That's something I would have done in 1996 mate I was very young back in 1996 but the way I was back then I so would have done what that bogan did 😂😂😂😂😂
THIS!!!!! This was the first V8 supercars race i watched in it's entirety! And it was the one that got me hooked until they changed everything and made it boring. I remember i was sitting there biting my nails going for Lowndes, then when he took him i went off!!!
2h.06m a LandRover and a trailer to recover a car?? Are you serious???? In a Major motorsport event and that is the best they can do???? Unbelievable!!!! I might this at a small clubsport hillclimb or something but at the second biggest race in Australia!!!! 39min; Young Russell Ingall. Mark Larham often had Bad luck, great guy great driver! Bother i would not have minded Glenn Seton winning, he did win ATCC 96 97? 2h;02m;23s; ''the Dick Johnson Commodore'' Dick is a Ford man thank you!!
@@peterbarber7613 after watching it again, think both of us are wrong, it looks more like an early FJ Landcruiser Toyota, either way in a Big event like this pretty substandard!!!! To say the Least!!!! Looks Nothing like a Nissan Patrol!!!!
This is one of the worst TV Directors of a motor race I have watched. We even almost missed the start the Director was so busy watching a backmarker car getting fixed in the pits. Countless passing moves were missed, even though it was obvious they were about to happen, shocking coverage.
Interesting comment and I tend to agree that the direction is pretty poor. However it’s also worth noting that this coverage seemed to include a few things which would become standard in Ten’s coverage of the supercars from the following year. Specifically the use of a cherry picker camera, smaller on board cameras, Bill Woods hosting the larger events, use of a crane camera and lap counter. So while not great coverage it’s cool to see some of the innovations they’d soon use.
Thanks for the upload - never seen this race before! Gotta love the bogan screaming "Holdens!" at the end! :)

Wow only 24 cars entered? And only 3 years later there were 44 cars at Eastern Creek for round 1? What happened to increase the grid so much?
They got rid of the Japanese cars and made it competitive again
So awesome mate! Thank you very much!
Whoops. Bit of a missed shift from brocky at 10:00
I have never seen cars like the ones on AussieMP it's crazy
Go the mighty Falcons...
Do you have anything from 2001?
They said it was the car that won lowndes his championship but Murphy had the same car in 1997 and could only manage 4th in the championship
Funny how the commentators say "Ford versus Commodore" and not Ford vs Holden 🤔
If it wasn't for bad luck Mark Larkham would have no luck at all.

Terrible coverage, didn’t see any of the passing moves live until around the 45 min mark...
