spear of Saint Longinus (Whose legend connects him to Jesus, who died in 33 CE), even though Jesus would have not been born yet, considering that one of the original endings of GoW3 had Kratos as one of the Three Wise Men.
---The developers confirmed that Kratos' appearance in Shovel Knight is canon, which is significant as Shovel Knight is absolutely a uchronia, and one could even stretch it to take place in the early 16th century, as that is where full plate armor actually started appearing. _Ragnarok_ also confirms that Playstation All-Stars is also canon, so really, anything is fair game.
Rule of Cool is in play in God of War, so Nikos Kazantzakis being a survivor of Greece's destruction is something I am 100% down for.

The one that left me most curious is the second to last one about Zeus. Does it mean that, after all the evils and fear had left him, he felt remorse for all it had caused him to do?
"Release me", at first i thought he meant for Kratos to let him go, but after thinking about it for a bit, i feel Zeus meant for Kratos to release Zeus from the torment of what he himself caused while under the Fear's influence.

I’m a year late but no it doesn’t. It was already well known *why* zeus did what he did. All that scene would have done was cause us to have more pity for the old fart during his last breath
@@nagaskay7381 While it was well known, the implication would have been that there was something more to Zeus' decisions, which we find out comes from him being possessed by the evil of fear that came from Pandora's Box, which explained his erratic handling of Kratos and how it was inconsistent to everything we knew of Zeus prior to God of War 2.

Literally me too! And also the voice actor from 2 voiced Gaia in the introduction in 3 (the battle with Poseidon) and the rest was by the other voice actor.

Athena did warn kratos in GoW 2 that gaia can't be trusted, when she possessed her statue, speaking to kratos.
And I'm surprised that aphordite didnt try to fight kratos. Being the goddess of love, she couldn't. However, he did kill her husband.

Well firstly, she didn’t care about Hephaestus. Secondly, she liked Kratos so she wouldn’t really fight him.

@@dragonkamran but gods vengence one another. I remember Athena said to Kratos when he was brought to Olympus to be the new god of war in the first game that she and the other gods mourned Ares' death, despite he was a wicked abomation.
Originally she was going to try to kill him if you did the sex mini game a second time and failed any of the inputs.
This is how I would imagine Kratos dealing with Aphrodite: after she tries to kill him he would throw her through the Hyperion Gate and as he does he chains her with the Hooks of Hades. As she goes through the hooks drag away her soul as she lands on the other side of the gateway. Without a godly soul, Aphrodite will be trapped in the Underworld.
I love the unused Athena introduction. Much more fleshed out than the one in the final product, I feel like.
Awesome finds, it's interesting to see what could have been had there not been time constraints, but I'm glad they cut out some of the additional (unnecessary?) dialogue.
Me agrada la parte del encuentro entre Kratos y Atenea de 'El sufrimiento de la humanidad es igual con o sin guerra' algo que se ha reflejado en toda la saga y más en la escena inicial de God Of War III, una pena que lo cambiaran por un Kratos importandole poco la humanidad.
Asi como en esa escena dando a entender que Kratos es la única esperanza ya que añade un extra al.que Kratos no creia en eso de la esperanza.
El encuentro de Kratos y Pirito también es mejor añade más al personaje y se conecta con otros personajes como Persefone y Perseus, los cuales Kratos mato de ahí que él siga ahí, además de conectarse muchisimo más con la mitologia.
La escena de Zeus final la hubiesen dejado, o puesto después de la golpiza con O seria muy apropiada dado que en dicho momento se mira como de Zeus salen los males de la guerra, y se combinaria con las notas de Poseidon donde dice que Zeus hs cambiado demasiado.

Aphrodite and Venus are the Goddesses of pleasure, and they’re not the Goddesses of love because Cupid is the God of love, and I have no clue on what the Greek equivalent of Cupid is, but it’s certainly not Aphrodite.
@@RoronoaZoro-ur6hr I do agree she was not only love, however she is the whole pack in a few words, while cupid/eros, (because in ancient time eros was another entity but after time he was merged into one) was her son he was related to passionate love/lust while Aphrodite was more into emotional love that can be accompanied by such desire, but one doesn't always go with the other.

8:10 So then Gaia was the true guide of Kratos? I am confused. But also I remember that Gaia saved Kratos from the underworld in GoW 2 but on one condition: to serve the titans. From all the GoW games, I understood that Kratos' best friends were Orkos, that dead-living person who opened the way to Pandora's Temple to Kratos back in GoW 1, the last Spartan and Pegasus.

I'm a little bit curious about something,you see,some time ago i watched a video that modded a cutscene from Resident Evil 4,basicaly the cutscene was about Zeus & Kratos fighting,the user who made the video edited even the dialogues so actual lines of Kratos and Zeus hould play.
The point is,it calls my attention that i remember in that video some weird Zeus dialogues (it wasn't a fandub) i thought they should be unused lines from GoW3,so it's weird i haven't heard them on this video.

As I said in the description, this video is not all the unused voice lines, just a few from cutscenes. I just checked and there is a file called ZE_GP_078 in which Zeus says "I offer you a seat by my seat. We could rule together."

The zeus segment and the kratos finale would have been the most impactful i think, especially as the Fear power would have existed Zeus's body as the black smoke at that point.

The lines of him speaking to Athena should have really been added to the game, it kinda explored his time when he was made a god and explored Olympus.

So many good lines and scenes, that had so much potential to work better, than what we have in final version, but I guess they had their reasons to cut the out. Can’t forgive them for replacing Stheno (third Gorgon) with Skorpius tho

My guess is that her voice didn't fit Gaia as an antagonist.
My guess is she was getting too old so she couldn't quite pull off the shouting and screaming Gaia does in 3.

Zeus was not either good or bad, in the past send Ares and Athena to capture Deimos and put a curse in Kratos Mother, but in GOW 1 he helped Kratos and offer him to become God of War, maybe he just felt regret in the end and accepted his sins

Her husband is Hephateus, that would be after Kratos killed him.
Then how could she be with him when he was killed? If so, she'll be heartbroken and in grief and likely get revenge and fight and try to kill Kratos.
@@kevindavis296 because he was going to kill her to "reunite them". Also, aphrodite didn't even like hephaestus really, she had an affair with ares when they were married. Their marriage wasn't a mutual decision either, if I remember right, it was zues that paired them up as a reward for a deed of his so I don't think she'd be too broken up about his death.

She had constant affairs with various people, I don't even think she and hephaestus had kids but she did with practically everyone else. These dialogues are very more suiting to the game, however i think it foreshadowing how the game will end. That's why some dialogues in the released game are questionable.

Jolie, how did you do all of this? Is there a way to do this with God of War: Ascension? There are a few voice lines I really like from Ascension and it would be cool to have clean recordings of them.
I downloaded the entire God of War 3 files from some website, already extracted, then converted the audio files to a readable form with a program. I've tried to do this with God of War 1 and 2, but I haven't found the extracted files for download.
Damn dude, its hard to get solid recordings especially when there is a lot of residual background noises that ruin voice line recordings
Yes. In the absence of downloadable ready-to-use files, you'd have to extract the files yourself from the game's disc. I've tried to look into it but it seems complicated. Recording from the game is possible when there is a menu option to turn off all other audio (what I did to record many of the songs from the games), but I don't know if Ascension has this option for voice lines (I have never played it). For the other five main games of the series (GoW1-3 and PSP titles), only God of War 3 has an option to control the audio level of voices specifically.

Yes. I suspect this is partly the reason why the developers decided to cut these lines--they made Athena's true intention too obvious.
