Thanks. This tool saved my corrupted file, finally fixed AoW lion claw bug. For anyone with the same problem: 1° Step: Make a backup of your save and delete ER saves from default folder. 2° Reinstall the game. 3° Create a new character and overwrite the new char with the old, from the backup save file.

This is awesome. I have just one question. I have a really old build from a Seamless Coop save that I manually backed up, and I want to go back to it to see some things. With the save manager, I just need to update it to the new patch then load the old save right? If I want to revert BACK to the "current" save, can I do that (if I make a backup) or will going to an older save delete the current save?
Additionally, the new save contains the save file for Seamless Coop as well as vanilla elden ring. If I go back to the old save, it will revert to the old vanilla save and old seamless coop save, but I just want the old seamless coop save without it affecting the vanilla save. Is that possible?
I'm getting the error "can't get stats, go in-game and load into the character or try leveling up once." I load into the game, try, same error. I load into the game, level up, same error. Any suggestions?
What version of the game was the save file? Is this your personal save or did you download it?

Some saves created on old versions of the games or that are on the Nexus actually have incorrect character levels. Your level should be the sum of your stats minus 79

Hi, I'm very interested in the technical side of your save editor.
How did you approach creating it? Did you create many saves with small incremental changes and then looked at the differences? Did you use a debugger? Were you able to discover all of this just by looking at it in a hex editor? Did you create a data sheet with all the file format specifications (e.g. where exactly some values are stored)?
I'm super curious how you managed to decipher the save file format :)
Haha i am not that organized and methodical. I just figured it out along the way. I'm sure there are much better ways to do things then what i did. I did everything in python. I wrote many small scripts to analyze the data and yes i used many save files with different values to examine the changes. (which is hard because even if you load a save file and make no changes, it shuffles a lot of data around.
When i was looking for character stats, i narrowed it down to a single character slot block, modified a stat until i found the right value. The problem is that the stat indexes move around as well. After examining the data i found that stats are sequential and on the 48th byte ahead from the index of the first character stat, there is the character level. So to find character stats, it goes through a chunk of data for examplei know within 30k-50k it will apear. i iterate through that chunk summing values ahead of the index. When the sum of those values - 79 (your level is the sum of your stats - 79) equal the value +48 from the current index, then it's found the stats. Other things are more straightforward. Steam ID,s character blocks, checksum values are all static. Character names were very confusing, varying greatly in the location and frequency of a name. Some files might only have one of your character names in it, others could have like 12 of the same name. Because i couldn't figure it out, i had to scan through the entire save file and replace ALL occurences of it. That's why the app can't handle duplicate character names. All names are encoded UTF-16 and most integers are little endian. You can view a lot of static addresses used in the hexedit.py script.
@@arespy719 Big thanks for your reply! Damn, that really sounds like a huge effort and then you also needed to create all the GUI and standard application stuff. My own reverse engineering "efforts" ended when I diffed two saves where I only resaved, so to keep changes as minimal as possible, only to find out that huge amounts of data have shifted around like you mentioned. :D
i was gonna use this to change my stats in my seamless coop save but it whenever i do (imported the save and all that), my save doesnt show on the stat editor character select tab. am i missing something? i activated seamless coop mode already.
Hey first off thanks for this Tool. Im running into an issue when trying to duplicate my character. When i try to copy my main to slot 2 which is just named some random name it says "Cant handle writing to file with duplicate character names". I tried changing the names of my characters with the tool too but it kept giving me this message. None of my characters have the same name in game so im confused what im doing wrong. Help would be appreciated. EDIT: Ok i think it might have had something to do with empty slots being interpreted as character names? I got it working after filling every character slot so i guess if someone has a similar issue this might fix it.
I wonder if I can use this if I still plan on playing PvP online? Because this will get me banned, will it not..?

do you know if this would work with shadow of the Erdtree? i know its not out yet but i want to make a save right after Mohg and one before Elden Beast so if I'm to under leveled or over leveled for the dlc i can just switch.

