Thanks for these videos - from a person who leans zpacks in almost every situation but can’t understand their laziness in really trying to tweak the little things like magnetic toggles and just to innovate in general. So this Durston stuff is refreshing.
Haven’t got it to hand at the minute, John, but if you watch the end of my most recent video, you’ll see the size as I put it in my pack. I can say it packs tiny, even more so if you use a compression bag. I fit it inside of my 24L pack along with all my other kit for an overnighter.

How are trekking pole tent in winds n rain I always lean towards a standard sort of tent with pole and kind of scared to dip my toe in on the trekking pole tents. My previous tents are fyallraven lite 1 and fyallraven dome 2 both amazing in bad weather

Depends where you are? For the UK climate I can see it being just fine. The mesh panels are pretty large and with both outer doors open, you’ll still get good ventilation.

I love my v2 1p and it’s stood up to some pretty gnarly weather on the moors. I have the solid inner 2p on the way (love the darker green colour too) and I’m hoping that’s me done for tents! Was wondering whether I should have gone for the DCF pro but I like the double skin for the UK - do you think you will use the Durston more than your Duplex?
That tent looks great. I ordered the X-Mid 2P Pro and it should be here in Scotland sometime in April’23, can’t wait to try it.

All depends on which trekking pole tent.
I’ve had the X-Mid in 40mph no problem at all.
Most good mids shed wind with ease due to their shape.

Curious how the Solid performs in warmer weather? My main concern was that the solid walls would be difficult to ventilate in warmer temps.

@@itsmescottp I am actually in the Western US where it usually very dry and cold/temperate. But it can heat up to 90F/32C.
Could be fine, all depends on you I suppose and how you handle heat and ventilation.

Superb. The inner is 10g heavier. Overall the solid model is 30g heavier as it had updates to the fly too.

No. It has dedicated metal grommets to seat the tips. Works fine.
Just got mine and have pitched it up .. can't suss out how the fly door is secured open...
Roll up and clip with magnet.
