Definitely silk's soy is the best! The peach mango is our favorite. The most economical yogurt, though, is making it at home. I make this weekly because my husband loves yogurt and eats it pretty much daily. Open a large 64oz Westsoy PLAIN unsweetened soymilk container and pour into your CLEAN instapot and add a couple spoonfuls of silk's plain or vanilla (I like vanilla for a tad sweetness) soy yogurt, mix with a clean spoon, cover and set the yogurt button for 12 hours. Delicious yogurt for the whole week! My husband prefers this texture, but if you want it thicker, you can use a yogurt strainer and leave it to strain in the fridge for 6-8 hours and the texture will be like greek yogurt.
They have a really strong soy aftertaste :( which makes it not taste like yogurt. It doesn't help that i like unsweetened and plain yogurt, which really makes the soy flavor stand out.
Thanks for this M. It is good to see what's out there for when I am fully back. Do they not sell Oatly yogurt in the US? i only ask because i use the plain for cooking allot and I know it doesn't break when added to hot foods. I've not been able to test any available in the US so appreciate this selection shown.
To be honest, I haven't personally seen the oatly yogurt around me - at sprouts or whole foods but I've heard others talk about it so maybe just my area doesn't carry it?
@MerleONeal I'm in the LA area and used to see it, but I haven't seen or looked for it since 2023. I tried the peach one, and I guess it didn't leave much of an impression.
Love that you point that out that you won’t waste any of those food. That concern is always on the back of my mind when i watch food tasting content creators.
Thanks for tasting all of those for us Merle! The Siggi’s Cinnamon has been my fav from a texture & taste perspective, & I use the Cocojune plain for recipes.
I really enjoy Trader Joe’s cashew yogurt. It’s got no sugar and tastes amazing with whatever toppings u want. I do mango, granola, hemp seeds, chia seeds.
Siggi's is the absolute best! I love the vanilla cinnamon but usually purchase the sweetened plain in a larger container. It has 11 grams of protein and 4 grams of sugar. It's not "sweet" but that little bit of sugar takes away the typical plain yogurt sharpness. I think you would really like it. Thanks for the review!
I love your ranking videos! My favorite vegan yogurts are Trader Joe’s and silk soy yogurt. I always get plain and flavor myself to avoid those “natural flavors “. 😂😂😂
My suggestion : Rivon Soygurt (soy milk) and Cocobella (coconut milk) Practically these 2 are the only 2 vegan yoghurt that you can find in Thailand (with that Rivon is local brand, established for more than 10 years)
merle, i am so happy to see this!! i had to stop buying yogurt for a long time because my local stores stopped carrying silk soymilk yogurt, and the coconut versions are all too sweet and too coconutty and too low protein to bother with. and i can't stand any of the store-bought almond milk products--they're bitter and nasty...eww! i want protein AND live cultures in my vegan yogurt, and i want to pay $1.75 or less. silk vanilla soymilk yogurt is good, but the best part is the thick stuff on the lid and just inside the rim...the rest is a little loose for my tastes. so now i know to look for siggi's vanilla vegan yogurt and see if i like that better. thanks for the inside skinny! :)
Oooh, our reigning vegan queen is finally back!!! Loves it, i missed your videos!! And you most definitely did a really good job, as always!! ❤❤❤ Also, LOVE the side eyes and the sass 😂. As funny as always! Thanks for the video, Merle, can't wait for the next one!! Hope you Aria and the fur fam had awesome holidays!! 💖💖💖🥰🤍
Merle, you crack me up! I loved Siggi's but I found Silk (brand) Coconut Greek Style yogurt and it has a whopping 10G of protein...but it does have 9G's of sugar (which I can live with, I mean it I'd like to see not more than 7 but...) and it has live active cultures, but the protein! I liked the Blueberry. Try the Silk Greek Style, you might like it. I also liked the Cocojune flavors and I grabbed a couple without reading the label (shame!), but my top two from your reviews are Siggi's and Cocojune. Thanks for the entertaining comparison's, they were very helpful!
Your love of Kite Hill really threw me for a loop because I have a tub in the fridge that I cannot swallow lol. I don't taste almond as much as I taste the p.o.t.e.n.t. soy protein, it's overwhelming. I'll use it for a savory creamy sauce, but sweet uses are out of the question haha
I can confirm the Siggi’s vanilla cinnamon one is delish! I haven’t eaten yogurt in over 3 years but picked up a container based on Merle’s recommendation. So yum!
