Today I’m going to be sharing with you the best Mexican street tacos you can ever make at home, basket tacos! Now let me tell you this tacos are seriously the best and cheapest tacos you can ever eat while in Mexico, majority of the time you are able to get papas con chorizo or refried beans but a classic and most popular ones are out of chicharrón prensado, the best of the fried chicharro!!!! The best part is that now when you have a craving for an authentic Mexican street taco de canasta you can make them at home, super easy and affordable too!

Tacos de canasta de papas con chorizo • TACOS DE CANASTA “BASK...
I M P O R T A N T ⚠️
Enjoy while hot!!! Tacos will last warm for 3-4 hours but they are best to eat within the first 30 minutes 😊
Tip: make sure oil is boiling hot when pouring it over the tacos
Ingredients: makes 20 tacos more if you add less filling to each taco
Corn tortillas
Oil for frying; vegetable, canola or corn
2 lbs chicharrón prensado( deep fried cured pork& pork skin)
3 tomatillos
1/4 onion
2 garlic cloves
4 New Mexico or guajillo
2 chile morita or chile árbol
Salt I used 1 1/2 tsp chicharrón already has salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp ground cumim
Salsa verde:
10 tomatillos
Chile serranos I used 4
Jalapeños I used 1
2 garlic cloves
Piece of onion
Pinch of cilantro
Salt I used 2 tsp
Chopped cilantro and onion
1 serving of love 💕

Wow, yo había escuchado de tacos de canasta pero nunca los había visto preparar de ese modo 😯 te confieso que cuando vi que le ibas a poner todo ese aceite pensé, jummm 🤔 eso no va a funcionar, pero tenías razón fue como magia 😱 el resultado es asombroso... Acá con envidia pq muchos de los ingredientes no se consiguen en Puerto Rico pero te agradezco todas las recetas que preparas pq dan ganas de cogerse un avión y llegar a México 😋

Yo hago también, vivo en Norte Carolina, de tantos videos que ví hasta que hace unos 4 años por fin hice a mi estilo y a la gente les gusta, te voy a dar un tip, ojalá no te ofenda, la cebolla la puedes freír en el aceite que le vas a hechar a los tacos y agarra muy buen aroma y saborsito para los tacos, yo les hecho arriba chile guajillo para que queden más ricos , saludos

I just learned about these tacos from a Netflix show (Taco Chronicles) and was looking for an, at least semi authentic, recipe that I could make without too many hard to find ingredients. The slow cooker bag is genius, I was wondering where I could find that blue plastic they all seem to use (also, you could use the slow cooker instead of the dutch oven to keep them warm longer). Not sure how the chicharrón will go over with the family and friends, but you can use any filling you like just as long as it is greasy and not too wet I guess. THANKS!

Those looks sooo delicious. I’ve always wanted to try basket tacos. I recently went to a flea market and there was someone there selling “basket tacos” but they were definitely not authentic. I just have to make these so I can finally try some real ones!

We used to have a Mexican market called the Palms Market in the Palms area in Los Angeles
On the corner of Tabor and Motor
And every Saturday and Sunday there was this woman who is Mexican dissent who it grill some Asada and Carnitas outside with tortillas and make Street tacos with some grilled onions they were the bomb and I miss those days but unfortunately the owner of the building decided to sell it to a real estate developer and they tore it down and build apartments but it has been there since I moved into the area and 97 I miss those days