i'm looking for a way to have infinite respecs/larval tears for playing new pvp builds, is it possible to safely use this online? Or is there another more simple method of achieving this?
After game version 1.08, a few people said they had gotten file tampering warnings, outside of that there has been no reports of bans. During development i've used all features online including ridiculous things like walking around with 65k hp. Despite this, i cannot offer any guarantees
Help. I accidentally undid hours of progress. I did the following:
1. Updated, edited some stuff, loaded.
2. Played for a few hours.
3. Forgot to update, edited some stuff, loaded.
How can I get those hours of progress back ? File recovery only seems to work after the first edit and second edit.
Hey man, hope you are doing well. I have a question, when we load the save that we created, does that save now physically replace the save file in the AppData directory? Or, does it make ER load the save file from the save-files sub-folder in Save Manager's data folder?
Yep when you click "Load Save" it will physically copy the save file stored in the manager into your appdata/roaming/eldenring folder

Is there a way to change quests stats? I theres been an issue in a quest that I ve been through a save and envolves a quest that personally can corrupt my save and just need to change that status.
Hey man, great tool! how exactly can I get an item that I have missed? In my case I accidentally killed Seluvi before getting the magic scorpion charm (id [208, 7]), but the save manager says that I need at least 1 to add this bad boy. Is there a way to add an item if I have 0 of those?
There is no way currently, but when i get some free time i plan on adding the ability to add/remove/replace items in your inventory or storage box.

Is there any change youll add the ability to add Pureblood Knights Medal. Would be extremely helpful for offline players and seamless coop players trying to get to mogwyn dynasty early.
On the next release im working on a feature that will let you search for item IDs yourself and add them to your manager as custom. You'd need to create 3 copies of the same save file, go in-game and modify each save to have a different quantity of the item you're searching for, then select the 3 saves in the manager and it will return the item ID and automatically add the item to the inventory editor.
In your case, since the pureblood knights medal is a tool and not a stackable item, it might be harder to find the right location. If you could email me a save file RIGHT before you are able to get the medal, then i could look myself

Hey! Thank you so much. I tried to add the Rotten Winged Sword Insignia to my inventory as there is no way to get them both in a single run. No luck so far. Is there any way to make it work?
every time I try to add items with the item editor, it keeps popping up with "Unable to set quantity. Ensure you have at least 1 of the selected items." Is there a way to remedy this? And yes, I did have a set number of items typed in.
Hey man, is there a way to soft reset a quest? Me and my friend are stuck at Rannis Tower (we're playing the seemless COOP Mod).
And yeah we tried talking to Ranni and her NPC-Ghosts. But weve died at the Dragon after that, spawned in the Tower and now were stuck behind the Fog. Ranni only says "..."
It sucks so much weve farmed that moonveil Katana like madmans.
Now we dont know what to do.
Can you help? Or Nah?

that what happened to me too. i joined a different friend who wasnt at rannis tower sat on a grace in there game, then went back to my world and killed myself and spawned somewhere else. but now i cant go near rannis or it locks me out of teleporting.

Don't know if I'm understanding you right but if you are wanting to take your seamless co-op save to vanilla Elden ring, just go in windows file explorer and rename the file from ER0000.co2 to ER0000.sl2
I got a problem, for some certain reason when I was trying to increase my smithing stones, I have around 10-20 of each, but it only is able to duplicate the Smithing Stone[1]

Does loading a save file take effect when the game is already running or do you need to relaunch the game in order for the loaded file to show up?
You need to either exit the game or return to main menu
question- i’ve been using this for pvp and haven’t run into any bans. i’m not attempting to have invalid inventory values, but i did notice stat editor lets you choose 1 for things like faith or intelligence. so of course i did it, and still no bans. wondering if anyone has been banned yet.
when adding runes would you be able to add 699 and they would be added to chest and inventory or does it not add to chest?
It's just added to inventory, but you can add 999, then load into the game and drop the stack, then pick them up again and the extras will go to your chest

I use the alternative save mod with convergence and they have the save fill in the convergence folder, is their a way used the manager with the saves on their or do they have to be in the steam id folder.
You can override the save manager manually by opening the config.json in the data folder and pasting in your path. However i have not tested usage with the convergence mod. It modifies a lot of shit and there are too many variables to account for
I was directed to this video but it dont quite answer my issue im having. maybe you or someone in the comments can help me out. me and a buddy been running the seamless coop and we around around 10hrs / level 40 deep into the game atm. he hosted the world but i logged in to check something today. upon sitting at the bonfire the game with to a loading screen like you are traveling and it just keeps flickering on that. loading image, the black screen like its about to load the instance. then back to loading screen. in a endless loop. we only have one character and have no other saves. is this issue recoverable with this tool???
It does copy the files to the other account and they are visible from the new account's character list in-game, but when choosing any new copied character, it marks it as a damaged file.

