  • The C&O Canal Towpath is 185 miles of historic trail between Cumberland, Md., and Washington, D.C. Ride along with Bike-the-GAP.com (bit.ly/2j5fxOb) on Day 2 of the C&O Towpath self-guided tour, taking riders from Hancock to Harpers Ferry.

    Is it just video angles or are parts of the trail very narrow? In places it looks barely wide enough for tow bikes to pass each other.

      In some places the worn section of trail may be a single lane, but there will be grass or room to wait off the trail on the sides.
