Sharm is on the Southern tip of the sinai Peninsula; while Hurgada is 200km away on the other side of the Red Sea, along the Eastern cost of Egypt - now, while It’ s gonna take you about 3 hours by ferry to get from one city to the other; if you decide to make this trip by car is gonna take you more than 8 hours of driving as you now have to travel 800km by land -
Hurgada is a coastal city, and is situated close to many important cities that you may wanna visiti like Luxor and the valley of the kings- Sharm el Sheikh is far more laidback, away from the hustle and bustle of the city life. a gem set in the azure waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, has probably its name to the luster of its rocks.
WEATHER
Egypt is a warm country, and while there is no big difference between Sharm and Hurgada’ s weather, you may find that Sharm is a bit warmer, so if you consider traveling to the Red Sea in winter you may opt to come here.
Beware than other than the temperature, you have to take into consideration wind. Coastal cities in Egypt can be pretty wind, and that’ s why here you ‘ ll find some of the worlds top destination for Kite and Windsurf.
Anyway, before you leave you can check the weather forecast on one of the multiple dedicated website available on line.
Overall, there is no big difference in terms of temperature condition between Sharm and Hurgada.
BEACHES AND SEA
Next, we’ ll talk about the beaches and the sea.
The Red Sea is a world-class diving destination: the stunning reefs, exceptional marine life, and incredible corals draw tourists from all around the world.
If you want to explore the wonders of the sea the clear winner here is Sharm el Sheikh the resort house reefs along this stretch of coastline are second-to-none. There are also numerous accessible wrecks here, including the famous SS Thistlegorm, Dunraven, and Carnatic to name a few.
Conversely, if all you want is relax with your spouse while the kids are playing with the sand by the beach, Hurgada may be a better option for you. Most of the resorts here have long sandy beach, and you can access the shallow waters without wearing special shoes.
From Hurgada you can also organize a trip to MarsaAlam , where you’ ll find pristine reefs that can compete with those in Sharm., ,
HOTELS
The Red Sea has a range of resorts from budget and beachfront to lavish properties you’ ll never need to leave: pools and spas, restaurants, animation activites,slides for children, water sports, night beach clubs
While once Sharm’ s hotels were superior, recently many Hurgada’ s resorts have been renovated ; In both cities you will find incredible hotel furnished with all the amenities you may need .
So here we have no clean winner - as in the end what really makes a difference is how much you wanna spend and what kind of hotel you’ ll choose.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The next point is infrastructures of the city, the attractions available, the walking areas and the nightlife.
Both in Sharm and Hurgada you’ ll have plenty of Promenade where you can hang out after the sun sets - the most famous being Naama Bay in Sharm and Marina in Hurgada.
And the same is true for restaurant, bars and nightclubs: if you’ re coming to the Red Sea you have plenty of chances to enjoy your time out.
Nonetheless, being Hurgada a bigger city than Sharm - you may find here more options than in Sharm - especially if you take a 15min ride cab to El Gouna, a favorite of Egyptian’ s rich and wealthy who come here to enjoy the trendy bars and open-air discos.
As we ve seen before Sharm is a gigantic town built in the desert whose whole economy gravitates around tourism; and people living here are mainly staff working in the hotels and their families.
Hurgada is an actual city. Here you can watch Egypt from different point of view - not only the hotels and the lush beaches, but also the city where the locals live, the fish markets, the souks and the bazar. 🌊 Hurgada is cheaper; convenient stores, excursions and souvenir are cheaper, especially because the market here is not only for tourists but all ofor locals,

@@EgyptMadeEasy Hi Mr. Omar i have visited Sharm and Hurghada a few times for diving . TUI cancelled a flight on the 21 st. May from Newcastle , no reason .
UK announced a traffic light system last Friday , Egypt is Amber , meaning even for Brits like myself with 2 vaccinations, returning to the UK i have to isolate for 10 days in the UK and take a test on day 2 and day 8. This will be reviewed by the UK govt. in 3 weeks time.
Anyway TUI are now advertising a flight on June 10th. from Newcastle . Hopefully a lot of Brits and divers will be able to visit soon. Thank you for the videos .

We plan to arrive in cairo then go straight to Sharm or to Luxor, however we are a little bit confused about the requirements for PCR tests in Sinai peninsula, so from what we understand is that you need to provide a negative from airport on arrival not older than 72 hours henceforth I think we will leave luxor for last...
