***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 3 new videos every week! Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we transition from city dwellers to full time homesteaders!

How about "The Quack Shack"! :)
OZARKMEL ♥️
I just put this then see you had already said it. Great minds :)
Love it!
😂 that was going to be my suggestion as well. Guess you gotta be quick on the draw around here.
My first thought as well. :)
How about "The Waddle Inn" , for the duck house ? It's a bed an d breakfast for ducks !
Hey guys, I would suggest skids on bottom, so next spring, you could slide "Waddle Inn" over use brush hog to spread or compost. Just an Idea. Love ttj
I’m Quackers for this name
So I just type call it the Waddle Inn. As I was scrolling through the comments I saw yours. I must agree with you.😀
I love this suggestion! What a creative mind you have. 👍😊🌺
WL CAPLINGER Love love that name👍😃
My entry is Quacker box. LOL
Ah man you stole my idea. Lol
Haha I added this before I saw yours.
I agree with someone's suggestion of "Duckingham Palace". Great video as usual.
Omg I love this!!!
I think Duckingham Palace is perfect
Or Duckingham Pallets!
I had a variation on this, I was going to suggest: Duck'nHam Palace. To signify his two favourite pursuits on the homestead. But it's quite a mouthful! ;)
I like "the quack shack"
The "Quacker Box". That's all I gotta say!!! Nice job!!!
Throwback time! Lol
Wood pallets are my absolute favorite building material! It goes so fast when you're throwing up 12 -16 sq ft at a time! I've built a goat shed, a small coop for bantam chickens, and even fence using nothing but pallets and scrap wood. Like you said, "The ducks don't care." Ive made that same statement about chickens or goats. They are perfectly happy as long as they can stay out of the wind and rain. Function trumps form. It doesn't have to be pretty. Especiallyon a tight budget.
Ha ha ha... Waddle Inn !! What a great Name!!!
Capture the rainwater off the duck house roof to fill a swimming pool for them.
I would take the forks on the tractor and lift it up and put treated 4 x4 s under the pallets to prevent rot and termites.
☎️ "Duck Inn, how can I help you?"
🦆"Room service? Please send some watercress and quackers to us. Maybe a veggie tray and dried meal worms. ? "
☎️ "Yes sir, shall we add that to your bill?"
😆😉😆😉😆😉😉😆😉🦆🦆🦆🦆☮
Considering they run like horses out of a starting gate when you open their door, I'd call it Duckbill Downs, the home of fine feathered racing.
😍
Lol that one's GREAT xD :)
I vote for Duckingham Palace. I love the beginning of this video. It's so pretty.
Haha..luv it !!!
My husband suggested the Quack Shack
Quack shack is awesome. Great video
I loved the peaceful frosty intro.
Duck Dynasty 🍁🌻🍁
The Quack Shack. Good job you two.
Donald Duck's House is my entry. I love Donald Duck. Great job. Looks compfy.
This is an awesome idea I never would think of a duck house like that
We built a shed for our rabbit pins out of pallets, instead of putting plywood on the outside we broke down a bunch of other pallets and played Tetris in the blank spots with the boards. Our shed is 12x24 and 10 ft high (we increased the height with 4*4's). The whole project cost was less than $100 because we reused tin from an old hay shed and landscape timbers. The bottom boards of ours is also railroad ties that we were given when the railroad renewed their tracks a few years ago.
Skunks not aloud. Only web feet. Not a name but a good quote. Lol.looks very good have a Great week ahead. Love and prayer for you guy's. 🦆🦆
the quack house as I was watching I thought about the sound of the duck and came up with that
The Bill-ding!
Good morning! GREAT build! Suggestion ~ Jack up & put a PT Ground contact piece of wood underneath walls ~ Don't learn the hard way like I did! ~ Some pallets rot quickly with ground contact! ~ Going to try your English muffin recipe today! ~ God Bless!
The Quacker Box . Fun to watch you guys do this. What a great repurpose job. Love love love it ! Thanks
The "whacky quacky shacky."
