I am the kind of person who listens to all kinds of music and I do not think that is a fair assessment to make. It is not always the case that people do not understand the music, it simply does not appeal to them. The reason I take issue with this is because it comes from this unfounded base of pretension. Listen, I truly admire Prog musicians for their dedication to their craft and overwhelming talent, but it is not accessible to the average person. Just because someone does not listen to Prog does it mean that they resign themselves to listening to terrible music. Because the music can be introspective and complex, you typically have to pull up a comfortable chair and get ready to go on a journey. Prog is a genre of music that demands your undivided attention. The great thing about listening to music is that it is an experience subjective to the individual. Some people dance to music, some just bob their head, others lie down while appreciating their music. As I said before, I am a person who listens to all manner of music. I used to feel maligned because Prog was not popular. How many nights do you think I stayed up a night lamenting the dissolution of UK's original lineup or expressing frustration over not hearing 70s-era Genesis on the radio? Yes, it is not mainstream, but so what? The great thing about our music is that it is like having our own little club. That in itself is pretty cool. We have a common bond of musical appreciation. It is not our duty to berate or feel disdain towards those we deem "philistines." Instead, we should enjoy the music, support of favorite Prog bands and not worry about what other people listen to. They most certainly are not judging us so harshly. And do you want to know something? I am only 25, but I have been exposed to the world of Prog many times over. Through my exposure, I have actually found people from all walks of life who hold this music close to their heart as you or I. Heck, I saw Magma a few years ago and a bunch of fully decked out Punks were there. Happy listening, my friend!

Kind of annoying how such an amazing piece of music has so little views...

very nicely put @drjonangus
hell yeah brother
Spock's beard is the only band I know that can change 4 genres in a song it it still sounds amazing!
There was something so special about the 90s Spock's Beard.
Agreed, the first three albums were sooooo cool. the next ones were good, but.....
This is the song that turned me into a Spocks Beard addict. Getting my fix now......ahhhhhh.
I bet anything that this song was written while having Squonk on repeat. The main rhythm of the song just reminds me so much of it.
Awesome, epic journey piece! (like a traveling journey - not a "don't stop believing" journey LOL)
Always stunning. Song takes you somewhere else ❤
Awesome

troublesomecorsair or by 0:30
This song has one of the most poignant guitar solo I have ever heard
never use that word again
Thank you for saying that. You mean the solo nearer to the end? Love it.
I. flow
sunlight gliding
children sighing
in their dreams
never hiding
True believer
you are ever
forever
the great deceiver
will never boil your blood
or swallow you
whole... yeah...
Shocked outrageous
i have slipped in the slime
touch me - i'm contagious
seeping into your mind
True believer
you are ever
forever
the great deceiver
will never swallow your soul
no never... yeah...
True believer
you are ever
forever
Ii. a constant flow of sound
now we come and go
we get around
a constant flow of sight and sound
a constant flow of sound
Shock on the gate
we're so sorry
guests are not allowed
We're gone forever
headlong together
we're gone - we're so far gone
the true believer
has burst the ocean wide
we're gone - we're so far gone
to where the last of the long lost people are hiding
Lock your doors
everything's delivered
turn on the news
all things considered
looks like we're out of time
We're gone forever
headlong together
we're gone - we're so far gone
the true believer
has burst the ocean wide
we're gone - we're so far gone
to where the last of the long lost people are hiding
Iii. into the source
go forth
into the source
go
evading force
go forth
FODA!
✨💐✨💜✨💐✨
