1: Domination is actually in E standard but a quarter step down or 430hz, 2: bombtrack isn’t played with plain double stops, instead you want to play 4, 3 and 2 on the low E and A string and 6,5 and 4 on the D and G string
Ngl as a beginner, I reallly hate the recommended regular punk rock and rock songs people say allll the time to learn to ect ect. Nun of them taught me muscle memory for each of my finger or to have confidence to move my head and fingers around while keeping a regular rhythm. This vid and all these songs have helped me evolve muscle memory for my all my fingers. Lots of finger talk but rightfully so man. I appreciate the group of people out here posting these types of videos pls keep going and hopefully one day I can find a Duckboy video to learn the guitar on his music.
In my opinion, good metal tones are rather simple. Simply using one of the typical high-gain amps (Rectifier, 5150, Engl, ...) or any decent digital recreation should get you 80% there.
@@PrakharSrivastavWas just about to comment this. I’ve had one for over 5 years now and it works so well. If you want to pitch shift up you can get the Whammy as well
Hey man, I really appreciate your videos. I've just found you when I looked for a 'Dance Macabre' lesson. Damn what a great song. Thaaaanks!!!! so much, man. You got a new subscriber here!
Hey Kevin, I love your tab videos and use them to learn songs. If possible, I'd love to see your process for creating backing tracks for these videos. Seems like you write the drum and the bass parts. Yourself and I would love to learn to do the same for composing my own music. Thanks a lot.
the easiest thing to do is find out of the song has a midi version or a pro tab and export the midi file to your DAW and then just edit the tempo or any notes and drums you think are wrong, give you a good template, and the better vsts you have (superior drummer , getgood drums, etc will be better better than just jamming to a midi track) that probbaly makes no sense if your super new to recording, but if you have an idea, it should be straight forward :) worst case scenario you can just listen to the song and construct the drums from scratch, same goes for bass with vsts, unless you have a real bass in whitch case just record it like guitar
Awesome videos, and fantastic technique... Do you think there’s any way you could share your EQ settings to get this tone? Out of all the Metallica tone tutorials, I really think your tone is best, so I’d really appreciate if you could share some tips on which equipment you use and what your settings are to get this tone. Cheers!
I’ve just started learning and watching your videos has been helping me. Can I ask, when I look at the tabs on some songs, you are playing two of the things on the same fret but only plucking the top string? It’s throwing me off as I don’t understand why you hold the two strings on those frets but only plucking the one string. Sorry for the long message, but your videos are awesome!
You might be talking about muting. Especially if you're playing distorted riffs like this, you can get a lot of excess noise. The solution to this is to gently rest your free fingers on the strings you don't want to sound. The other thing you might be talking about is an economy of motion thing. Like if you are playing notes on the 3rd fret of the lowest string, and you know you have some power chords coming up on that same fret, you might as well have them in position ready to go, rather than just lifting them all the way up.
It's just visual. He's hitting both strings but you can only see the top string vibrating in the video making it appear he's only playing the one string. If the tab shows two notes play both notes.
what would you rate a ibanez guitar? mines black with a pink strap and I'm a beginner! your videos really help. my dad also showed me sad but true and I can do it pretty well, we love your work!
My first guitar was an Ibanez, also! The great thing about most Ibanez guitars is that you can play pretty much any genre and it's going to sound good!
@@KevinBalke Thanks for the reply. I know what you mean. I currently have the zip tie trick as a semi fix so I can use it in different tunings more easily at least

Great to see Death in there. I learned Crystal Mountain from Chuck himself. He was a really nice guy and very much missed.
what no way that’s awesome
Fuck yeah 🤘🏻
What an honor. Amazing
I would put scavenger of human sorrow too. I hurt my neck every time i listen to the main riff \M/

Obviously one of my bigger problems is that I don't own enough guitars, but ignoring that for the moment, how are you getting those good metal tones?

same. i need a d standard guitar setup for 11s. i have 25.5 scale guitars with 9s and its too wobly.
Use a digitech drop pedal to pitch shift
That’s a good metal tone? 🤢. It’s a generalized/rainbow metal tone. Fits here and there but definitely doesn’t fit on every application

Great selection of songs. Shepherd of fire was one of the first songs I learned
hell yeah dude love that song
Dude you just melted my face with that comp… rock on 🤘🏼

first one)) nice riffs+
Love the tone on raining blood
seems like my own summer would have fit in here
This video deserves part2, part3, part 4 and so on
Killer tone
Nice. Thank you!
Was hoping for some Ghost riffs, but killer lesson still.

Сумніваюся, що Кевін так заморочується. Думаю, що в нього набагато простіший метод . 4:43
Early to mid 90s metal is great for learning to play. Amazed no Chaos AD era sepultura though. Great riffs, simple to play.
Love the new Harley benton ❤

Ok. I think that tone sucks. But that’s just my opinion…
Nice!
Thank you for sharing this.
Great video, your whole and half rest symbols are switched though
Great Playing Sir 🙏🇮🇳
Incredible tones! Is the Voodoo mod still available?
Hello friend! What amp do you use for rammstein riffs? (Sorry for my bad english)
I could tell domination just from the thumbnail 🤘🏻
You can tell Psychosocial and Symphony are at least cousins. Man that just blew my mind
3:42 Dream Evil?! YES!
ellerine saglik basarilar 👍
Thanks!!

Wow! Your sound is so massive and expansive! Rock on...
Thanks!
What pickups are in that white single cut?
Fishman Richard Z Kruspe signature pickups.
what software are you using for your effects tone?
ToneHub, Bias FX, Guitar Rig
Love seeing Harley Bentons getting the respect they deserve 😍
What's your thoughts on Sybreed riffs, like A.E.O.N.?
Never heard of this band before, I will give them a try tonight!
I honestly learnt to tremolo pick with the aeon chorus riff. So melodic for a low string riff
Cochise - Audioslave
Gets me Thru - Ozzy
Aag - Mizraab
Chera Akash - Artcell
Jilawatan - Call
Pistol Grip Pump - RATM
system of a down riffs are easy. the only hard thing is getting into drop c lol,

Merry cxrstms
You forgot to mention you are using octave/harmonic and chorus pedals

mega like for Death =)
What did you do to that bridge of the Ibanez? I hate the Floyd rose
Installed a fixed bridge. Had to change tuning very often and it was too much work with the Floyd.

They are so easy no one else could come up with them 😂
🤘😈

hardest part of the slipknot riff is tuning your guitar to drop b
2:15 Watch him become a guuuuuuuhad
No Obituary ??? No Gojira ??? Brah
I always have a great laugh when I see E Standard.
Jesus Loves You All
Hail Satan
Thanks dude
Jesus gave me the best sloppy top ever. Praise him 🙏
Hail Satan 🐐♾️✝️
Fuck religion.
Need more distortion
Avatar tab is domination
Black Label Society hell yes
Sad but True is not D Standart Rather FULL STEP DOWN (DGCFAD)
That’s exactly what D standard is
У меня тоже такой ибанез был, только щёрный
Geiles Hemd
While these are great, most demand alternative tunings... So these aren't "easy"
очень интересно,особенно когда Rammstein ворует у Pantera,и ноунейм ворует у rammstein!
Sorry to say , for domination that tone suck.
Take Metallica off that list as well as a couple other bands and put some actual metal songs on this list, The Black Dahlia Murder, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, not the radio rock stuff
Cry about it
cannibal corpse is literally the biggest death metal band oat😭😭
What a sad ass
Mediocre songs that are well known.
Was hoping for something good, not mainstream. Meh