I’m not sure if the US has it, but here in ireland we have a vegan brand that substitutes milk known as Alpro. Whenever you visit ireland again you need to try it 🎉
Thanks so much, I've struggled to find a decent vegan yogurt. Been loving the Silk Protein yogurt. Will see if I can get some of these up here in Vancouver. Happy New Year Merle!
Love these vegan ranking videos! Can you please do one on either vegan fish sticks/patties or else unbreaded vegan chicken products (the kind you cook and add to pasta, etc.)?
This seriously helps me choose what to buy in the grocery store. My faves have been siggis AND silk greek coconut vanilla which you didn't try and I HIGHLY recommend. And I tried cocojune in my vegan transition and it helped me realize I could go vegan and still have yogurt for breakfast.
it's always so interesting to me to watch these because it reminds me how different taste buds are! some of these I'm 100% with you (sodelicious is gross, the mushroom one is disgusting), but I really dislike the texture of the Siggi's brand - I find it has a chalkiness that I don't like, and for me Forager can do no wrong. I ADORE the plain forager. (I also haven't had dairy-based yogurt in about 14 years I really have no basis of what "real" yogurt tastes like). Cocojune plain I also adore. Thanks for this one!
Thank you! I stopped buying vegan yogurts because the selection near me was awful. Now I wanna find some of these ❤ Happy New Year from the west coast 🌲
Yay! Happy New Year and New video. I wish this would have come out like three weeks ago because I "splurged" on that Icelandic one because it was on sale from EIGHT!! to four dollars and I had the same reaction to the great texture but "natural flavor" and odd protein powder taste. Spot on with the rest! Love Culina vanilla but same with the only 2g of protein grrr. I have never had Siggis before (I'm not sure if there is a plant based option where I live) but I am going to keep an eye out after this vid. Woo!
So cool to see US vegan yogurts 😍 my favourite European counterparts are Alpro greek style (soy based), Sojade (also with soy), Yoya (with soy) and Harvest Moon, made from coconut cream. There isn't such a wide variety though, unsweetened vegan yogurts are especially hard to find 🥲 Siggi's looks incredible
in the midwest there's a grocery chain called Meijer and their vegan yogurts are SO GOOD. coconut, oat, and almond bases, with multiple flavors of each base. the coconut ones have fruit on the bottom and they're super affordable. the only thing i've loved about the midwest lol
Yo, cashew yogurt is super easy and cheap to make. I only do plain unsweetened, GT (coconut) and forager (cashew) are the best store bought imo. Bummer siggis discontinued their unsweetened
Where I live in Calgary Alberta Canada, I have two choices...So "Disappointing" and Silk. Thank you so much for this taste test. I dream of someday finding a grocery store that sells Siggis. I hope your holidays were amazing.
I love the Kite Hill Greek yogurt! I stir a little sugar free vanilla pudding into it and it makes the texture so delicious and mousse like, and then of course add lots of berries!
I regularly get the plain Cocojune and Culina, depending on what's in stock. I definitely prefer Culina! It doesn't help that Cocojune can be pretty inconsistent, texture-wise. But they're both great for making dips, cooking up creamy foods, or using as a sour cream substitute.
As a yogurt lover - buy a yogurt machine (which is just a heating pad container that heats the yogurt gradually) and try making you own. Bio cultures cost next to nothing, or you can use any other thing that already has live cultures and add a spoon of that into your milk of choice. And then after about 8 hours you will have your own yogurt farm. ❤
Culina is women owned. When they first launched they used little glass jars which was super cute. Then they switched over to those little cups.. you didn't get the really expensive one. Coconut cult. Skylr is decent. They have good flavor. Silk has some Greek yogurts that also have 10g of protein and are pretty tasty. You can find those are sprouts. One of my favorites.
As someone who loves sweetness and doesn't care about protein content, So Delicious is superior to all other yogurts to me, it's the only one I buy. I rarely buy the vanilla, but it's fine to me. My faves are the raspberry and the strawberry banana, but I buy and like all the flavors
This video was really entertaining! Your ranking system and detailed breakdown of each vegan yogurt made it both informative and fun to watch. I appreciated how honest and clear you were about taste, texture, and value. Looking forward to seeing what you'll rank next!