Any update on that custom item id search? Need to add in 99 death root to my seamless co-op file because Gurranq keeps having amnesia and eating my deathroot without giving anything.
The custom ID search is available in v1.6 and will be releasing 1.61 with more items and some fixes along with a video after i get my 2021 taxes filed lol..
May I ask if this is able to change my starting class?
I kinda regret taking the bandit class because of the huge wasted Arcane stats..
If you change starting class in the save manager, all it does is change a single value that designates your starting class. However, in-game it will still display your starting class as the original. I'm working on finding other flags to fix this.

I play an older version where the save version is sl2, and I downloaded a more current version which is 1.10 where the save extension is co2, how do I stop importing the save? I already tried this way in the video but I couldn't

tried updating my save file after doing new characters but it ended up deleting all my new ones since the last use and there seems to be no way to get them back
im having an issue where I try to duplicate a character and the load the save with the duped character but he wont show up in character menu in game.
how to add skills? I just want to learn bloodflame talons because my mohg bugged and died without dropping runes or the skill due to my game crashing. I can substitute runes with 2 lords runes but I can't find a way to add the skill.
Questions because I'm still confused.
1. What is the steam ID (17 digit code) and is it suppose to create a new folder?
2. For your path above at :57 I don't have an AppData folder, is this suppose to be wherever the game is save? In my case "Common/Eldenring?
The 17 digit steam ID is a number PAIRED to your steam account which has a unique 17 digit id assigned to it. When you start a game, Steam will create a folder named after your steam id in the appdata/roaming/eldenring folder. The steam ID will also be WRITTEN to your save file, and be locked for anyone else trying to use your save file on another steam acc with a different ID.If you download a save file from Nexus or your get one from a friend, you need to use the editor to change the steam id of the save file so it matches YOUR steam id.
You definitely have an appdata folder. You need to enable hidden files and folders in windows and you will be able to see it. Just use windows search bar and type "show hidden".
This is the path for your savedata:
C\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\EldenRing
You can also type "Run" in windows search, then in the entry box type "%APPDATA% and click OK and the folder will open in file explorer.
common/EldenRing is where the game data is stored and NOT your save data

Unfortunately, despite I appreciate anyone who takes the time to go to he lenths to create or teach people about complex mods, he completely left out how the altered file changes the steam id associated with a save file ER uses to detect legit saves. I know, because I did the same thing, xcept kinda reversed because my file was already corrupt. And sorry to tell you, but your file is probably screwed now, because I've been trying to go through the incredibly long, complicated process of fixing a corrupted save, and it's ridiculous.

update I have duplicated my character multiple times on the seamless coop version and I have NOT been banned…. cant guarantee everyone else will not be banned
seamless coop doesnt run on the official servers so you cant be banned, it literally tells you that each time you boot it up lol

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately i can't give you any guarantees, there have only been a handful of reports of people getting banned so it is possible but unlikely considering i've developed and tested all features online.
It may be safer to edit your stats, then launch the game in offline mode and load into your save file, then exit and launch the game again in online mode
Does this tool work on changing in game events? I recently opened the Frenzied Flame door then Melina left. I thought the door would open then I'd have a choice. That was not the case. I don't want to continue like this. I know you can remove the flame but, she won't come back and I'd like to finish her section of the story. This is my first playthrough.
Sorry unfortunately changing game events is a bit beyond my skill level and would take a ton of time to reverse engineer

i have the crakced version but i followed all the steps and was able to do everything but when i go in game and choose the character it says "game file corrupted coudnt saved game file" or something can anyone help??

