Do yourself an awesome favour and watch the live performance of Chuck Berry WITH Bruce Springstein performing "Johnnie Be Good". Very uplifting performance. Watch how in awe of him and deeply respectful is Bruce Springstein.
I was going to suggest that one! Although I think it’s more country than rock, isn’t it? It really didn’t matter to us back in the day. It was just fun. Merry Christmas!🎄
Elvis Presley did a pretty good rendition of Here Comes Santa Clause, and of course there is Blue Christmas. Bruce Springsteen also did a great live version of "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" in 2007 thats worth watching.
Okay, this may be controversial but I think David Cassidy did the best cover of Blue Christmas on the Partridge Family’s Christmas album. It’s slower than the other versions I’ve heard and he sounds like he actually means what he’s saying.
Merry Christmas Michael. Springsteen did a pretty rocking rendition of "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" and the number one Christmas song today is "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree". Movies? The old ones include "It's a Wonderful Life", "The Bishop's Wife", "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Pocketful of Miracles". My favorite newer ones include "Elf", "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" with Jim Carrey, "Fred Claus" and "The Santa Clause".
(spoiler alert) I'm still trying to figure out how the religious celebration of the birth of Jesus was turned into a 'Xmas tree and shopping for presents' scenario. I just learnt that worshipping the fur tree and cones is an ancient pagan worship and Easter 'bunnies and eggs' was an ancient pagan fertility worship of a goddess. Hmmm. Re the 'statue of liberty' .... the goddess Ishtar? we won't go there in this comment!
The people, especially the ancient "working class" were reluctant to give up pagan practices. It was one of the few times they weren't worked as hard and were fed good. Needing to pick a particular day to remember God's blessing, they kept the dates used and the practice of celebrating
Just the best ever
He is sooo cool!
Loved dancing to all his songs…
Chuck's My Ding-a-Ling is epic. Listen when you can. Not Christmas, but definitely worth it!!

Here is one I just heard today and had forgotten about - LOL (Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer )

If you’ve never seen “A Christmas Story” (1983) it’s a must watch!
Love this!!

Because if you are trying to convert people to your new religion, it helps to make sure your holidays coincide with their holidays.