@@jonathancederlund1985 That's the thing. I haven't just been watching just this episode. I watched all the episodes on her channel and noticed the pattern of the slow and steady decline in the way she looked.
I haven't tried the Harmless Harvest flavored yogurts, but I really like their unsweetened plain one. It's not the most authentic in replicating dairy yogurt, but I love how light and creamy it is.
I love Trader Joe’s cashew yogurt. I’m not vegan but I can’t do dairy and to me it tastes exactly like yogurt. Love being able to put what I want in it and love that I can use it for savory things as well
I do just want to point out that the Almond-based yogurt is helpful for those of us with a coconut allergy! While it may not do what coconut milk can do, I breathe better while eating it 😅 (Until it, too, develops into an allergy)
I love the plain harmless harvest to cook with the ingredients are so clean and I like kite hill Greek plain and unsweetened vanilla to eat but they did change the clean ingredients and added soy protein isolate and natural flavors but, I still eat it
Silk Greek style is my favorite. The lemon flavor is so so good and it's got decent protein, 10g. I'm amazed you don't think Kite Hill tastes that much like cream cheese--maybe it's just been too long since I've had the real thing for me to remember what it tastes like, but KH is the only one that has enough tang for me!
The "natural flavors" thing is spot on, it reminds me of The Stuff (1985) which was sort of comedic horror based around false advertising. I haven't tried all of the ones you listed. Cocojune I tend to dig and seems widely available at places which aren't Whole Paycheck (because, like you, I despise capitalist billionaire super villain Lex Luthor, I mean, Jeff Bezos). Every time I have seen Siggi's it has been their dairy ones (and that is a ding against that brand for me, because I prefer to support businesses that are *all* vegan rather than just appealing to more market demographics). But I will keep an eye peeled and see if I would put it in an S tier rank if I find their plant based versions. Forager I like for their *drinkable* line (sort of like a vegan kefir) but otherwise don't find myself buying them unless they are on sale (same for Harmless Harvest, because gosh knows I am a cheap skate who already spends too much money on food). I am curious about Fynd, but I have no idea where I would "find" it (ungh, the pun). Rainbow Grocery in SF carried Fynd cream cheese alternative which was, to me, surprisingly better than ye olde Tofutti and most newer vegan cream cheese alternatives, but I purchased it twice and then I never saw it on store shelves again. I've never seen their other products such as the yogurts you reviewed. "I was shroomin when I wrote this so forgive me if I go astray" ー Mac Dre (paying homage to the other late, great, artist formerly known as Prince)
We have very little choice in availability here plus we're on a budget but we've been making our own almond milk yogurt for a few months and I have to say, its damn good! Good texture, flavor, etc. We start w homemade almond milk. But interesting to hear about the branded yogurts.
my go to vegan yogurt is the Sprout's house brand. Good size tub for $5 and I really enjoy the texture! It's coconut based but it doesn't taste like soap imo.
Have you ranked/tested store bought creamy salad dressings? We all know the classic oil and vinegar type dressings are delicious but how about the others? Ranch for example. Happy new year!
Ok I can't believe I caught this and I'm just gonna like and comment for the algorithm before I put this in the back log to watch as I sleep. But my years being vegan I was ADDICTED to silk almond yoghurt and everyone around me knew it. I called it Fauxgurt, and I'm still surprised I haven't seen a brand with that name. I like to top mine with the leftover pulp from making almond milk, actually!! I still really love it, even though I'm not vegan anymore. also I really hope I see this brand on this list that makes little mason jars of coconut milk yoghurt. They were always so smooth and tasty, like a luxury item.
I was happy to see this vid because I'm searching for good vegan yogurt. HEB has a decent protein one that I can live with called Higher Harvest. It's good to use as a sour cream type alternative. I really don't like that so many of them have high saturated fat and low protein. I don't understand why there aren't more soy versions out there.