Hi, i know this vid is 2 years old but the renaming chars doesnt work for me,
i rename a character and then i get ingame to load the char up, in the char select screen i see the new name, but when i enter the world its back to the old char name again.
Whenever I try to select character in the Inventory Editor it comes up blank. I'm tried creating a save and importing directly but nothing seems to work. Am I missing something?
hmm that shouldn't be happening. Have you tried a different save file (like one from the Nexus) to see if you run into the same issue? You can also send me your save file to scyntacks94@gmail.com and i can try to find the issue.
I'm sure this isn't the problem but make sure you click on a save slot, then try to select a character from the dropdown
Does deleting a character in the game when loading one save lets say cur delete it in another (main) trying to set it up so i can have several profiles that have different pvp set ups in them so one for faith one for int etc

is there only one safe file even If you have multiple games? all of the files there are "ER0000"
Am I missing something on how to give myself weapons or is the function not in game.
I've got the Platinum trophy for this game on PS4. I've replayed it multiple times in two different characters, an INT build and a STR/DES build.
Now that I've got a PC and don't even turn my PS4 on anymore, I'm thinking about buying the game on Steam, but I don't want to replay everything again and again until my save on PC matches up that of my PS4's in preparation for the DLC, so...
This might be the solution.
So for me it keeps showing one character at all times. Even when I load a different save.

Hey man, dont know if you are still on this project, but i just downloaded it and used it to boost some runes preparing for NG+ and after adding the runes my flask of wondrous physick disappeared from my inventory, i accidentally overwrite the original save so no going back can you help me? Im very far into the game to start over! Ty
Go to tools > file recovery and look for the right save. The manager makes a backup of the save file BEFORE any modification, so you can always revert changes.

I already deleted everything, something corrupted that save so bad even some items dropped from enemies spawn floating over the ground making them unpickeable, i reinstalled the game loaded that save and still the flask is not in the inventory but in the crystal tears menu a couple of them show the icon that they are in the flask, i just started a clean one, wasnt very far no worries, if you still want to check the save file for scientific porpoises let me know
why is there no golden rune 13 in the inventory editor ?

That sucks. It might be possible. I would need a save file RIGHT before killing the npc, then RIGHT after
You can always just use the manager to cheese your way through the game to get back to where you were

hello, could you help me with a problem that i`m having? `i`am trying to transfer Reforged save file to Seamless co op with reforged, but when i launch the game, it says that the game files is corrupted or coulnd`t load it, making impossible to start the game, any solutions?
I haven't used reforged so i can't help much. You can try to create a new seamless co-op save file (delete any save file in the save folder, then launch the game and make a character). Then import the new save file and your reforged save file into the manager. Copy the reforged character to the new seamless co-op character you just made. Since they will be different extensions, if reforged save files are .sl2 extension, then make sure to rename the ER0000.co2 to ER0000.sl2 then import it
@@arespy719 i have already tried to rename the save files, bit when i launch the game, it says that failed to load the save files. I will try again deleting and creating a new save tho
Doesn't seem to work for me. "No listbox item selected" I correctly copied steam id and directory and just get this message when I try to load a save. "MAIN1" doesnt appear at top either.
"No listbox item selected" just means you need to left click on a save slot first, then click load save. It's one of the limitations of the library i used for writing the GUI
When i go to "rename Characters" on my save file it correctly reads the names on my saved slots. But when i go to duplicate them it doesnt read the characters?
Does this happen when using different save files too (Like ones from the nexus)? If not can you send me your save file to scyntacks94@gmail.com so i can investigate
Trying to import the "Elden Ring Mule Save File All Sites of Grace" file and cannot seem to get it working. This video didn't explain about finding that file unless I missed it
Once you download the save file from the nexus, navigate to your downloads folder and then unzip the file. After that, go into the save manager and click file > import and then navigate to the unzipped folder in your downloads folder and select the ER0000.sl2 file.
If your steam ID was already set in the manager, a prompt will appear when you import the save file asking to patch the save files steam ID with your steam ID.
If you didn't have your steam ID set when importing the file, you can select the save on the managers main window and right-click > change steam ID
I have a message saying there is no listbox item detected. The directory and steam ID correct.
I don't know what to do. I do not want to create a new save, i only want to add a char in my current one.
I remember an old version where 2-3 simple step were enough (select source, select destination and it was done), is it still in this version ?
I guess it is like this now, because of fixes on the game, but damn i'm lost.
Maybe next version i will understand something. I'm just giving up on this one.