I 'm sure it will be fantastic no matter what you call it .
I love the new house...what about calling it “The Duck inn”
Paddlefoot Place! Lucky Duckys! They are going to love the new home!
I vote with the Duckingham Palace crowd!
Quacker Barrell or Duck Inn. Looks good. Can't wait to see a finished product.
I liked both "Duckingham Palace" and "the Waddle Inn" ... both very clever.
Gotta be 'Cluck-Cluck Hotel' as vocal as your Ducks are. Lol.
Your Duck House is just what I was looking for because I want to build a sauna with pallets with the same dimensions. Thanks for the great video.
You should ask your viewers to send in art pictures of ducks and geese to put on the inside and outside walls they look so cool when they do that and the viewers can see their pictures
Pallet Palace is a good name. Blessings.
Duck hut heaven, i want a new chicken coop made like that, what a terrific job
We're going to use this same technique to build a pump house over our well. Thank you for sharing♡♡♡♡
I'm doing that as well :D
How about “The Duck Hut”
Duck Dynasty. That duck house is great.
Awesome Duck Condo.. Blessings Yall
I was just in Missouri for two weeks alittle north of you guys in Edgar springs and I miss it so much ❤️ the Ozark mountains are beautiful. I love you guys May God bless your family and homestead. Sending love from NJ ❤️
Thankyou loved this build...yes loved English muffins
Have you thought about putting a shelf all the way around the inside area with a ramp going up so some of the ducks can get up off of the ground. That would really give you twice the room you had to begin with.
I love that idea and if you want to go creasy make a little door a the end of the ramp to give them the pleasure of coming out flying. All the name are Very Good, I think I like the Quack Shack, because it really says, what it is.
Wow, some really great name suggestions. I couldn't think of anything better. Pallette de Canard and Dukingham Palace are front runners for me.
The quakery' God's blessing to you and yours
The Waddle Inn & Quack Shack are great!
Lucky Ducks 🍀🦆🦆🦆
Duck house assembly looking good ... Duck penthouse
WOW nice Job Kevin and Sarah...............Quackers Cabin!!
You said it “Duck Paradise” sounds good to me xx
Love the new duck house!
Kevin I use the bit that has a sleeve from DeWalt to drive screws easier. I'm not a screw driver but the sleeve helps me holding the screws in the bits.
To protect the bottom of the walls, you can run an overlay of plywood like 2' ('=feet, for those who don't know. "=inches) high, and go all the way around. This, will be rotten in about a year or so no matter what but, it will protect the bottom behind it. Then once it gets a little enough damaged but not too bad, remove it, and place another. If possible, you can give a coat of bull to the bottom of the walls, before the skirt cover, and over the skirt. It will protect your bottom wall and your skirt. Then you can paint it a color of your choice.
This was a great job indeed! Thank you for the Demo!!!
Awesome Beautiful great job looking good.
Wow great. Now i see how a pitch is made!
Pallets come in real handy on the homestead! I just built a guinea coop using mostly pallet wood. Yes, I have a video about it. And The Self Reliant Roadshow was here to help me put up the roof, 'cause I don't do heights. 😜😄
You wing it. Nothing wrong with using stuff around the homestead.
Bruce and I aren’t fancy either. Great job.
Oh yeah "Quackers or Us" You all are having to much fun (For farmers)
Looks good folks, have fun with the naming.
Kevin, You should be able to get some green liquid from your building supply store to treat the bottom 18 inches or so of the wood products which will keep the wood from rotting and will last longer.
The Quack shack hehehe👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great Quack Shack build with the pallets.
It’s looking good!!!
I know this is work, but it’s a lot of fun watching you. I love it nine minutes 21 seconds you mention it’ll almost be ready for the ducks to move in and you can hear them quacking in the background. And then one is in the background over Kevin shoulder. They know exactly what’s going on.
The duck house looks great.