I can't tolerate the coconut based ones, so I mix a bit of the others into the Kite Hill no sugar ones, or Forager/Silk plain flavor. Adding homemade granola or fresh fruit helps... :)
I’ll pick up any coconut yogurt, especially with love cultures. But the only yogurt I’ve ever liked that isn’t coconut-based is Silk’s Rich Almond. The plain is a great sour cream alternative and the vanilla is really yummy for a sweet option.
Protein bars next ?.... :-) I also feel like you could be the one coming up, or hunt for an actual good recipe for homemade protein rich vegan yoghurt that would also be cheaper + no natural flavours will be harmed ;) Here the AH (dutch supermarket) carries a homebrand of soy kwark which is a thick type of yogurt that is normally high in protein and low in fat and the soy one a actually comes pretty close to the og in terms of macros 5.8g protein, 59kcal/100g And its only €0.79 for 400g! Best thing I have found so far :) Its also just water, soy beans, pectine and a life culture
honestly i will die for the big tubs of forager probiotic cashew yogurts. i use the unsweetened as a sour cream on tacos, etc., and the sweetened for everything else. nothing has come close.
I am addicted to vegan joghurts and I have to say that here in Switzerland we have very very authentic, high protein soy based ones with minimal ingriedients which taste super yum. guess you need to move to switzerland hahah also: making your own yoghurt is sooooo easy!! AND super cheap. All you need is a plantmilk with high protein content, probiotic starters and then keep it in a warm container about 40C for 12 hours
I recently found out that I need to eat less dairy and have been eating kitehill yogurt (regular since I can't eat soy either). Im always wary of trying other kinds cause they all eeem super sweet but I need to check out Siggis now. Thank you for doing this ranking!
Silk soy based is the best! Soy milk is the best one for any dairy substitution, but many have been phased out because of the bad rep of soy -_-
This is the kind I regularly buy, I love it
Yeah, I agree. I've been on the hunt for a plain soy yogurt for savory recipes, but I buy the silk flavored soy yogurts as a snack for my teen.
Definitely silk's soy is the best! The peach mango is our favorite. The most economical yogurt, though, is making it at home. I wish they sold that near me! I loved greek yogurt and while the almond milk kite hill yogurt flavor is there it's not as thick and almost no protein

Where are the soy based ones ??? Here the best in terms of protein and texture is the Alpro Soy Skyr one
We don’t have a lot of soy based yogurts in the US, it’s very sad 😔 we have Silk but it’s harder to come by!
Best way to spend New Year’s Eve !
my go to vegan yogurt is the Sprout's house brand. Good size tub for $5 and I really enjoy the texture! It's coconut based but it doesn't taste like soap imo.
Which one is the best if you don't like coconut taste?
Have you ranked/tested store bought creamy salad dressings? We all know the classic oil and vinegar type dressings are delicious but how about the others? Ranch for example.
Happy new year!
13:44 had me wheezing
The best one I've tried I found in London. The Alpro Strawberry Raspberry Greek Style yogurt. 🤤
i loooove forager
I like Silk soy, but happy to make my own with Trader Joe's soy beverage and prebiotic in Instant Pot.sometimes I add blended cashews, and strain
I very much liked the Skyr plant based but it molded very quickly
Ugh, that's the WORST!
:-) I also feel like you could be the one coming up, or hunt for an actual good recipe for homemade protein rich vegan yoghurt that would also be cheaper + no natural flavours will be harmed ;)
Here the AH (dutch supermarket) carries a homebrand of soy kwark which is a thick type of yogurt that is normally high in protein and low in fat and the soy one a actually comes pretty close to the og in terms of macros 5.8g protein, 59kcal/100g And its only €0.79 for 400g! Best thing I have found so far :) Its also just water, soy beans, pectine and a life culture
Alpro’s lovely
honestly i will die for the big tubs of forager probiotic cashew yogurts. i use the unsweetened as a sour cream on tacos, etc., and the sweetened for everything else. nothing has come close.
My fav is Cocoyo in “pure” flavor! The jar is tiny but the serving size is only half a jar (I’m assuming because of the high amount of saturated fat).
I am addicted to vegan joghurts and I have to say that here in Switzerland we have very very authentic, high protein soy based ones with minimal ingriedients which taste super yum. guess you need to move to switzerland hahah
also: making your own yoghurt is sooooo easy!!
Thank you for doing this ranking!
i live off the siggis i have them every day you should try the mixed berries flavor so good!
