Using the Bifrost as a Daredevil makes the most beautiful and intricate rainbow trails! Not to mention it really shows how much you reflect when autoattacking, as the projectiles become rainbows.
Between this build and the prior Firebrand video, you've managed to blow the dust off two of my characters. I never got Firebrand or Daredevil (I haven't played my thief in, what, almost two, three years?). The past two videos have challenged me to give it another go and move away from my norm. Thanks!
Condi Daredevil is one of my favorite builds in the game. I used to like power better, but I got tired of having to worry about aim or positioning when in perma-evade. Plus a lot of thief skills have decent base damage so it feels a bit more bursty than most condition damage builds.
WP doesn't believe in staff thief for open world, he's going to recommend P/P deadeye. I'm a firm lover of staff too, feels much better at anything that isn't mobbing white mobs, but heh.
Your HP is actually scary as hell because when I played structured PVP as my Engineer just to try it out there was a Berserker Warrior with Greatsword and his whirlwind ability and he did 11k dmg if I am not mistaken ;) but this is definetly profeesion for me. Time to use the instant level up I have from Path of Fire xD
The movement of the Asura Daredevil is the best looking movement I think I have seen in the game. You should show that off some. Its my main and I love the class and the look playing as an Asura. Great Video!!!
Interesting timing on this video. My prediction is that the next open world build is for thief and more specifically, daredevil! And since WP is such a completionist, he wanted to introduce the spec before doing a build video on it.
I wish Anet would revert the lame Steal nerf for DDs. 600 range is so obnoxiously low and I barely find myself using Swipe anymore to engage simply because of how pathetically low the range is.
I don't think Staff 3 should get nerfed. Given that it has it's own jumping animation seems like it is working as intended. I like a skill that can be used in different ways, based on my decision. And it fits the martial art theme
You'd be surprised how much of your healing sustain in pvp comes from Escapist Fortitude. It's probably more overall healing for D/P than Upper Hand Regeneration for core S/D is. Also, Pulmonary Impact was never able to crit, they modified all the other traits like this on other classes after seeing it work well for this one.
Biggest issue I see is, too many suddenly believe things need to be nerfed all because of either PvP or WvW. Both are completely different and separate from PvE, (raids, fractals). Then you have something that can be considered an "exploit", before players declare it as such, don't you think the dev's should answer that question first?! I mean, if you're considering that as an exploit then, what's the difference between that and adding all that extra "dodge", none really. If it's an ability, not really seeing how it's an exploit and needs to be changed. Really enjoy your videos.
No, you didnt. This video is not part of the PvE Build series. WP did a Videoseries about the PoF elite specialisations when they released (Introducing the...) and decided to also catch up on the HoT ones he didnt cover at the time. So now and again there is a video where he explains and discusses the old elite specialisations.

As thief main, I hated daredevil.. untill pof when pof was even worse xD guess im a class purist. nowaday think daredevil is kinda fun. just think they should never have messed with dodge mechanic in this game
I know Snow Crows have an excelent set up for toon, but they use gear that has become mainstream. You know of any out of the ordinary but great builds?
I want the next thief class to get use of great sword, and get multi hit shadow step assults, almost like caithes attacks in the living world 2, her thief attacks were sick, but with GS, call the class Shinobi muhahaha

@@serpentiness Thing is Chrono needed changes, from balance perspective, it was always op, still is. DD when got released was fine, wasn't the highest DPS out there, in my opinion was perfectly balanced. Then they noticed people mostly use one line of traits only, so logically right, they moved under the same tree. Added annoying mechanic of exhaustion on dodge 2 if you remove CC with it, and halved the range of Stealth, because "flavor" and shit, an when you go in to DD you don't "trade" anything. So what fucking Ele trades when they pick Tempest? Nothing, they just get overcharges. Maybe if that Stealth change was from the get go I wouldn;t mind, but I used to play with range 1200 and it pisses me off so much now it almost ruins the fun of playing this elite.
@@deartifex2497 It's the exact same skill, just halved the distance. They just renamed it to something fancy, changed the icon and think it'll pass as a brand new skill. It won't because all it is is minute version of proper stealth.
the reason toughness is incorporated on the rune' is due to the medium armor , daredevil is a melee pressure heavy elite spec..so the toughness makes sense' unlike a heavy armor that can sustain better under melee pressure' theif was given xtra dodges/evades and toughness . i thoroughly enjoi your indepth take on these abilties' particularly cause some seem so 'experimental' even upon release' which is beyond aggravating , particularly with the still limited utilities granted..why would i want another elite spec with more utilities when i can still only slot 3, barely making use of 50% of already given with core....fkng annoys me about this game. i dont mind 3 specs, but stop adding more fucking utilizes ill nvr use, example: my thief ll never get to synergize 3 venom traits.. cause they serve 0 purpose , in any format.

This is an outstanding video, but there is one major flaw - you modeled the Daredevil's Scarf on a charr! Heckin' helmet-hindering heads, they have.

I use the Destroyer Scythe on my Daredevil.

It's equiping the distracting dagger utility skill that gives the dagger, not an item
Charr daredevils are the way to go! The dash animations are the coolest thing!

I find it hard to believe that anything was butchered more than the chrono, but i use to be a chrono main so i am biased.

A Staff doesn't really seem to fit an Assassin..