My son built a sauna a couple of years ago out of pallets did reclaimed cedar on the inside and reclaimed cedar fence for siding on the outside. Very nice in the winter
Hey guys, great job on "Waddle Inn" lol. My suggestion is to put skids on bottom, so next spring, just slide over, and use tractor clean up mess for compost.
Duck Duck Inn would be adorable
Love 'The Waddle Inn' as a name for the new duck house!
GOOD VIDEO!!!!! THE DUCKS DON'T CARE IF THEIR HOUSE IS BUILT FROM PALLETS!!!!!
Cold, but that frost is stunning
I love the music you add to your videos. I think you should call it the Quack Shack!
Great job....and you should be PROUD to be able to re-cycle materials, save money and secure your animals at the same time. I like my choice of name: "Webbed Foot Manor"
Ken from Orlando, Fl
How about; "HOME OF THE QUACKERS"! Really enjoyed the vid...God has MIGHTILY Blessed your home! Thank-you most kindly for sharing your wealth with us.
Awesome job. I will be using the same method building my duck pen. Cheers keep up the great work.
We love our impact drivers 👍
Have a wonderful day
Y'all should put in a Dutch style door. Then if you are only letting the ducks out you only open the bottom half but if you want in then lock the two halves together and open the whole door.
Our first idea is Quack Shack. Looks like there are a several great ideas!!! We did a similar build for our rabbits.
I like the condo cause it's going to be really nice.
I love the new duck house already. :)
The Duck Dynasty!!!
"The Quack Shack"!!!
My husband and I have single handedly rehabbed our entire house. We did a total gut job and rebuilt. We do everything together. I love seeing you both working together to create your dream! May God bless your family💚
Good morning from Hawaii.. Just finished watching Lumnah Acres and now I'm watching your channel. Awesome build with the pallets and they're free from some businesses here. I've used pallets to build a shed and flooring which is pretty strong. Stay blessed everyone 🤙
I just moved into a 2 bedroom apartment in town. I lived in a small town in Idaho where the were no stoplights and no stop signs. I had a flock of chickens and rented space to raise a calf. My garden was small. I have peripheral artery disease. It makes standing, walking very difficult. Sometimes I watch your channel just to remember the smells. I make your recipes , love the bread! Please keep up the good work. I would much rather watch the ducks than the impeachment!
Nice duck house! I look forward to the updates. (I voted below for Lemony Crinklet's suggestion for Duckingham Palace)
The duck house is looking really good! Great job! Nancy from Canada
Duckingham Palace!!!! 😂😂😂🦆🦆🦆
Watched for roof help did almost the exact thing but I did use a few 10 foot 2x4s as post in the ground to prevent wind blowing it over dropped and covered 3 feet it aided. with a window entry also thanks for the help and confirmation of our build
Don't forget to put gutters on to catch the rain water for the ducks.
We built a house like that for our adult Nubian bucks. Of course with the big guys in it and Oklahoma wind, we just drove T-posts at critical places and wired the shelter down to those.
Nice looking shed you got there!
I cant wait to see the next update!
I love "Waddle Inn"!
Great video! Thanks for sharing this process, I’m totally inspired to try this for our future duck house!
Puddleduck palace when they have done playing in the rain they can snuggle up inside. Thier bedtime story can be Jemmimer Puddleduck by Beatrix Potter xx
A few years ago I built 8 horse stables back to back out of pallets, exactly how you both just did, except i had large timbers in ground every 2 pallets, (which was complete overkill) and those stables are still standing 10 years later and only cost me in the framework, and now because iam building two new shelters on a plot i dont own this time i needed something affordable and quick that i can do on my own , i found these videos and realised that i didn't need to worry about the ridiculous ground timbers i had concreted in 3ft under 🤣atall. I think all i will do differently is to screw in base timbers around bottom.
Thankyou for making a proper simple video and reminding me
Looking good guys.
I was thinking something silly like -- Skunkless Inn. Everyone else came up with good ones. Oh well.
I just picked up 40 pallets today for 20.00 lol. I'm checking out videos getting ideas for my shed project. Great video. Thx
Eggciting Duck Dynasty, lol!
