This is the video that gave me the confidence my wife and I could ride the GAP. We did our ride in September of 2018 and loved every inch of it. Tonight, in August of 2020, I found you video again by accident and watched it with nostalgia. Thanks for posting.

This video sparked my desire to try bike touring... my wife and I jumped in deep and rode from Pittsburgh to DC on our very first bike tour. It was such a challenging yet reward experience, that we've returned a couple more times since 2018, and we're looking forward to more bike touring. Stumbled upon this video again after years... now I can better appreciate the muddy autumn struggle.

Good video and documentation of your ride. Brought back memories of the same trip I did 3 years ago now. I was lucky for my trip, it rained solid for the week before I was there but nice during my ride. My first day I was rolling along on a nice clean bike and came upon dudes with total mud covered bikes and panniers and bodies!!

Trevor I congratulate you on your trip. This has to be one of the nicest videos of the traiil that I have seen. I am planning on doing the trip flying from Tampa to D.C. and ride to Pittsburg do a few days in Pittsburg and ride back to D.C. hopefully spent a few more days in D.C. and ride back down to Tampa. I think the scenery and how you camped and the different suggestions on the gear and different places to eat, sleep, and hang out is really clever. I look forward to it very much and thank you for making this video available. Alex Retana.

My husband and I have done the GAP between Cumberland Pittsburgh. We did it several years ago, and then again last year. We used Amtrak to get from Pittsburgh to Cumberland, Amtrak has roll-on/roll-off bike service along the Capitol Limited. However we stayed at bike friendly hotels along the route.
Also @ 18:50 I found that ringing a bike bell never works. A loud "call-to-pass" ("ON YOUR LEFT!") works much better!

Wonderful video documentary. Living near Pgh we love the GAP. I see the attraction to through riding it, but I also highly encourage you and your viewers to consider section riding the trail and checking out all that the trail towns have to offer at some point. It’s another facet of the GAP experience that we find relaxing, unwinding and enriching. We owe so much thanks to those who built and maintain this treasure.

Did this ride in OCT 2017 with a couple of friends to DC. It was interesting to say the least. The PawPaw tunnel was closed at the time of our trip and had a 3/4 mile hike-a-bike up and around the tunnel. (not a fun hike-a-bike with a fully loaded Trek 920 at 68 lbs) Did have a good time overall and will do the trip again and perhaps extend the ride further south maybe to North or South Carolina or even Georgia. The 920 did a wonderful job on the trip (Stock seat was not great) No mechanicals experienced the entire trip.

I did the GAP trail in late August 2021. Pittsburgh to Cumberland. I camped at
    Round Bottom
campground the first night which is about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh. Had a shelter all to myself and didn't need my tent. There is a well pump there at RB but the water was terrible. I could have gotten water from the river but I didn't have my Sawyer filter with me. It was a great ride you couldn't ask for better trail conditions. I stayed at Yoder's Guesthouse B&B in Meyersdale, PA which I highly recommend! It is slightly uphill from Pittsburgh all the way to the Continental Divide. There is plenty of water available but one day I somehow missed my water supply point and ran out. It was very hot out and I had no choice but to get unfiltered water out of the Casselman River. It didn't kill me. I would do this trail again in a heartbeat.
