Never understood why gorgoroth is so underrated. Everyone remembers them from the early norway scene, but nobody seems to really like them. Every gorgoroth's album is amazing!
My last place would be twilight of the idols, and first Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam.
Um….If I could describe Gorgoroth’s music 🎼 in one word it would be……BORING. Not because they play the same tuning, but because there’s NO soul in the music 🎼.
@@BadEconomyOfficialYou really think so? If anything, I think Infernus' riffing style is pretty idiosyncratic, they've always had a decent amount of rhythmic variation, and some of their albums are downright experimental. I entirely get why would would say... Dark Funeral soulless. But I think Gorgoroth's best material drips with personality.
@@daniilslavandrushevych4118 Yes I do, I know other people think 🤔 differently, but I really don’t feel any soul in the music 🎶 like I do with Mayhem and Burzum.
@BadEconomyOfficial Fair enough. It's a pretty subjective thing.
I'd be inclined to call KoH era Gorgoroth soulless myself. The extent to which those albums are enjoyable seems far more reliant on production than performance or songwriting.

fact that Varg and Fenriz have been so public about the recording processes of Burzum and Darkthrone albums respectively has taken a bit of the magic out of them for me. 😪 It's definitely demystified them a little.

Thanks for Black Metal November !

I give your comment a satan out of 69
Satanism was very distant 3rd for the original influences for Norwegian Black Metal. Viking Heritage & Tolkien we’re the first influences. The band GORGOROTH got their band name from the Black Plains of Mordor from the Tolkien novels. The band GORGOROTH has quite a reputation and their albums are impressive in ways.
I love those fucking drums on the first track of Under the Sign of Hell. They’re just so aggressive and raw. I understand why you might make the St Anger comparison, but while St Anger is lame, these sound the arrival of your imminent violent death. Incidentally, the re-recording is a complete waste of space. The original is amazing. Otherwise I agree with almost everything you said, but I’d swap numbers 2 and 3. Definitely Hat and Pest are insanely good, both of them are in my favourite black metal vocalists of all time.
Radix Marlorum is one of my favourite Gorgoroth songs because of that main riff
yes finally i almost lost all hope that i would ever see this vid
Masters of Black metal... Death Spell Omega, Inquisition and...
Abigor
Under The Sign Of Hell & Pentegram were my 1st GORGOROTH albums. Then I got Destroyer.
Never really gotten Destroyer. Easily my least favorite of the pre-Gaahl era
Great list. Next friday i'll be 50 years old, and new Swallow the Sun is coming out. The best birthday present.
Great video Quest! Could you perhaps rank the Black Dahlia Murder albums, if you listen to them?
Do Abigor ranked! Never gonna stop commenting that until it's done!
First video requesting a Blut Aus Nord ranking.
Nice vídeo!
Under the sign of hell will always be a masterpiece to me.
You should rank Dark Fortress' albums
1st 2 albums definitely. The only albums I care for.
I am going to put some dirt in your eyes
@@metalheadindian9174 lmfao
@@blackwaterrust476 Look at little Blackwater rust jr.
Gonna cry?
(Just joking)
@@metalheadindian9174 Under the Sign of Hell I actually like. Gave it a 2nd listen today so I do like the 1st 3 albums now lol
Blackwater Rust Jr is Crying. He cries *Abyssic Hate, Shining, Lantlos*
@@blackwaterrust476 I love the earlier Gorgoroth albums mainly Antichrist.
There was a time when I was the biggest Gorgoroth fan on the planet.I still do really enjoy them but not as much anymore.
Now Imma go listen to some good ol Alcest and chill.
Anyways,have a great day:)
1. Under the Sign of Hell
Yep - by miles.
BLOOD STAINS THE CIRCLE
🤘😈🤘
10. Instinctus Bestialis (one i still need in my collection and haven't listened to much)
9. Twilight of the Idols (King isnt really that great of a songwriter with Gorgoroth. Album is okay)
8. Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam (too much like Twilight but i like a bit more)
7. Under the Sign of Hell 2011 (Pointless and not even close to the original)
6. Destroyer (pretty good but little too experimental on half the album)
5. Antichrist (top 5 are amazing albums, this is just a bit short for me)
4. Incipit Satan (i hate ranking this low because i've listened to it alot since it came out. Easily Gaahls best)
3. Quantos Possunt Satanitarem Trahunt (finally the true Gorgoroth returned and got rid of a couple traitorous goofs)
2. Under the Sign of Hell (masterpiece)
1. Pentagram (one of my early introductions getting into black metal. I have two different versions of this album. Best lineup.
Did your opinion ever change on Instinctus Bestialis?
It's definitely a bit of a departure sonically while still feeling very "Infernus". I think it's a very strong album, though it has stiff competition in the Gorogorth catalog.
@@daniilslavandrushevych4118 Yeah i own it now but its the one i listen to the least. Newer albums by any bands i usually rank lower because i maybe have more nostalgia with earlier releases. If i give this more listens which i will when i get in the mood i might get more familiar with it and rank higher.
I have the same top three. I'm not certain of the order but those are my three favorite Gorgoroth albums as well.
1. Twilight of the idols
2.Incipit satan
3. Pentagram
4. Ad majorem sathanas gloriam
5. Under the sign of hell

My favourite Gorgoroth album is Antichrist

Have u done a list with portal albums?
difference sounds but to me they ALL sounds good
Do you know Deserted Fear one of the Best German Death Metal Bands i think. Gorgoroth is Good to nice ranking. Sorry for my English is not perfect but for a German Guy its good.
Destroyer is absolutely insane.
Probably sounds WAY bizarre but for some reason the guitar on Quantos at times reminds me in ways of things on Def Leppard's Pyromania
For me Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt is my favourite album. The reintroduction of Pest seems to have brought new life into the band. The introduction of the late, great Frank Watkins adds a bit more boom! Prayer and Cleansing Fire would be my favourites. On vocals, Pest sounds best
Abigor ranking next?
have you done gorefest?
Abigor!
If a deathcore band released Instinctus, it would have been considered an instant blackened deathcore classic.
I really love under the sign of hell. Used to jam profetens apenbaring during math labs in college.
What about Abigor?
Pest is the best!
review proscriptor mcgoverns apsu please
Abigor is a underrated Band common!
F*ck the poser Ghaal, hail to Pest...REBIRTH of Gorgoroth!!!
Quantos Possunt Satanitarem Trahunt all the way!
Quantos Possunt Ad Satanitatem Trahunt is a masterpiece
I'd say pentagram would be my favorite. Every song is great from stop to finish.
Antichrist features both pest and hat
I'm a huge fan but... You are not a perfect UA-camr until you have ranked Abigor.
You like Abigor?
Fuck YEAH abigor awesome band

You literally spammed the entire comment section with Abigor.
Good job.

That couch is the best part about questy hub
Here is a band I know you would like...
Abigor
can you rank all Branikald
Nargaroth Ranking when?
Pest is the superior vocalist the way I see it
In my humble opinion, Twilight has some killer songs, but the production is lacking. They are much better live.
The first half of Incipit Satan is great, the second half is a stinker.
